4.5Lil Bambinos Playtorium(12 reviews) - No other place like it in the Baton Rouge area! Spent 2-3 hours Playgrounds
I took my neice (3.5) and nephew (1.5) to Lil Bambinos and they LOVED it! We were there for almost 3 hours and didn't even scratch the surface of all that is offered. It is extremely clean and well organized, with something for everyone. They had riding toys, a jumper, playground, soft room for babies/toddlers, and so much more. There is also a daily activity that is included in the price of admission (think magician, storytime). Such a great place for kids to play and learn; we will definitely be coming back again and again!!See more..
4.5Betty Virginia Park(11 reviews) - A great place for a picnic! Spent < 1 hour Biking Trails • Parks • Playgrounds Betty Virginia Park is a 23 acre park located in the middle of Shreveport's South Highland neighborhood. This city owned/maintained park offers a short trail for biking/walking, picnic tables and a playground. At one time the western edge of the park had a full baseball/softball field but this area is now just green space. If you're looking for a beautiful green space to spend 30 minutes during your lunch or a place to hang out with friends/family for several hours over a picnic, this is the spot to go. I have very fund memories of playing in this park as a child. My first winter snow as a child was spent in the park and my mom took pictures so I know it happened. This local gem is situated on land that was donated to the city by A.C. Steere (a local elementary school is named after him) and his business partner Elias Goldstein in honor of their daughters Betty Goldstein and Virginia Steere.See more..
4.5A C Steere Park(11 reviews) - Lovely for kiddos Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
Great place that both my 10 and 2 year old enjoyed. Large jungle gym, swings, tree covered seating areas, slides, and chime musical section. It has paths perfect for strollers and wheel chairs. Trash cans and bathrooms are a plus. It’s actually called Leaps & Bounds playground and is next to the AC Steere park. But while AC is limited to Mon- Fri 730-430, I’m here at Leaps & Bounds at 950a on a Sunday.See more..
We were here on a Saturday and the park was quite active! Lots of people having picnics and special activities on the lawns. There is a nice walking path that is pet friendly and we enjoyed taking that path which winds around the lake. The bathrooms were a little dodgy but the rest of the park is well maintained.See more..
No I never saw any Alligators here, It is just the name. They have several playgrounds, A small pier for canoeing, Tennis courts, Basketball Courts, Party pavilions, Woods and trails and a lake that is a nice size for small boating without an engine. If military they have an MWR rental facility here to get canoes, kyaks, paddle boats and other sports equipment. Many of the units on Fort Polk will use this area for company parties and large gatherings. It is a really family friendly area and has lots to offer.See more..
5.0Abita Springs Park Playground(1 review) - This park is special! Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails • Parks • Playgrounds
Beautiful park right on the Abita River. Lots to see and do here. Trailhead for Tammany Trace brings in the bikers. Trailhead Museum in the old Abita Springs Station is definitely a site to see. Love the old 1884 Pavilion with the original Abita Spring inside. Green space with park benches and picnic tables. Playground and splash pad for the children. Walking distance to Abita Brew Pub. What’s not to love? Highly recommended!See more..
5.0John Slidell Park(1 review) - Large Park in North Slidell near I-12 Parks • Playgrounds
John Slidell Park is a large and spread out park on the North side of Slidell on Robert Boulevard and just on the Southeast side of I-12. Near the entrance is a large open area with picnic tables and a sizeable, well equipped children's playground with ample parking. In the same area are a couple of baseball fields with controlled access (e.g. for ticket sales) and restrooms. Going on back through the park are a number of additional baseball fields ranging from simple to much better set up (e.g. for Little League games). Toward the back of the park is the John Slidell Recreation Center. Also, access to trails that are both paved and unpaved for walking and/or bike riding -no motorized vehicles of any sort are allowed. There are also a couple of informal volleyball courts in the park.See more..
