3 Star Places To Visit in Alabama, United States (50)
3.5Wind Creek Casino(364 reviews) - Quick visit for the slots Casinos
Wonderful place. Huge resort. We were staying close by so made a quick stop here for the casino. It was much larger than I expected, yet only had slot machines. Almost had that 'Vegas' feel to it inside, which I loved. Soon lost my money though but it was worth it for the experience. A great place for families and couples. See more..

3.5Tacky Jack's Bar and Grill(150 reviews) - Good dinner for our first night at the beach Saturday: 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM Bars & Clubs
My wife and I have been here several times before. The food has always been good and they didn’t disappoint tonight. We shared the Mexican Garbage appetizer and the blackened grouper dinner. The appetizer was great. It was more than enough for two people. The blackened flounder was wonderful. They spiced it just right. Not too much cayenne to overwhelm the filet. The flounder was fresh as was the side of green beans. The only little drawbacks were the margarita my wife ordered. It was okay but they were somewhat light on the tequila. We also had to wait 10-15 minutes after seating for the waiter to appear. Overall, a very good experience. Even with the observation deck closed for repairs, the view outside was spectacular. 3.5Indian Shell Mound Park(116 reviews) - Shell Mound is small, but the spirits are mighty. State Parks
Shell Mound is one of those ancient places that we may never completely understand. There are about 8 mounds you can make out, but the ground is littered all over with oyster shells. The largest mound was tested and found to be at least 800 years old. There are layers of charcoal , shell, fish and between the seasons, Mother Nature reclaims the sight. Meal after meal for 800 years have built the mounds. The area is only 11 acres but plants grow there from as far away as the Appalachians and the Yucatan, Mexico. The locals can hear flute music and soft drums from time to time. The Oaks are old and wise as well. One is believed to be older than the mounds. She has seen all that has gone before. People see faces of the Old Ones in pictures taken of the tree. It is a place that demands respect.See more..

Guinness Book of Records has placed this as the smallest block in the world. Since our hotel was near by we took the time to locate it since we were in no hurry and was looking around Dothan. It's fun to see how small it is and gave us a good chuckle! It's no big deal so if you are rushed forget it but, if you are just having fun...look it up. What do you have to lose??See more..

3.0AMC Florence 12(35 reviews) - Good Movie Theater! Movie Theaters
This movie theater was recently purchased by AMC and renamed AMC Florence 12. The theater was originally built about 13 years ago by Carmike Cinemas. This movie theater features 3D and digital movies on large digital screens. It also offers stadium seating. AMC Florence 12 has been recently remodeled. They have the self serve drink machines now whereas the guests make their own drinks instead of the employees. My only problem with this is that after standing in line to purchase tickets, candy, and popcorn; you must stand in line again to pour your drink. This theater serves pizza, as well and also features the self serve butter stations for popcorn. AMC Florence 12 could be a little cleaner (like most theaters) but overall it is a good theater. Do yourself a favor and join the free AMC Stubs program to receive special offers such as $2 off tickets on Tuesdays and free refills on large popcorn. See more..
My husband and I stopped in after my daughter insisted that we check it out on the way to PCB. It's chock full of everything that is popular right now. OTBT, Patagonia, Columbia and tons more. The prices are pretty good, not great. Some examples are OTBT shoes $99.00 Columbia PFG shirts $29.99. It was a fun way to kill an hour although the women's clothing section upstairs is a bit overwhelming and lacks enough space for the amount of merchandise they cram in there. See more..
3.0StillWaters Golf Course(22 reviews) - Poorly maintained Saturday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Golf Courses The course is laid out beautifully but it's obvious there is a lack of attention to maintenance of the greens. Worth it once. See more..
Heard that Wade Ward Nature Park can have some birds. Hard place to find parking for, but I figured that the Diner didn't mind an extra vehicle.. Nice raised 1/3 mile round trip board walk over some wet lands and marshes. This afternoon we saw only a couple of Pelicans and some ducks and some small birds that I am still not sure of. If you walk it at a leisurely pace maybe a half hour, so if in the area and can find parking do the walk !!~See more..
3.0Limestone Flea Market(21 reviews) - New Management has done wonders. Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Flea & Street Markets
I knew they had hundreds of vendors under one roof and had great eats. The new management if friendly and is working hard to better the Market each week. Last weekend there was a blood drive. Many people showed and I didn't find a negative thing to say about the vendors or there prices. The vendors I encountered had reasonable prices on the items I looked at and were friendly. The food at the grill is awesome and the brownies at Sugar Buzz was soooo good.See more..

3.5Dothan National Golf Club(13 reviews) - Getting better. Golf Courses Can't beat the beauty of this golf course! It is a work in progress and the new owners (6 months) have been working hard to bring this course back to its former glory. The back nine greens are in good shape, the front still need work -- but the course itself is fun, challenging, and absolutely beautiful (set out late in the day and watch the shadows play across the fairways). Enough water to satisfy or frustrate, and not crowded. The hotel is similar to a Motel 6, clean and comfortable beds but no frills. There is an inside mineral pool to take out the kinks of the day and an Olympic sized outdoor pool. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The price can't be beat! We will definitely be back.See more..
3.5Gabriels Bar(12 reviews) - Karaoke night Bars & Clubs I enjoyed Karaoke .. but wish that it was a non smoking place. It took me a day or two to get the smell out of my house and my clothesSee more..
3.5Hodges Vineyards & Winery(12 reviews) - Very Freindly Lady doing the tastings! Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
We looked on the website - and it said they were open to five..... as we were pulling up at 3:59 PM, the only vehicle in the parking lot was pulling out. She stopped and asked if we wanted a tasting, and when we said yes - she agreed to go back and open up for us - so mega bonus points for a very friendly staff. As noted, most of the wines are muscadines which just do not fit my palate. Tried a bunch, bought 4 or 5 since they were very affordable wines. I'm guessing a very scenic spot in the summer time when the vines are in bloom!See more..
3.5The Gourdie Shop(12 reviews) - Gordie Shop in Mentone, AL Speciality & Gift Shops

3.5Depot Museum(12 reviews) - Trip home Speciality Museums
This is a well preserved old train depot. Today they were working to restore the interior. I was just able to see the outside. See more..
This place has great prices on movies, but they need a better price on snacks. We've been going here for years and have never bought popcorn, drinks, or snacks. We watch a movie than go out to eat afterwards for half the price. This theatre needs a fresher an newer look. It looked almost the same as it looked 20 years ago. I can't remember much of a remodel or a change besides cosmetic ones in that time. If it has, I just missed it, but I will still continue to go here to watch the hot new movies. We might go to watch more films if there was a fresher new look with better snack prices. See more..
We didn't know what to expect; Sports Art of course but that's a pretty broad category. We enjoyed our free visit largely due to the Librarian (whose name I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember) there that day. She gave us an essentially private tour of the Library and of the many side rooms. Really brought the collection to life. Spread out over two floors, there are many rooms to visit and some you can't. There seems to be a little of everything. Lots of Olympics memorabilia. For example: a full set of the artist's rendering of the 2008 Beijing Olympics facility signs. see photo Only negative is that there could be a lot more signage for context. Free admission and free parking.See more..
3.0AMC Vestavia Hills 10(10 reviews) - good overall Spent 2-3 hours Movie Theaters The newly renovated theater is very nice, reclining seats and all. Parking is very easy and the concessions are reasonable.See more..

3.5Carmike Patton Creek 15(7 reviews) - Comfortable, roomy seating. Spent 2-3 hours Movie Theaters My children and I like seeing the Disney's movies, so we've gone to the newly acquired AMC location to see Incredibles 2 and Ant Man and Wasp. The first was on the Saturday that I2 opened and although the theatre was busy, as should be expected, we had no problems checking in, getting to the assigned auditorium and finding seats. Pop-corn was fresh and did not last long. Our most recent visit this month was on a weekday. The place was practically empty and we were able to get served and had our choice of seats in the auditorium. Location is incredibly conveniently near two interstates and US highway and state highway.See more..
3.0Magnolia Springs Golf & RV Hideaway(7 reviews) - Very Nice RV Park Spent 1-2 hours Golf Courses This is a large (130 +/- sites) divided into two sections with mostly back in sites. The older lower part of the park seems to be for folks that live there. It is heavily treed with lots of shade. The upper newer part (once a golf course) seems to be for transients and folks that want a place seasonally. The mostly level cement spots are off cement access roads with a cement pad for a picnic table. The modern hookups were convenient and functioned properly. No cable tv, but plenty of OTA stations and a big sky for satellite. Their included WiFi never provided a signal that was useful to our site - we were in the middle of the new section, Verizon cell service was good. Know the access road to the park is a not very well maintained gravel road, and the only dumpster is in the older section. A plus is a Passport America discount is good for 3 nights.See more..
3.5Limestone Park(7 reviews) - Many rare birds and plants Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
A hidden biodiversity hot spot. Part of the Alabama Birding Trails system, Limestone Park is a mixed use facility on the edge of a water tupelo swamp. When you first drive in it looks like a lot of nothing but slow down and take a moment and you'll start to see what is there. Over 288 species of animal and plant life have been catalogued so far at the park, including locally rare species like Bald Eagle, Osprey, Sandhill Crane, and Anhinga. There is a wheelchair accessible birding platform to the right side of the park and a road that you can take to two marsh areas on the left (this is near the police firing range so do not be alarmed if you hear a gunshot when they are training). On the far side of the central pond is an RC airplane airfield.See more..
3.5Commodore Museum(7 reviews) - Hidden Gem for Commodore Fans in Tuskegee Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums
The recently opened Commodore Museum in Tuskegee doesn't look like much on the outside, but as your Mom would say, "don't judge a book by its cover." The museum is the former recording studio of the Commodores with all of their recording and stage equipment intact. The owner/curator is a former bodyguard of the band and provides a fascinating walking tour of the museum. "Brick House" and other unforgettable Commodore hits were recorded right here. Interestingly, Kenny Rogers recorded "Lady" here as well, and there is a great video of Kenny and Lionel Richie singing the song which you can tell was recorded on the very spot you're watching the video! The museum also houses numerous Commodore memorabilia including a colorful array of costumes. If you're in the area, don't miss this place!!See more..

We really enjoyed our time here and the staff was helpful and we really appreciate that. However they did say we were rude at one time but they still maintained a professional manner. We definitely will go to another facility text time, we don’t want to “be rude” again. But like I said before we loved that keep a professional manner.See more..
3.5Fun Factory(6 reviews) - Not bad, needs a little care Spent 2-3 hours Game & Entertainment Centers
Price is ok, and I like that you can choose to just skate, or to do all of the activities there for a little more. The place is ran by volunteers and paid staff members. Unfortunately you get what you pay for and the place cleanliness suffers as a result. My kids really enjoyed the wall climb and skating rink but the inflatable bounce gym and playground seemed to have been over used without adequate up keep. Place has potential and I'm glad it's there, just wish it was more up kept. Btw. Food is "meh" at best. See more..
3.0Premiere Cinema 14(6 reviews) - Great Time At Movies! Spent 1-2 hours Movie Theaters There was nice staff, okay prices, clean theatre- enjoyable. My only complaint is that it is maybe a bit too expensive and some of the ads are inappropriate. Otherwise, it's good. Recommended!See more..
