Hurry and visit while it is still new, and hasn't flooded yet

Glad this place is open again, but with all the renovations, nothing was done to prevent flooding during the winter. Great place to visit, hike, and do day trips around the area. We set up camp here and do day trips to Huntsville Space Center, High Falls, Little River Canyon, Cherokee Rock City, Cathedral Caverns, The Stone Door, Racoon Mountain TVA Pump Storage Project, Ocoee River Rafting.

    Nice Little Park
We came across this park while on a road trip. We had brought a picnic lunch along and had first stopped at Guntersville State Park, but left there because the stench of burning garbage was very bad, so we drove a little further and found Buck's Pocket. The air was fresh and clean here, so we had our picnic here. It was very quiet. This was on a Friday. The lady in the office was very friendly and helpful. My husband talked with her about the ORV trail and camping. The campsites are close to one another, but are nice and look new. They are paved and have water, electricity, and many have sewage hookups as well. There were a few pull through sites. All of the sites looked long, but I don't think we could get to the park with our fifth wheel due to the narrow winding road. There were only 3 or 4 campers there and they were all smaller travel trailers. You can make reservations, but you have to pick your specific site after you arrive. It looked like there is a creek behind one side of the campsites, but it was dry. They had the usual playground equipment for kids, the restroom/shower room was clean, and the grounds were clean. We will probably go back for a day trip and take our ATV. Wish we could camp here.

    Great potential but management sucks
This park has great potential. Beautiful area and mostly quiet and relaxing. But the management is horrible. We were there for four days and saw a park employee only once. The lady who does check-ins was there for about 4 hrs one day and we never saw the ranger. The bathrooms were not cleaned The whole four days.
