    Mixed Feelings
To be clear, "Alabama Adventure" is now "Splash Adventure" and is a water park only - no rides. This fact is well advertised everywhere, so please do take the posted "False Advertisement" review with a grain of salt. I took my 8 and 5 y.o. kids to the reincarnated "Splash Adventure" and have mixed feelings about the water park. The water park is nicely sized and has a range of slides suitable from toddler through daredevil adults. The attractions were well maintained, clean, and well-watched by life guards. Additional new activities include a zip-line and an aqua-maze. Although my kids were too intimated by the middle- and advanced-level slides, the advanced slides looked really cool to me. The park is a medium sized and very accessible. The $26 admission is pricey but on-par with other similar water parks. A wonderful way to cool off in 100-degree weather. However, our pleasant trip was marred by some atrocious restroom conditions. The main restroom seemed nice, updated, well maintained. But at a satellite restroom (by the first aid station), the facilities were filthy and there was feces smeared on the stall wall. Later, we used a family restroom - I was taken aback by the filthy baby changing table that looked like it was 20 years old. Thank goodness my kids don't require diaper changes anymore! Pearls: - Go early in the morning at park opening. The place was a zoo by noon. The staff are meticulous and therefore lines do not move quickly. - The food options are thin. You may wish to go elsewhere for lunch. If you are OK with basic amusement park burgers and chicken nuggets, you will be satisfied. - Families with toddlers and little kids; there is an excellent area just for little kids with little slides and rides. - Families with little kids; there are two slides appropriate for 4-6 y.o. kids. Surprisingly, my kids were too intimidated by the next level of slides.

$6 to park, $27.95 for both amusement park and water park combo admission for those of us over 48"; beware: they issue you an armband that will not survive the water park. Amusement park: basically your everyday carnival type rides except for the big wooden roller coaster. My 12 year old was not impressed with the coaster, too tame. Both water type rides--log ride and river raft ride-- were shut down. Not a lot of rides for the middle school/teen set but quite a few little kid rides. There is not much shade in this park so hats, sunscreen and water is a must. Water park: minimal public tubes for the lazy river, you have to wear a life vest or rent a tube to use the wave pool. Also, don't sit in the beach chairs around the wave pool, you have to rent them! Good water slides for the most part. Kiddie play area was good. This park will please the younger set but my middle schooler was bored. Food was reasonably priced and good size portions. Souvenir shop was a disapointment, nothing special to commenorate our trip. All and all, my family will not visit Visionland again.
