Nice raised Board Walk
Heard that Wade Ward Nature Park can have some birds. Hard place to find parking for, but I figured that the Diner didn't mind an extra vehicle.. Nice raised 1/3 mile round trip board walk over some wet lands and marshes. This afternoon we saw only a couple of Pelicans and some ducks and some small birds that I am still not sure of. If you walk it at a leisurely pace maybe a half hour, so if in the area and can find parking do the walk !!~

Nature Walk in the Heart of Gulf Shores
If you are looking for something different to do in the touristy Gulf Shores area, this is a really great option. This is a small nature park right on the "main drag" in Gulf Shores. There are a few picnic tables and a really nice raised boardwalk over the marshy area where you can see alligators, turtles, birds and other wildlife. My only reason for the 4 star rating versus 5 is the challenging parking. Your best bet is to either park at a nearby restaurant (several are within easy walking distance of Wade Ward) and visit after your meal, or park at the spaces far behind the Pizza Hut right next door. This little park is a really nice oasis in the middle of all the beach crowds, so visit if you are looking for a free of charge change of pace.

Short Nature Walk
Took the short nature walk on the elevated walkway over streams and wet lands. It is a beautiful area and you can observe a number of different birds. The main problem is lack of a parking lot.
