We love covered bridges. We have been here before but never miss a chance to visit again if in the area. Of course we were blessed with meeting someone new and interesting while at the bridge. He started a conversation with us and ended up singing a couple of ballads for us. His name was Steve and he was a HOBO in the past. He and his lovely wife traveled to different HOBO conventions. He told us that there is a past documentary on National Geographic called "Love those Trains" on You Tube. He is on the show twice singing. At the end he is singing over the credits "I've been everywhere Man". Go view the documentary. It's very interesting. We are so happy that we decided to visit this bridge again.See more..
This is great for kids to older adults who like different things about different places. Was just here this last weekend; beautiful place, nice people around, historic, rustic, and you can walk short or long distances and view this fantastic landscape. Seen the cave at DeSoto and was looking for something else to round out the day - this is perfect or do them opposite. These places are going away for house building, developements, etc.. see it while you can you will not regret it.See more..

My history nerd self couldnt pass the opportunity to visit this covered bridge. It is interesting that it is placed neared a super busy area with soccer fields and a private school right across it, plus the resdential area. For pictures, park in the sports field. It is only a 1 minute walk. It has graffiti inside, which breaks my heart, but overall the bridge is well-preserved and located over a natural, not man-made, creek which gives it its dignity back. It was a privilege to see this preserved piece. Kuwani's club (Kiwani? sp?) were responsible for this to happen. KUDOSSee more..
I can't believe I am reviewing a bridge! But as I drove across it I found good and bad. I was disappointed that I couldn't see the Mobile river better. It was a let down. But. The horizon as you are going thru the span was beautiful. And after you come down from the Mobile river crossing toy cross over the Delta and do get a nice view of the Tensaw River. Overall it got us from Mobile county to Baldwin county so it works. See more..
