Please keep this piece of history safe!

My history nerd self couldnt pass the opportunity to visit this covered bridge. It is interesting that it is placed neared a super busy area with soccer fields and a private school right across it, plus the resdential area. For pictures, park in the sports field. It is only a 1 minute walk. It has graffiti inside, which breaks my heart, but overall the bridge is well-preserved and located over a natural, not man-made, creek which gives it its dignity back. It was a privilege to see this preserved piece. Kuwani's club (Kiwani? sp?) were responsible for this to happen. KUDOS

    hunting bridges
we traveled to Gadsden,Alabama to fynd 10 covered bridges scattered in different areas, We found salem-Shotwell to be well preserved near a park and school. It seemed to be close to several hiking trails as well. We piciniked in the Park before traveling to another. we located 9 of the 10 bridges during our travels.

    Neat bridge and park!
We visited this bridge at Municipal 'Monkey' Park in Opelika. We parked near the playground and the mini vintage train the Rocky Brook Rocket. The mini train is $1 per person and runs April - Oct 2019 on Sat & Sun from 2-5 pm, weather permitting. We rode the train around and located the bridge on the far right end of the park. We then walked down to the bridge to see it. There is also a walking path behind the bridge but we did not walk it as it was a bit warm that day. A great few hidden gems in the area. The park has restrooms and I even seen wifi pop up on my phone.
