The Witch City Walking Tours exceeded our group’s expectations! Please request RYAN as your tour guide as he was well rehearsed, very much knowledgeable about the history of the city and various locations, and frequently checked the understanding/questions of his guests. His passion made the tour 100% more interesting and his punny dad jokes made for a fun time. The tour itself covered information in great detail regarding Salem Witch Trial info., individuals within history in relation to the hysteria, various standing locations, etc. 5 out of 5 stars very well earned! Would not recommend to those not able/fit to walk and stop without seating as it’s a quick moving tour, only stopping with enough time to discuss historical info./stories, and continue moving throughout the city on roughly a 1 mile walk. Our tour guide, Jeff, was great! The tour was two hours but his storytelling made time fly. You could tell he has a passion for the true history of the Salem Witch Trials and the city itself. We booked the 5pm tour which was perfect as the crowds on Essex were insane at this time so it gave us something to do while they died down a little bit. See more..

Michael is an excellent guy. He has this voice that encapsulates you into the whole experience. Very informative. I especially liked the Houdini story. Would definitely go again. Even though the city is crowded, that’s to be expected, he was patient with waiting to let the others catch up. See more..

Allison was spectacular. She took us all around the city at a great pace and taught us an incredible amount of history during the tour. This tour is a must for any first time visitors, I’d recommend doing it at the beginning of your trip, as you’ll likely leave the tour with a lot of knowledge about good places to eat/drink. Allison made sure we had several opportunities for bathroom stops as well as coffee for the cold weather, and she even followed up with an email after our tour with a list of all of her food recommendation spots. Highly recommended experience. See more..
  5. 5.0 North End Boston Food Tour (743 reviews)
    - Fun, Food and History - Excellent!!!

North End Boston Food Tour image
Great Experience!!! Bobby led us to the well known and hidden gems of the North End (bakeries, salumerie and restaurants). We sampled pizza, an Italian sub, prosciutto, Italian pastries and olive oil to name just a few of the authentic foods we tasted. We were introduced to a pastry called sfogliatelle. It is a delicate layered pastry filled with orange flavored ricotta - to die for. And, what is a tour of the North End without a cannoli from Mike's Pastry. Bobby grew up and still lives in the North End and shared his experiences and insights into how the North End has changed over the last 50 plus years. So informative. I would highly recommend this tour whether you are visiting Boston or, like me, live only 30 minutes away. See more..

Wow! What an amazing tour of the North End where I used to live back in 1999. Who would have thought that one person can so perfectly combine food with historical knowledge of this Italian jewel in the midst of Boston. And of course the joyous, diligent and knowledgeable Paula! Not to leave out us bursting into singing (guide and guests included) in the midst of one of our tour stops... maybe it was the shot of olive oil or the aged balsamic vinegar :) come taste and see for yourself... Absolutely excellent tour and guide. Mike took us from the early revolutionary days through the most iconic moments in the War to the conclusion (guess what, Britain lost). Seeing the actual places where these events took place was amazing. I‘ve never had so much fun learning about history! See more..

The private (affordable for our group of 8!) two hour welcome tour of the Freedom Trail was the perfect way to see these sites. Ted is of course knowledgeable when it comes to Boston, the Freedom Trail and history, but additionally he really took our comfort into consideration on a hot morning in the city, guiding us to shaded areas and seating before telling us about a site. He is very engaging, gives an excellent tour with the background of issues at each site, and it feels like hanging out with a friend rather than someone you just met or a dry historian. The time flew by and the walking was easy. Everyone in our group, even the teens, agreed a tour really was the best way to see the Freedom Trail and we all would highly recommend Ted and Hub Town Tours. See more..

A family of 13 took this tour yesterday October 23. Matt was our guide and he was a lot of fun, very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. This is our second tour in the last three years and we enjoyed it very much. We enjoyed all the stops on the tour and the restaurant owners were very accommodating and very nice. Highly recommended.
