3 Star Places To Visit in Utah, United States (50)
3.5Lagoon Amusement Park(754 reviews) - Fun but Expensive for what you get Amusement & Theme Parks
Lagoon is one of the only family owned amusement parks left in the country. With over 60 thrilling rides, 40 challenging games, live entertainment, a beautiful water park, the largest "kiddie land" of any amusement park in the nation, Pioneer Village, and the Campground, Lagoon offers something for everyone to enjoy.See more..
The free Little Hollywood Movie Museum , a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt non profit, exhibits a collection of actual movie sets as the centerpiece of its exploration of how the sleepy little town of Kanab became the back lot for movies like The Outlaw Josey Wales, Planet Of The Apes & Stagecoach and a haunt for Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Charleton Heston, Clint Eastwood and more recently, Kiefer Sutherland and Willem Dafoe. Both on the big screen and on TV in such classics as The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke and Lassie, Southern Utah defines the way we see the American West. The Museum is set behind Trading Post of the West, a gift shop focused on Made in the USA merchandise including fair trade Native American Arts and Jewelry, Stetson Hats and Abilene boots. From fine gifts to fun souvenirs Trading Post of the West offers a great selection at fair prices. There are big clean restrooms, snacks, drinks and a picnic area. Kid and pet friendly. Whether you have 15 minutes or over an hour, it's a fun place to stop.See more..
3.5Moqui Cave(447 reviews) - Rave in a Cave Sunday: Spent < 1 hour Ancient Ruins • History Museums
An Ancient history museum inside a natural sandstone Cave. Come check out our dinosaur tracks, fossils, artifacts and much much more!See more..
3.5Mystic hot Springs(230 reviews) - A blast from the past! Hot Springs & Geysers
This review is specific to the "soaking experience" which lasts 2 hours and costs $25 per person. There are other amenities on site (glamping, massages, etc.). If you visit the website while booking, I like that they provide history about that spot that has been around since the late 1800s, and that they do their best to prepare you for what to expect. The hot springs are a blast from the past - very hippiesh as others have said. It's a bit rough around the edges, but honestly that's part of the charm! If you're looking for a luxurious 5-star hot springs, this might not be it. But if you're looking for something with a story and is off the beaten path, this is a must! There are beautiful views from the different tubs. I can imagine that this is an extra fun spot during a music festival. Definitely recommend if you're driving through the area.See more..
3.5Crystal Hot Springs(209 reviews) - Prices are to high. Sunday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Game & Entertainment Centers
I really enjoy a place to go relax and soak but this will be last time I go to Crystal Hot Springs. They have raised their prices to outrageously. It will be more reasonable for me to drive an hour away to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho and bring friends.See more..

3.0Metaphor - Tree of Utah(101 reviews) - Watch from the road!! Points of Interest & Landmarks
Read about this tree of Utah and was looking out for it on our drive to the salt flats. Very odd pice of art.See more..
3.5Rodeo(98 reviews) - Easy Family Fun Game & Entertainment Centers
What is more patriotic on July 4th in cowboy country than a rodeo? We dropped in on the Bryce Canyon Country Rodeo and arrived during the National Anthem to find the SRO tickets were only $3 (a $10 discount). Definitely worth the price. We enjoyed bronc riders, kids on sheep, barrell racing, and some version of musical chairs done with cowboys and girls, horses, a barrell, and tubs. The rodeo outlasted my southern thermostat. But it was definitely fun if a little lacking in organization.See more..
3.5The Beach At Sand Hollow(77 reviews) - Time management is suspect Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Gear Rentals
Although very conveniently located the services were lacking with over booking, unfueled atvs and poor time management. Consequently although our group was first for the day scheduled at 930am a week in advance we were an atv short for 2 people and left at 10am....the money was refunded for the short but it left a poor taste on vacation after, who wants to deal with that? If its not a spur of the moment decision there are other outfitters in Hurricane and Saint George who only focus on motorsports and not paddleboards, jet skis and boats. (Side note a lady who drove from CA didn't get her boat because it broke down and they didn't have a spare without bumping someone else)..... Having said all that sand hollow trails and our guide were great and well worth the adventure.... management not having their act together made it an average experience. MICHAEL WASHINGTONSee more..
3.0Willard Bay State Park(66 reviews) - Not so good in the camp area!! State Parks • Parks
Started off showing up 45 minutes before entry time of 3:00 pm. The park was pretty empty probably less than 1/3 full. No one was in our reserved spots nor had they been cleaned up! We were told to pay a 15$ day use fee if we wanted to set up early.0r we could leave and come back!!. Got settled in and my gosh horrible clusters of bugs! Sprayed up took a walk to the bay beach area, really beautiful scenery and the sun was out for about two hours. Nice breeze by the water got the bugs off for awhile, kayaking, fishing and boating would be fun here, we were only spending the night! Had drinks and dinner, played Mexican train for awhile and turned in about 9:30pm. Traffic was from freeway all night long then train noise started early like 4:30! Left at 8:00am to get on our way to Moab! Probably won’t camp there again! Too many bugs!!See more..
3.5Nordic Valley Ski Resort(63 reviews) - I still call it Wolf Mountain... Ski & Snowboard Areas
This is the place to go if you are just starting out as a beginner skier or boarder. Why you ask? Well, it's cheap. It's not busy. It's not too steep. It's not too scary. It's not too far away from Salt Lake City (just a bit over an hour drive). Also, night skiing is available. 4 stars seems about right for what you pay and what you end up. Bear in mind that this is a very small resort at about one-third the size of most medium size mountain resorts. But the advantage there is that it's must less intimidating and less lightly to give you that "where am I" feeling when you ski to the bottom. Lift tickets are priced way under $100 (typically between $21 and $80 depending on the day). One other thing... their food prices are quite reasonable when you compare them to the other mountain resorts in Utah.See more..
It is a dying town, not a ghost yet. In fact, the decaying buildings and trailers which are abandoned are remnants of the oil and uranium boom of the 20th century. A cursory examination didn’t reveal any remnants of the 19th century town that once was. The people who live here don’t welcome fame nor attention. Abandoned buildings are signed “no trespassing.” There are better, more authentic ghost towns out there. See more..
3.0Bullfrog Marina(53 reviews) - Breaking in our son’s new boat Marinas
If you are accessing North Lake Powell, the Bullfrog Marina is a great choice. The boat ramp is large and can accommodate several boats at one time. There is also a convenient gas station nearby. See more..
3.5Barefoot Tubing(41 reviews) - Stay on your toes! River Rafting & Tubing
Went on an 11 AM trip in late June 2020. Air temp was about 80, water temp was about 60, pretty brisk but all in all bearable and not an issue. We had a group of 8 head up with coolers in tow thinking we would be able to bring them along but once we got out there, we understood why they don't allow coolers on this river. For those wanting a lazy float drinking beer and chatting, go somewhere else. This float does give you moments of being able to relax but there is a lot of paddling and being aware of rocks/trees/rapids that must be taken into account. The only reason this wasn't a 5-star review is that the staff weren't exactly cordial (the driver was nice, the check-in guy was not) and they didn't have any Covid-19 precautions in place (we were all in the same van on the ride up to the launch spot). Otherwise, I'd do this again in a heartbeat, it was a great way to spend a summer afternoon.See more..
3.5Yuba State Park(39 reviews) - Would come back again State Parks
Came here just for a quiet day by the water. Water seemed clean. You can park your car right at the shore if you want. Family friendly place as well. $15 on the weekend per car. Water sports also allowed, just didn’t partake. Hazy outside from the wildfires out west today.See more..
3.0Jungle Jim's Playland(31 reviews) - Indoor Fun for Kids Sunday: Game & Entertainment Centers
Great indoor 'carnival' for the kids who might be going stir crazy in bad weather. Enough to do to keep the little ones happy and the price per child is reasonable for what you get.See more..
3.5Church Rock(31 reviews) - One of Thousands Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is not something you would go out of your way to see. If you're driving between Moab and monticello utah, you will see it along with several other lone formations. You can't get close so good photo requires a zoom lens. It will be many of 100's you will take in the Canyonlands and arches National Park area.See more..
From this hill you can see the small town of Green River, Utah, with the bookcliffs as its dramatic backdrop, and the interstate, and, of course, the large sculptures known as Ratio and Elements. As a local I enjoy going up this hill to watch sunsets. If you are in town and are looking for something to do in the evening I would recommend at least checking this place out. To get there: Turn South onto Airport road Carefully cross the tracks Immediately after the tracks turn right (West) down the dirt road (if you pass under the interstate you have gone too far, basically if you go 50 feet past the tracks you have gone too far), Follow this road to the top of the hill and enjoySee more..
We love to visit old ghost towns, Old Irontown doesn’t have much remaining. There is an old beehive charcoal kiln and some remains of old foundations as well as a chimney. There are a few trails to hike as well as several informative signs. This is a great place, on your road trip, to get out and stretch your legs and learn something at the same time. There are outhouses available! No other amenities.See more..
3.0Saltair Pavilion(25 reviews) - A Vestige of the Past Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
Unfortunately, this historic site is not often open to tourists. We wandered in through an open gate to discover the once elegant property is now the venue for late night concerts and raves. Don't detour off of I-80 thinking you'll get to stroll through history. Unless things change......right now you need to be young and half naked and eager to get wild until the sunrise to enjoy this venue.See more..
3.0Rockport State Park(24 reviews) - Not fancy but still fun at the marina Sunday: 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours State Parks
Rockport State Park is a popular reservoir and campground located 15 miles east of Park City. Activities include fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, paddle boarding, and camping.See more..
A great place to camp! It is a great place to camp. The sites are easily accessible and have good tent pads, tables, fire pits and even tables for your propane stoves. The camp hosts were very helpful. We stayed on the ebinezer loop. Linda and her husband work hard to keep the restrooms and campground clean. We loved it so much that we are headed back tomorrow. :)See more..
3.5The Great Saltair(19 reviews) - Off the Beaten Path for a 3 hour layover Spent 1-2 hours Theaters
I wanted to see the lake from somewhere besides an airplane and had a short time to do it. So, I rented a car and drove out to Saltair and the state park (about 20 min. from the airport). I had read about the heydays of Saltair - a who's who resort of an era gone by - and was a bit curious. Actually, there's not much to see. However, I loved the gift shop where there is plenty of info on the old resort and a scale model of the Great Saltair. Bought a couple of souvenirs and headed on to the park (which was another good stop for seeing/touching the lake, learning history and geology, and shopping the museum gift shop). The video about Salt Lake captured my interest and kept me a bit longer than planned. There's some grassy areas for playing and lookouts to the lake. I didn't see any place to grab something to eat or drink. Entry to the park was $3 per car and was well worth it! Hopped back in the car and headed back to the airport! All in all - about 2 hours.See more..
3.5Cherry Peak Ski Resort(16 reviews) - First Time Skiing Spent More than 3 hours Gear Rentals • Ski & Snowboard Areas
30 min Away from Logan City. I went there to try skiing for the first time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The lounge was war and well equipped with a nice restaurant to have some snacks. The only thing I did not like was the beginner track (not the magic carpet) I did not feel its really good for beginners as it was narrow.See more..
3.5Great Salt Lake State Park(16 reviews) - Quick stop to view the lake Sunday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Observation Decks & Towers
We were passing through and wanted to get a closer look at the lake. We went in the evening and could tell it was going to be a nice sunset. Pets allowed and you pay a $5 entrance fee. It was just ok. Pretty smelly and no one was swimming. Water levels seemed really low too. Worth a stop still.See more..
We had driven through Hurricane several times and had always meant to stop off at this little museum and today we managed to - it’s delightful and true to the local history and the original settlers. There is a fabulous wall full of photos of all the descendants of one of the original couples who settled in Hurricane around 130 years ago, their 7 or 8 children, their grandchildren and great grandchildren - it’s absolutely amazing to think all of those people originating from a couple who emigrated from England all those years ago - fascinating! And the chap looking after the museum was just lovely, very welcoming and eager to point out various exhibits... well worth an hour or so if your time!See more..
This small cabin and mud house give you a feel for how the family lived. You are not able to enter the buildings, but can see in them. We learned some interesting info about the family from the Gypsy app, otherwise this stop may have been a head scratcher. It shares parking with the Delicate Arch hike to the arch, so the lot is busy. It is also the stop to see the petroglyphs.See more..
We visit this restaurant every year we are in town. There is quite a bit of seating available but we prefer sitting at a table in the bar area. Every visit the service is friendly and the food is about average. We do enjoy the chips and salsa.See more..
3.5Spa At Zermatt(11 reviews) - Review of the Spa at Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah Spas
Having been to numerous spas across the US and Mexico I was disappointed. The spa service itself (coffee scrub) was great and the technician was very nice. I have had a coffee scrub before and was expecting the aromatic aspect of the coffee and was disappointed there was NO aroma. The site lists the use of a waterfall hot tub, steam room, aromatic grotto, and pool. These are all part of the HOTEL, not the Spa. The dressing room for the spa was the dressing room for the weight room. The waiting area was nice, no music but had fresh cucumber / lime water and a fireplace. The steam room was being totally remodeled and CLOSED. You had to walk through the hotel guest in the weight room to get to the CLOSED steam room. We were not told this when booking our reservation. I assume the grotto is attached to that as well, never found it, nor was told where it was. The (2) hot tubs are in the indoor/outdoor pool area where ALL THE SCREAMING CHILDREN were. Definitely not part of the spa, thus clothing was required. When you are paying a hundreds of dollars for Spa treatments and the whole Spa experience this was not worth the money. Won't waste my money there again. See more..
3.5Great Stone Face(11 reviews) - Love this place Geologic Formations
My brothers and sisters and our families spend a few hours here most every Easter. The hike up to the Face is fun for all (even small children can make it with help as it is steep in a couple of places) and the adventurous can climb the rock itself to the top for a great view of the vast Basin and Range desert. There are Indigenous rock art examples hidden among the rocks if you look hard enough as well as the rock covered with art just before you get to the Face. Personally, I think the rock has a remarkable resemblance to the well know portrait of Joseph Smith.See more..
3.5Fun Park(10 reviews) - It's not Chuck E Cheese's Game & Entertainment Centers And that's fantastic. Chuck E Cheese's is the worst of the worst. This place at least has like 3 things adults can enjoy. Bowling, billiards and quiet time while your children place in the Soft Play. It's even a place you can have a snack and a secret sip of your favorite beverage since it's not monitored by the staff. Don't leave your children unattended though. For some reason college kids go here and play in the children area. So bring a boomerang and a slingshot to defend your tiny look-a-likes. See more..
3.5Hole-in-the Rock(10 reviews) - Best part was Devil's Garden Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations

We travel to San Francisco from Indiana once or twice a year via I-80, and always make a point of stopping at this specific westbound rest stop. There are some informative signs and paved trails to various viewing sites. Sometimes we even use the facilities. Best rest stop of the whole trip. See more..
3.5The Links at Overlake(3 reviews) - The Links Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
This is a quiet course to play. I was really surprised that there were not more people out playing when I arrived. The course is well designed around many ponds and has lots of sand. Fairways are wide open, no trees to contend with just the native grass along the sides that I couldn't seem to stay out of. Good value, well maintained and very friendly staff. I was very happy I chose to play here. I hope to be back very soon.See more..
