Wasn’t sure what to expect. When you first pull up it looks rather small. When we went in we were warmly greeted by the young man at the desk. We received the senior discount so admission was very reasonable. The museum is much larger than it appeared. Had numerous full scale dinosaurs and a interesting room dedicated to movies with dinosaurs as the main characters. They had old movie clips and posters. I would say this is a worthwhile stop if your traveling through town. See more..

Millard County's Great Basin Museum image
Visitors won't be disappointed at this rare small town museum with its many artifacts and fossils unique to the area. My husband and I learned so much about the history of Utah's land and the people that have occupied the area. We had never heard of Lake Bonneville or that it covered most of Utah! The museum does a wonderful presentation replicating local life with many original pieces that have been donated (like an entire wooden store counter complete with the items for sale, Dick and Jane story boards that teachers would have shown their class, medical and dental set ups with real equipment, travel, etc.) There is also a working model railroad with a current satellite photo that still shows the giant imprint left of the earth! Visit the website for more details and then go and let one of their friendly docents share their personal memories! See more..

    - Cute local life museum
Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • History Museums
    Hurricane Valley Pioneer Museum image
We had driven through Hurricane several times and had always meant to stop off at this little museum and today we managed to - it’s delightful and true to the local history and the original settlers. There is a fabulous wall full of photos of all the descendants of one of the original couples who settled in Hurricane around 130 years ago, their 7 or 8 children, their grandchildren and great grandchildren - it’s absolutely amazing to think all of those people originating from a couple who emigrated from England all those years ago - fascinating! And the chap looking after the museum was just lovely, very welcoming and eager to point out various exhibits... well worth an hour or so if your time! See more..
