4.5Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park(7.351 reviews) - Do a tour, and drive the loop on your own Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
Stunning. If I were spiritual, I would add that in. A few cautions: currently the tribal elders decreed that all visitors have to exit the loop road by 7 pm. Unfortunately, sunset is now (Sep 1st) an hour later. When your tour ends, as sunset approaches, head to the The View Hotel - pass through the Gift Shop to the south east decks (where diners might eat if/when their restaurant re-opens; still under COVID restrictions) In fact, masks have to be worn in open air - including in tour vehicles. Highly recommend the Dineh Bekayah tour group; female owned (one of the only in the Valley) female managed, female guides. All very professional. Bring cash to save on 8% tax. Some tours done through Goulding’s etc inc the Navajo Nation entry fee of $20/ car w/ 2 pax. Request a refund if you already paid the latter online or while driving the 17 mile loop on your own beforehand.See more..

Iconic spot. It's a must do if you're going to Monument Valley. Even if you don't know about or don't care about Forrest Gump, it's a fantastic view of Monument Valley. If you come from Kayenta, past the entrance...it's about 10 minutes further up the road toward Mexican Hat UT. Cars are good about slowing down and yielding for people in the road taking pictures.See more..
4.0Mexican Hat Rock Formation(487 reviews) - Those Who Love Geology Will Enjoy Seeing This Little Rock Formation. To Others And Children, They Call It Cute! Points of Interest & Landmarks
A very unique rock formation created by geologic processes over millions of years. Mexican Hat is "cute" and quite photogenic. It lies on the road beween the Moki Dugway and Monument Valley. The layered rocks near it are also colorful and unique.See more..
We were driving to our next stop when we saw this sign about prehistoric Native American rock art and had to stop. Crossed the road and took a look. It was amazing to see the figures carved into the rock. As I stood there I thought about what stories the people who carved the pictures were trying to tell us. Was it how their journey to the area was like? The animals and things they saw? There are two different kinds of art - pictographs and petroglyphs. Pictographs are painted on the rock while petroglyphs are chiseled, incised or pecked. The pictures were interesting and cool. What was disappointing was the graffiti people left behind. Do stop to admire the petroglyphs and pictographs.See more..
4.5Union Station(306 reviews) - Love the Lobby and the Toy Train Sunday: Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
For 50 years this stately and historic depot served as a major hub for transcontinental rail service. The Fremont Petroglyphs are amazing. They are just off the road and there is a good parking area. There is a short boardwalk from the parking area to the view of the Petroglyphs. It is worth spending time to look at the rocks and find the various petroglyphs and to read the material the National Park has posted. This is one of the best-known stops in Capitol Reef National Park. These petroglyphs were made by indigenous peoples many centuries ago in the Fremont River Valley. It was amazing to see artwork that was created so many years ago. I highly recommend a visit to the Fremont Petroglyphs in Capitol Reef National Park.See more..
4.5Historic 25th Street(288 reviews) - Fun Area to Spend Some Time Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas
Fun area to explore while visiting Ogden. Lots of restaurants in the area as well as a few shops! Many had limited hours and seem to be open mostly Thursday - Sunday. Also a number of the restaurants don’t open until the evening hours. It was still fun to explore and there are informational signs along the street and on some of the buildings explaining the history of this street. Also, right down the street from here is the Utah train museum and other small museums.See more..

5.0South Coyote Buttes(272 reviews) - Amazing formations and a fantastic guide! Points of Interest & Landmarks
So much to see, all of it breathtaking! Plan ahead to be sure you have a permit and are prepared with water and sunscreen. Due to permit limitations, it’s possible you might not see another person while you’re there, which allows for great photo opportunities. My spouse and I spent the day hiking through the amazing formations and being wowed by the beauty and peacefulness with the help of our guide from Dreamland Tours—Orion, made it an unforgettable experience! He was very personable and very knowledgeable about what we were seeing and about the history of the area. In addition to being a fantastic guide on-site, he was an extremely capable driver over some intimidating terrain.See more..

4.5Sand Island Petroglyphs(187 reviews) - Great stopping point on the way to Bears Ears! Points of Interest & Landmarks
Just travel west out of Bluff Utah about 3 miles on state highway 191. At mile post 22.1, turn south into the well signed Sand Island Campground. The panel is signed and easy to spot along the cliff band on the north side of the camp ground. Here behind a fence is a large panel of over 100 yards of rock art that spans everything from archaic to modern times. The sheer amount of art along with the time range it represents tells us that this area must have held special significance. The Sand Island Recreation Area is open year-round and access to the rock art is easy!See more..
We happened to be in the area and saw this show up on the map, and felt it was worth the drive to check out. It really was. We learnt so much about the history of this town and the plight faced by the Baker Fancher wagon train. The memorial site is really well kept, is informative and evokes a peaceful atmosphere. We went as a couple but this would be really interesting for families.See more..
Cassidy Arch Trail is named after the famous Butch Cassidy!! The arch is located just off of the Scenic Drive, within the western walls of Grand Wash. The arch is large and spectacular, with great photo opportunities from almost any angle. It sits 400 feet above the Scenic Drive. Cassidy Arch Trail is a 3.5 out-and-back scenic trail, and takes about 2 hours. The climb is steep at times, but definitely worth the effort, as the views are spectacular! 4.5Spiral Jetty(76 reviews) - Family time with friends Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is a beautiful place to visit but before I go any further, here are some important tips: *there's no potable water so you need to bring your own *bring extra water to rinse your feet, face etc *better if you drive an SUV or truck *dirt road for about 15-20 min *bring snacks *no toilets near by *the salt is very thick and sticks to you automatically when you touch the water *no cell service It's a very breathtaking location. The pink water brings joy looking at it and splashing around. You can also do a little hiking before you get in the water. It's very relaxing and it seems to just calm you down and take in the beauty. See more..
4.5Wolfe Ranch Rock Art(72 reviews) - Fascinating Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks

4.0Whale Rock(62 reviews) - Must do - not as hard as it looks Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Hiking Trails
This was an awesome surprise on our trip to CNP. We were able to do it with a 7, 5, 4 year old (going carefully and safely). Little hard to keep on trail (not clearly marked in the bottom, so follow other people up). Great 360 views at the top, lots of fun, definitely a memorable experience. See more..
We were driving from West to East, & almost missed this. No sign. There is a sign if you're driving from East to West. The parking lot is large & there were about 5 cars there when we arrived. There's a pit toilet & an information board. The hike is 1 mile there & back. I would say a moderate hike, due to the slickrock scramble the last 300 feet. Until then, easy. I liked the ruins. They are clearly visible, but you can't hike to them. There's also benches if you need a break.See more..
4.5The Real UP House(53 reviews) - A highlight of our visit to SLC, only 40 minutes south of town Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
I read about this private home and had to visit. We drove from SLC to see it. The owners are okay for you to stay outside the fence and take a few selfies (about 5 minutes). 4.5Moonshine Arch(48 reviews) - Easy Day Hike Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
Easy drive from Vernal. Once you turn off 191 to 301, for a moment it looks like your on someone's driveway because there's a mailbox. But there is no house there. Road not maintained. Its "wilderness" like. An SUV or higher vehicle can make it all the way back to a large, man-made, gravel cul-de -sac with boulders lining the perimeter. From there, your on foot winding your way through unmaintained trails. Follow the footprints before you.. they'll guide you to the Arch. Truly magnificent. A must do.See more..
4.5Grosvenor Arch(47 reviews) - LOVE the Arch; Not the Rough Road Points of Interest & Landmarks
Even though Cottonwood Canyon Road is long and dirty, the Arch was worth the trip. We did other hikes along the way to break up the driving time, but beware that the road is very bumpy and dusty. We were surprised to find a paved sidewalk and restrooms out there after hours of just dirt, sand, and rock. It felt like we were walking up to a castle. You can go right under the large arches which is a very cool view. We had beautiful blue sky when we were there so our pictures turned out great. Not many people take the long adventurous dirt road, so it's a quiet and peaceful area. Probably best with a 4 wheel drive vehicle with large tires, but we took an AWD sport van and it did fine. We drove from 89 north to the Kodachrome exit. The second half of the drive is definitely more scenic than the first half.See more..

4.5Wahweap Hoodos(32 reviews) - Shortcut for only 3 miles r.t. hiking to this amazing place. Points of Interest & Landmarks
You don't have to hike the 10+miles to visit this place. We didn't. Mark "Wahweap Hoodos" on your phone, and enter GPS coordinates 37.166732, -11.722128 and Google Map will route you from US89 to Cottonwood Canyon Rd and then other roads. Please note the road is unpaved and condition may change. Anyway, drive with caution and good judgement. If the road has a blm # assigned to it, it is managed by blm. You may have to cross a couple cattle gates, leave them the way you pass them. Depending on your vehicle, you may still able to drive beyond this coordinates. Anyway, then you walk toward the wash/creek and walk upwards. Round trip is less then 3 miles. -- please note, the information was accurate til end of 2015. Please use your caution and judgement as the road condition may have changed and maybe there are new sign/rules about using these roads.See more..

3.5Church Rock(31 reviews) - One of Thousands Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks

4.0ATK Rocket Garden(30 reviews) - Cool place in the middle of nowhere Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
Part of the Northrop Grumman facility. It’s right infront of their main office building facing Hwy 83. Features a wide variety of displayed rockets (some of which were used for the space shuttle). Many of the displays have plaques that explain the different rockets. The area is free and open year round accessible via a walkway from the Northrop office parking lot. It’s about a 45 min round trip drive coming from Brigham City or Tremonton freeway exit with nothing in-between. If going there from Tremonton be aware that W Faust Valley Rd is fairly steep in areas and would be difficult to traverse in winter conditions or with trailers. Also during summer time the grass field between the garden and Hwy is a nesting ground for mosquitoes that can plague the garden during warmer times of the year.See more..
4.0Dinosaur Footprint Parowan Gap(29 reviews) - Great side trip, especially for kids interested in dinosaurs Points of Interest & Landmarks
Take a quick side trip off of I-15 east of Parowan to see these Dinosaur Footprints and also the Parowan Gap Petroglyphs. You could rush in less time, but take an hour overall to see both. Several footprints are well marked. Hopefully the site will be respected since there are no barriers or protection of the fossilized footprints. To get here, take the Parowan exit, find 400 North, and go west on 400 North. You will cross the freeway. Just follow the road for 9 or 10 miles. You can't miss them.See more..
4.5The Hogback(26 reviews) - Great views Very safe Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Drives
Everybody has their opinion I feel very safe the road is wide with wide pull offs. Safe to get out and take pictures. We like the view of the road coming from the south. I would be very careful of young kids as there are drop offs if out of the car at pull offs. EnjoySee more..
3.0Saltair Pavilion(25 reviews) - A Vestige of the Past Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
Unfortunately, this historic site is not often open to tourists. We wandered in through an open gate to discover the once elegant property is now the venue for late night concerts and raves. Don't detour off of I-80 thinking you'll get to stroll through history. Unless things change......right now you need to be young and half naked and eager to get wild until the sunrise to enjoy this venue.See more..
4.5Cub Creek Petroglyphs(25 reviews) - Some of the finest petroglyphs around. Points of Interest & Landmarks

John Ford's Point if one of the most iconic and scenic spots in the Navajo Tribal Park in Monument Valley. It is one of the first places one reaches after heading out on the drive from the visitor centre, either by one's own car (during the permitted hours), or by tour. It was used during filming of westerns and it has sweeping views. There are also touristy things related to westerns there which one can pay for- photo ops, etc., including horses to hire for photos.See more..

If you are going during the summer time, show up early. It gets pretty hot around 12. We collected around 50 pounds of geodes. Can't wait to open them at homeSee more..
This is a location I just happen to see using Google Maps. It is a half hour drive east of Nephi. The drive up the mountain in itself is a wonderful view and experience. It is a small road with a lot of switchbacks. Watch out for small rocks and that ledge at the side of the road. There is a small parking spot at the very top with a picnic table. Just a 2 minute walk and you will be at the overlook. They call it the "Mini-Bryce Canyon", but I think I like this better than Bryce Canyon, being so close to the hoodoos.See more..
