    - Amazing canyoneering Experience

Zion Rock & Mountain Guides image
We were not sure what to expect when we booked our canyoneering adventure, but our experience far exceeded our expectations. From our initial introductions when we entered the shop throughout our 5 hours together, every step was fantastic. Jackson was our guide and coach for the day and he was fantastic. Traveling with 2 adults and 2 kids under 10, we were incredibly impressed with the knowledge, patience, understanding and commitment to providing the best possible experience for our family. He took the extra time to make sure that we all had a great time and really helped the kids feel comfortable in the climbs and rappels and they had a great time because of his hand holding and support. We would recommend Zion rock and mountain guides to anyone looking to get out and explore more of what Zion has to offer and make sure to ask for Jackson! See more..

  5. 4.5 Pa'rus Trail (219 reviews)
    - Recommend for sunset
    Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
    Pa'rus Trail image
If you're looking for an easy, peaceful walk in Zion, I recommend Pa'Rus Trail, specifically at sunset. Do know that most of the trail is exposed to the sun, so I wouldn't do it in the heat of the day. It begins at the visitor center and initially winds through the campground area before opening up in the valley. It is paved and pretty much totally level. You get awesome views of the peaks around you, and at sunset, the tops of them are lit up glowing gold by the setting sun. See more..
  6. 4.5 Poison Spider Trail (84 reviews)
    - Petroglyphs and Dinosaur Tracks Trail
    Biking Trails
    Poison Spider Trail image
There is a gravel parking lot here with various trails. We did the Indian Petroglyph and Dinosaur Tracks trail. If you are in decent shape and not afraid of heights, the trail is easy and you can reach the top within 15min or so. I would not bring young kids because the trail is steep, narrow, and not super clear at all times. Both tracks and petroglyphs are in good condition and easy to see. Along this same road, there are more petroglyph sites and they are signed and have turnouts to park at. See more..

This park sits on the left as you enter Moab. It's right along the Colorado River and has a beautiful bridge spanning the water you can walk across. The views and high red rocks are beautiful! There are tables and pavilions. And it's right by a bike trail path with tunnel. See more..

  12. 4.5 Coal Creek Trail (16 reviews)
    - Scenic Bike Ride
Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
    Coal Creek Trail image
We are visiting the area and we were looking somewhere to ride bikes. The Coal Creek Trail fit the bill for us. Very easy to find the Bicentennial Park trailhead from the Cedar City KOA. The trail was clean and we only saw other trail users. Not too much elevation gain or loss which helped our sea level lungs and legs acclimate to the altitude. The route took us along Veteran's Park which has a individual memorials for WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq & Afghanistan. (See separate review) Farther up the trail we saw beautiful views of the red rock canyon. The only complaint was that the trail could've kept going farther up the canyon. See more..

Rented e-bikes from Greater Zion E-Bike Rentals in La Verkin. They delivered my bike up here to the trail system. I was hesitant to rent an e-bike at first but it turned out amazing. I was able to handle the trails with no problem and use the assist up the hills. The views from the mesa were amazing overlooking down below. See more..
  14. 4.0 Thunderbird Gardens Trailhead (5 reviews)
    - Disc Golf Review
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
    Thunderbird Gardens Trailhead image
This review is just for Thunderbird Gardens Disc Golf Course. I've played over 40 courses on the West Coast. 2 of my favorites were in the 3 Peaks Area in Cedar City. I decided to try this one and I was happy that I did. It was a challenging course and was really scenic. Hole 18 is amazing. It places you at the top of the mountain and you're throwing it all the way down. You have to scale rocks to get down to the bottom. I netted a 450 ft drive on that hole. This course tests a lot of different types of shots. Cedar City is such an amazing place for disc golf. I need to come back to Cedar City for multiple days just to play disc golf! :). On a side note, I was even par up until hole 15 when I threw my disc off the side of a cliff. I ended up with triple bogey on that hole. Had a scary experience climbing down to get my disc. While we were there, we saw people hiking and also rock climbing. It was pretty hot in the late morning. Bring lots of water if you come out. See more..
  15. 5.0 McCoy Flats Trail Complex (4 reviews)
    - If you need bike stuff go to Grail Cycle in Vernal
Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails • Jogging Paths & Tracks
In Vernal,, Grail Cycle & Skate is the most community oriented bike & skate shop I have ever done business with. Josh (the owner) goes out of his way to know community members by name and not just the adults but the kids as well. I personally observed him at multiple high school mtn bike events fixing and tuning riders bikes. No one paid him to be there, he was there because he loves supporting our biking community. I have done bike business with Josh at least 2 doz times and every time he has been more than fair and 110% honest. My teenage boys have also done business with Josh and all 3 of them have been treated with in a way that a youth mentor would treat teenagers. The Grail Cycle business model is one that creates a customer base that is forever loyal. See more..
  16. 4.5 Three Peaks Recreation Area (4 reviews)
    - Usually Isolated Great for Side by side and ATV riding!
Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Parks
    Three Peaks Recreation Area image
I live very close to Three Peaks and love to drive there and let my dogs run free. But there are hidden snakes in the rocks so be careful with your pets and children, It is also a great area to ride our side-by-side. Has several RV spots and it is very well maintained. With access to water and many outdoor bathrooms. Great any time of year. See more..
  17. 4.5 Luke's Trail (3 reviews)
    - Gotta try it if you like desert mountain biking
    Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails
    Luke's Trail image
Beginner to Intermediate riding, a constantly twisting attention absorbing fantastically fun ride including great scenic views. If you like mountain biking you should love this trail. Slightly uphill and harder as you go but still worth even family riding on the lower sections. Twists through pinion pines along the edges of a plateau overlooking Price, Utah. Two hours would do for a quick up and back, but adding side loops of equal quality can make more of a 3-5 hour day of more than enough riding. See more..

  19. 4.5 Thor's Hideout (3 reviews)
    - Beautiful Hike
    Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails
    Thor's Hideout image
Via Hwy 14 at Red Hollow - it is a beautiful hike back up to Thor's Hideout. Pictures to take, depending on time of year, are spectacular. Only caution, take a weapon with you as we have spotted mountain lion and bobcat footprints that were fairly fresh. Also, in warmer weather you need to pay close attention for snakes on the trail. It is their territory after all and we are just visiting. Sad part is the moron factor who go back there and think that tagging the rocks is necessary. Keep your selves and your spray paints in your State and if you are from Utah, go home and stay home. Destroy your own homes, not the pristine beauty of our Utah trails. See more..
  20. 3.0 Memorial Mill Site & Wildlife Park (2 reviews)
    - Walking Trails, but Boring.
Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Equestrian Trails • Hiking Trails

The Lava Flow trail is 1.8 miles long. This trail is rated as moderate to difficult but is a great flow trail located just outside the city!
