We took the 3.5 hour Sunset Tour. Toney, our Navajo guide, took great care of us. He is SO knowledgeable. He shared names and stories about each of the monuments, answered all of our questions and gave us great photo tips along the way. At one point, Toney realized that a bad storm was coming (a summer monsoon). He calmly guided us to an alcove in a rock wall, where we could watch the storm (and the waterfalls that suddenly appeared), but stay safe and dry until the rain stopped. As we left the park, we were greeted by a clear, bright double rainbow. It was magical.See more..
5.0Navajo Spirit Tours(1.831 reviews) - Amazing and authentic experience in Monument Valley Sunday: Cultural Tours • Night Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Archaeology Tours
I was fortunate enough to enjoy a spiritual retreat and then sunset tour through Monument Valley last week and it was nothing short of spectacular. Gary and his lovely wife Dawn couldn't have been nicer. The Shaman they brought to speak to us was so learned and interesting and everyone was welcoming and open. It was a magical night and I HIGHLY recommend spending this with the team of Navajo Spirit Tours.See more..
We took two excellent photo tours with Dineh Bekeyah while in Monument Valley. Both were with Harry Nez who is very personable and had wonderful stories of growing up in the valley and shared his knowledge of the Dine people, culture and language. Harry is also a wonderful photographer and had great suggestions about both composition and technical aspects of photography. The first day was a morning tour through the valley to many wonderful locations. The second day was the highlight of our trip with a late afternoon/evening/sunset trip up to Hunt's Mesa. It was quite a 4-wheel drive adventure getting to the top of the mesa and the views were spectacular. It was an amazing vantage point to over look the entire valley. We highly recommend Dine Bekeyah Tours and especially Harry Nez.See more..
Hands down, one of the best group trips we've done. Rick has an amazing ability to size up a mixed group and organize the perfect adventure that has something for everyone but never more than we could handle. By the end we were a well oiled team. Such a memorable day!See more..
5.0Wild Expeditions(302 reviews) - Great tours of amazing Bears Ears Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours
My wife and I took two 1/2 day tours. The first was led by Nate who took us to the River House ruins along with a number of other sites and it was an amazing half day adventure. On day two we took a half-day excursion with Spencer who took us to the Cave Towers, House on Fire ruins, and a short side trip into an area with dinosaur tracks. Both Nate and Spencer are very professional and highly knowledgeable and the tours were absolutely worth every dime. Check out my photos and if you find yourself in this neck of the woods you need to take one or more of the tours or excursions with Wild Expeditions. See more..
5.0Mild to Wild Rhino Tours(299 reviews) - An amazing alternative view of Zion & the surrounding areas! Sightseeing Tours
The whole experience, from the ease of booking, through to the tour itself, was excellent! Buddy was a great guide, striking the perfect balance between the wild part of driving the atvs across some fun landscapes and the mild part where he shared interesting info about the local area. And the views were spectacular! We thought the tour was good value for money, and really appreciated that bandanas and sunglasses were provided to help protect against all the dust. Definitely recommend!See more..
5.0Southern Utah Scenic Day Tours(216 reviews) - Southern Utah Scenic Tour of Mighty 5 National Parks, Book your trip now!!! It far exceeded my expectations. Sunday: Sightseeing Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours
Charlie Garcia was our tour guide for a recent trip to the Mighty 5 Parks in Utah, What an awesome trip!!!! Charlie made you feel like you had known him all your life and he did an excellent job to make our trip something that will last a lifetime. We had a group of 9 and everyone was so friendly and we had a great time traveling together and enjoying the most beautiful, breathtaking scenery in the country. I highly recommend this tour and by all means ask for Charlie. It will be an unforgettable experience.See more..
absolutely the best day trip ever. we've been to all the Utah and AZ parks over the last 20* years many on multiple visits. \this is by far the best of the group. Paria Outpost did a great job getting us there and leading the hike (about 3-4 miles over relatively flat terrain). The guide was very knowledgeable / informative as well. Being the closest guide service (45 minutes closer than all the rest) made it even more worthwhile. I will very likely make the trip again as you cant see the entire location in just 1 visit. possibly add other area locations as well. unless you are a very experienced 4WD operator in deep sand, you will get stuck if you do it alone, get a guide. our guide was worth it even discounting getting us there and back as he knew exactly how to efficiently get around to key locations as there are no marked trails of any kind. really great trip. Paria Outpost very highly recommended.See more..
Jim took our family of five (including 8, 6, and 5 year old children) on a slot canyon tour outside of Escalante. He catered the tour to our children's abilities while still challenging them. He taught us all basic climbing maneuvers that assisted in moving through the tight canyons. He was friendly and fun. Of a 16 day road trip, this tour was the highlight of our vacation. I highly recommend booking with Utah Canyon Outdoors if you want to get off the beaten path and enjoy the majesty of slot canyons in solitude.See more..
The slot canyon hike that my wife and I chose was an incredible and unique experience. Our guide Mary, did an outstanding job. She was professional, knowledgeable, and catered to our specific interests. We are avid hikers in our 60's, and she made sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. Shari and Shawn were most helpful in guiding us to select the hike that was most appropriate for us. We would highly recommend this company.See more..
5.0North Wash Outfitters(96 reviews) - North Wash 3-day Basic Canyoneering Class Sightseeing Tours
Excellent basic canyoneering course. I had very limited experience and this is exactly what a "newbie" needs. The first classroom day makes sure that students have the background and basics. The second day on the wall allows for LOTS of hands-on practice with anchors/knots/blocks and basic rescue techniques of lowering and ascending. The final fun day in the canyon provides real world application of the skills we learned and practiced, as well as beautiful views and adventure to share with new friends. Jared and his crew (Tammy and Lisa for our class) are knowledgeable and patient and entertaining - can't recommend this class enough. Looking forward to the advanced class after practicing my skills.See more..
My husband and I wanted to experience Grand Staircase - Escalante Nat'l Monument on a deeper level than just the few hikes we were aware of, so we booked a half-day tour with Earth Tours - what a great decision! We learned so much about the region, its geology and saw places we never would have found on our own. Keith is a delightful and engaging guide, and the entire experience was marvelous. We're already talking about our next tour!See more..
We had a wonderful trail ride at Zion National park. I highly recommend it! The horses looked well cared for, the tack all looked good, too. The trail was gorgeous. See more..
4.5Backcountry Outfitters Day Tours(24 reviews) - Very informative with great views of what Mother Nature has done. Sightseeing Tours
Back Country Safaris 4 hr. Jeep tour was excellent. Kevin our guide was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. We ended up taking about 4:30 to complete the tour with stops. This is the best way to see the Capitol Reef back lands someplace you would not of found on your own. The jeep was an easy ride and it was very clean to boot. Spend the $$ and see this real back country while you are here.See more..
5.0Far Out Expeditions(21 reviews) - The only way to really see the area Sightseeing Tours
I have backpacked extensively in this area for 20 years. I really wanted to do a certain canyon and FOE was running a trip there. Vaughn is the most knowledgable guide I have EVER hiked with--from archeology to land issues to cowboy history. I saw rock art I would have walked right by. He has an extensive wilderness emergency medicine background and is on the local search and rescue team--I felt extremely safe. It really is worth it!See more..
5.0Tour of the Tilted Rocks(19 reviews) - Very easy tour that is well worth the time Sightseeing Tours
This is a driving tour with signposts along the route to indicate where you are. For a dollar we bought the booklet that provides descriptions of what to see at each point of interest. At At stop 13 we walked up to petroglyphs that are only 50 feet or so from where we stopped the car. We easily got within ten feet of them. At stop 14 the petroglyphs are a couple hundred yards in, but still an easy walk. The drive on this tour is 95% paved road. Only the last 5% is unpaved, but it was no problem because the road was mostly dry. That last little bit could be a problem if really wet. That last stop is the Josie Bassett Morris cabin. She was a woman who lived in this remote area for many years, finally leaving in 1964 because of a fall that broke her hip. It was interesting to wander this area and imagine what her life was like without plumbing and electricity not all that long ago. Overall, the area is very scenic and we had it to ourselves in the middle of April.See more..
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our hike with Jeff. He took us slick rock hiking in a location that we could never have accessed with our rental SUV. The hike was just the right length with the right level of challenge. We visited a secluded slot canyon and took a break in a very special small cave. That was all amazing as was the weather. What put the hike over the top was Jeff. He really listened to our description of the type of hike that we wanted to do. He's also a great guy. Wonderful to talk to with a great sense of perspective. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely try to arrange another hike with Jeff.See more..
I have been on two trips with ECO--one in October, 2010 (Canyons of the Little Rockies) and a second in May, 2011 (Kayenta Passages). I am eager to go on more--especially Waterpocket Fold. They use horses to bring in gear so you only have to carry a daypack. They lead the hikes, prepare all the meals, and share their knowledge of the area--old timers' stories, geology, archeology. You sleep in tents. The food is outstanding, the country spectacular. I would recommend ECO without reservation.See more..
