My wife and I took two 1/2 day tours. The first was led by Nate who took us to the River House ruins along with a number of other sites and it was an amazing half day adventure. On day two we took a half-day excursion with Spencer who took us to the Cave Towers, House on Fire ruins, and a short side trip into an area with dinosaur tracks. Both Nate and Spencer are very professional and highly knowledgeable and the tours were absolutely worth every dime. Great trip, what an adventure ! Led by an extremely skilled and knowledgeable boat team who were all really friendly and looked after us brilliantly. We were well fed and had everything we needed. We learnt so much about the history and geology of the Canyon along with loads of laughter and great fun on the water. The whole back to nature and leave only footprints experience suited us perfectly and along with the excitement of the rapids it all combined to make this a trip of a lifetime .We would definatly recommend this Company and hope to return to them for the 11 day expedition. I went on a 2.5 hour rafting trip with my 13 yo daughter with Destination Sports. Our guide Lars was attentive throughout taking the time to meet everyone on the raft and learn a bit about each of us. She was not only a very experienced and adept guide but also filled us in on some of the local history pointing out landmarks and opportunities to see wildlife as well. This trip was an A+ and I would highly recommend it to anyone.See more..

Multi-Day Raft trip...Overall, it was a great trip for our family. Weather could have cooperated more, but scenery was beautiful, rapids fun, good food, and it was enjoyable meeting new folks from all over. We had a couple of issues with getting rafts stuck on rocks or folks getting tossed from boats, and the DRE team jumped into action and solved the problems safely. Main complaints: several of the DRE team members had little knowledge of the area we are rafting through (asking three different staff, only one could say why the area was called "Gates of Lodore!), some of their equipment is in need of replacement (for example, the "air filled mattresses" that we rented from DRE to sleep on held no air and the lid off the portable toilet was broken off), and none of the pre-departure literature they provided talked about how much "down" time there is in camp. It would be good to suggest the bringing of books, cards, etc., especially since we had a couple days of rain.See more..

I had an amazing experience with Adrift down the Yampa this May! I was lucky enough to go on this trip because of Adrift’s partnership with Western Colorado University’s Recreation and Outdoor Education department. The two have been collaborating for the past 22 years which has allowed many students, including myself, to take a once in a lifetime trip down the Yampa. The guides on our trip were amazing in allowing us to learn about whitewater rafting and expedition planning while also taking care of us at the same time. All the while, the Yampa River provided a perfect place to disconnect and recharge over the course of the week. I personally had a rejuvenating experience and was able to take away some positive ideas that I still think about on a daily basis. On the last couple days of the trip we shared a few poems that spoke to me and I now have a couple new mantras to say to myself through hard times. Overall my trip down the Yampa was more than I ever could have asked for and I would recommend Adrift to anyone looking to raft down the Yampa!See more..
What an incredible, remarkable, and memorable experience!! The river and the giant canyons were wonderful all by themselves, but your team made them even better! Every one of us loved our guides! They were professional, caring, informative and excellent in so many ways. From the first song of the morning, a vocal trio invited us to start each day as they sang, “Hot Coffee” to the very end of each day, our guides made us feel special. They kept us safe over the rapids, made every meal amazing, laughed readily, and shared their knowledge of the river and its history to make the trip come alive. The guides, boats, and camping gear we rented were first rate. The food was delicious - hard to believe it was all cooked outside on camp equipment, including the Lasagna (from scratch) and the omelets and cinnamon rolls on the last morning. The Yampa river trip we were on was a nice mix of splashy rapids, some gorgeous smooth water, hikes to see petroglyphs and waterfalls, and time to relax in camp. And the guides were terrific at dealing with the 10-12 year olds on the trip - kept them motivated, found games for them to play, and most of all kept them safe and happy.See more..

We booked with Big Rock Adventures for our young men annual camp out. Rachel was great to work with for scheduling our activities and being flexible on the numbers. They kept changing and they even charged us less when one member of our group didn’t do one activity. Our boys had a great time with all of the activities and the river guides we had were awesome. We had a really fun time! Jeff was our guide. We took our kids ages 17, 12, and 11 and they all were able to participate in the ride. We had such a great time tubing in Virgin, Utah! Adam and Hannah were so helpful and the tubing experience was the BEST. Went on an 11 AM trip in late June 2020. Air temp was about 80, water temp was about 60, pretty brisk but all in all bearable and not an issue. We had a group of 8 head up with coolers in tow thinking we would be able to bring them along but once we got out there, we understood why they don't allow coolers on this river. For those wanting a lazy float drinking beer and chatting, go somewhere else. This float does give you moments of being able to relax but there is a lot of paddling and being aware of rocks/trees/rapids that must be taken into account. The only reason this wasn't a 5-star review is that the staff weren't exactly cordial (the driver was nice, the check-in guy was not) and they didn't have any Covid-19 precautions in place (we were all in the same van on the ride up to the launch spot). Otherwise, I'd do this again in a heartbeat, it was a great way to spend a summer afternoon.See more..

Our family of four LOVED our trip down the Green River through the Gates of Lodore! It was a magical time filled with fun side hikes and incredible food prepared by our guides. As a non-water person, I was a bit nervous about the rapids and “unintentional swimming.” But, the ARTA guides are all very skilled at what they do. And, because they love it...they’re really good at it! I can’t say enough about this company (they support organizations that preserve our river systems).See more..

Weber Tubing provided us a great time on the Weber River. We loved their no reservation policy. First come, first serve but they had plenty of tubes. Pricing was good and it's a day pass so you can go more than once. Sam, the owner, was friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was prompt. The equipment worked well. We had one paddle for the two of us. We would recommend paying the extra couple of dollars for each to have a paddle. Just makes things much easier. It was mid August and the river was still running fast and had more rapids than I was expecting. It was a fun trip. I would definitely recommend Weber Tubing and we'll be back for more fun.See more..
