  1. 5.0 Canyon Outfitters, Inc. (100 reviews)
    - Best trip ever!
    Sightseeing Tours
    Canyon Outfitters, Inc. image
I have done the river trip with George, Lynette and crew at least 10 times and I keep coming back. The scenery is breathtaking, the white water is exciting but the real draw is the hospitality that George, Lynette and the guides give. It truely is your vacation, if you want to fish, then fish, if you want to swim that's ok too, oh, you want to hunt, get your gun. Lastly, the food is fabulous, it's amazing what comes out of a stack of dutch ovens and a few pieces of charcoal. See more..
  2. 5.0 Camp Dakota (98 reviews)
    - Great time at Camp Dakota!

    Camp Dakota image
My group just returned from a 4 day trip. Ages 38, 37, 41, 15 (special needs), 14, 11, 8 & 7. We did the archery/tomahawk, rock wall and paintball (high and low velocity). We rented a large yurt with air hockey & foosball. Everyone loved the yurt. It was great to have the entertainment in the down time. The older kids and 2 adults did the high velocity paintball. I don’t recommend it for people under 10 but over that age is a blast. There is a great water area 15 min before you get to the camp called Scott’s Mills park. Right a the road, easy to find and has a playground. See more..

We are so thrilled we booked a tour with Niko. He took us to three great small wineries that we would have never decided on by ourselves, but they were perfect for us. He also did a cheese pairing for us at one stop that was perfection. Niko was very knowledgeable, gracious, and fun. We had great conversations with him in the car and we loved the winemakers he introduced us to. Thanks for the beautiful day! See more..
  4. 5.0 John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Painted Hills Unit (94 reviews)
    - One of the most beautiful places in the world!

John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Painted Hills Unit image
Painted Hills is one of the most amazing places we've ever seen and it feels like you're in a different world when you're here. The natural landscapes are breathtakingly beautiful and it's an absolute joy to explore this area. We visited during a heat wave in 2017 and it was 115 degrees in the area, but that didn't stop us from enjoying every minute here. I recommend bringing plenty of water and make sure that your car has a full tank of gas, just because it's remote and a desert. I highly, highly recommend Painted Hills and it's still one of the most amazing placed we've ever visited! See more..

    Infinite Oregon Tours image
We had a wonderful time on our full day tour up the Oregon coast. The initial reservation was cancelled due to weather, but we were able to re-schedule with TJ for the day before we left Portland. He obviously had safety in mind as the areas we’d be traveling had snow and hail just a couple days before. The weather was perfect the day we went. The tour was one of the best parts of our trip. Canon Beach was gorgeous and the little town was a great place to stop for lunch. All the stops were so beautiful and TJ’s narration during the day was entertaining. I’d book another tour with TJ in a heartbeat. Thanks for the adventure! See more..

I was a first time rafter and am now hooked! From start to end, each person at All Star was friendly and professional. Our guide, Pedro, built our skills and confidence incrementally, and gave our group some choices on different parts of the river, for challenge level. He set a playful, friendly tone that got the group at ease with each other quickly. Doing the Deschutes with All Star was a gem on our trip to the Gorge and central Oregon! Loved it, and will be going back! See more..

    E-Bike Multnomah Falls image
My wife and I loved it. We did the half-day tour, which was from about 10am to about 2pm. The e-bikes are regular bicycles fitted with electric motors to aide pedaling, so it’s really easy. You definitely do not need to be a serious athlete. The bikes are well maintained. The waterfalls are all beautiful and getting to them from the road is quick and easy. Each waterfall is well-marked so you really can’t miss them. And they are all located on the same road. Don’t worry, drivers on the route are careful around bike riders. This is very highly recommended. See more..

Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
    Oregon River Experiences image
Just returned from a 5-day raft trip on the lower John Day river with the ORE team. We can’t speak highly enough of the job they did and the great time we had. Ted, Kaylen, Megan, and Izzy were all very professional and worked very hard to ensure everyone had a great time. The meals far surpassed expectations - how they can consistently provide such great meals 3 times daily out in the woods was amazing. We will certainly be coming back for more trips! See more..

We did the shorter trip that focused on the rapids and that was perfect for our group of 12 that included kids and older adults. We have rafted multiple places and this was a good outfitter. Quality equipment and friendly, knowledgeable guides. The river rapids were just what we wanted. Exciting but nothing bordering on dangerous. They have bathrooms and places to change plus they will hold your keys in the office. We went after lunch and glad we did because there aren’t many good options for food in town. We’d recommend rafting with them to friends. See more..

    Double Mountain Ranch image
Great mid summer evening ride in the Columbia River gorge to dry creek falls! My husband and I had a great private ride this summer with the owner on her lovely horses! My horse Cinder a Missouri fox trot breed has a lovely smooth gait! Very comfy for trail riding. We didn’t pass one person on the PCT Riding to and from the falls! We had the Forrest all to ourselves! The Horses are very well trained and responsive, and well cared for. As we are experienced riders, and she let up ride ahead. We rode with them also last summer 2019 on our anniversary for the mountain panorama ride which is also another very good ride! The nice thing about this outfitter is that they will match you To the appropriate horse based on your riding experience and Taylor the ride to your ability which means they can offer something for riders of all levels. Can’t wait until they open back up for next Season! See more..

    - Great Family Hike
    Hiking Trails
McKenzie River National Recreation Trail image
McKenzie River National Recreation Trail is one of my favorite hikes. It is a great easy hike for families. This past week I started thursday early morning (6:30 am) at Paradise Campground. What is different now from past hikes are the number of bikers. All bikers were polite and shred the trail. I noticed no litter on the trail. The trail seems to have escaped the fires, wind storms and weather hazards. The trail follows the Mc Kenzie River and you will find lots of camera opportunities. Rafters are frequent and love to be shouted at and waved to. See more..

We did the lodge trip, warm showers, wine, home cooked dinners and breakfast in the morning was perfect. There was also time for hiking, singing and games, totally entertaining. Our guides were just the BEST! Keep us safe, taught us river etiquette, took historical stops, made different lunches everyday, had people swimming, jumping off of rocks, having the best trip ever. The brought out inflatable kayaks for either the quiet areas, or if you were brave, some of the smaller rapids. A trip that memories are made of, 2nd trip, hope to do it again! See more..

Just book it! I looked at three different local venues (Washington, Coastal and here) and some weren’t even taking bookings until May. PNW booked us over a month out, and the late March day couldn’t have been more perfect. We arrived at our scheduled time, got checked in and were in the air and back on the ground in roughly two hours. It was a busy day and a little chaotic but, from the safety review to landing, we felt safe and assured that we were in good hands. Chris and Herbie kept the whole experience energetic and super fun. The photographers did an awesome job! Highly recommended! We will definitely go again!! See more..

    Blue Sky Whitewater Rafting image
I came here with 5 other friends after doing the Hood to Coast race. Only one of us had done a white water rafting trip before so we didn't know what to expect. Our guide Gary was fantastic. He had great stories, helped us brave the rapids, and even helped us go back up in to the rapids several times. Every one on the trip had an amazing time and it was one of our favorite things we did on the trip. Gary was a big part of that as he had great stories about the river and things that he has seen over the years. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Reasonably priced and Sequoia (another employee) took great pictures from the shore during our trip. We purchased over 40 photos for only $40 which I thought was quite a bargain. We would all do this again in a heartbeat. See more..

  32. 5.0 Liquid Expeditions Rafting (64 reviews)
    - BEST. DAY.EVER. Amazing river fun!!
Sunday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
    Liquid Expeditions Rafting image
This really was an amazing day. Let me start by saying that I planned this trip because I thought my husband and kids would enjoy it--water is really not my thing. By the end of the day I was swimming down rapids and jumping off of 15 ft cliffs!!! Rael was great with kids and adults alike. His knowledge of the area and his love for the river are infectious. He picked us up at the treesort, served a delicious lunch and dropped up back home around dinner time. In a weekend of fun (horses, ziplines, treehouses) this experience was at the top. My family would have done it again the next day in a heart beat. I am so glad we found Liquid Expeditions and look forward to floating again next year. See more..

    - Beautiful View - no hiking required

Since most reviews talk about the hike to get here, I just want to assure you that you can drive to the top. There's usually plenty of parking and there is a wonderful, large viewing platform with a picnic table. It's a great place to photograph sunrises, sunsets, and moonrises. My first trip to the Butte was for a Super Moon viewing that wasn't - it was too cloudy to see the moon rise, but I was introduced my sweetheart, so it ended up being the perfect evening! See more..
  34. 5.0 Steens Mountain (63 reviews)
    - Kiger Gorge and the Gun Sight
    Mountains
    Steens Mountain image
Steens Mountain, in far SE Oregon, is one of the most amazing wilderness places accessible by car. Located in the Great Basin, it is a 30 mile long fault block uplift mountain which reaches almost 10,000 ft at it's highest point. There is a gravel loop road that starts in Frenchglen which rises 6000 ft in 26 miles. You'll drive through a herd of sheep on the way up. At the top, there are three glacial gorges the most spectacular of which is Kiger Gorge which is perfectly U-shaped. Looming over Kiger is the eponhymously named Gunsight notch also glacially carved. From the top, the view is east to the Alvord Desert; to the south on the mountain is Wildhorse lake, accessible by a steep climb down/up. If you like scenery in the middle of nowhere there is no better place. If you time it right, you could view fulll moon rise from the top. I wish I had better words to tell you how amazing this place is. See more..
  35. 5.0 Rogue River Outfitters (63 reviews)

    Rogue River Outfitters image
I did a 3 day, 2 night drift boat trip on the Deschutes River with some college friends and we had an amazing experience. The guides, food, and camp experience were all top-notch and the guides know the river so well that they always put you in the best fishing spots. The fried chicken dinner is some of the best chicken I have had anywhere. It does not matter if you are new to fly fishing or an advanced fisherman as the guides will quickly assess the skills of the client and adjust how much hands-on support is necessary. The beauty of the lower Deschutes River is something that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. I highly recommend a trip with RRO, whether on the Deschutes River or Rogue River and Craig runs a very professional outfit and ensures that his clients have a great experience. See more..

We stayed at the Guesthouse of the Abbey for 3 days. Nice, clean and simple room with shower etc. View towards the church; you can hear the bells as we are called to prayer five times a day. The Dining room was open, during current restrictions they pack your meal in a plastic tub, you may choose how much you want and what. Also drinks are available - hot coffee, or cold drinks from their refrigerator which they will bring to you. Since there were very few guests we were allowed to eat at the table, and picked the one with the best view toward the valley. The sunsets were spectacular, from the 4th floor of the guest house. There is also a lounge which you can use to get hot coffee, make popcorn, or use the refrigerator for your own drinks. Beautiful walking trails all over, even down to the brewery. Also walk the road with the stages of the cross (imported from Germany). See more..

If you want to explore more territory drive into Joseph. Bonze statues are on every street corner and the hanging flower baskets look amazing. The stores are a good mix for browsing and shopping. - Cider Run!
    Sunday: Farms
    Bauman's Farm and Garden image
From friendly, knowledgeable staff to great local farm fresh vegetables, and absolutely wonderful hard ciders this is a great place. You can buy just about any plant or tree in their nursery. Inside they offer a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, popcorns, and gifts. All that being said, this was a cider run! If you like to try or buy different ciders Baumans has you covered. The strawberry mojito cider was definitely a favorite. If you like different tastes try the vanilla bourbon cider. I'm not sure how many they truly carry but I'm sure it's at least an easy dozen. The bottles are $8 each and you can buy growlers too. Or if you like you can get a glass or a tray of samples. Anyway small batch and delicious! See more..

We stopped her on our drive along Mt. Hood Scenic Byway and it was well worth it. There are paths you can hike that are not too steep. One follows the River and is a beautiful hike. Another is a boardwalk over wetlands. We greatly enjoyed the stop. See more..

Friend and I took this hike early first thing in the morning. Hike up to some time, friend walks slow. Once on top the views are magical. We found resting spot and just sat before heading down. Walk down much faster that up. Ha ha. We recommend taking this hike for the great views. See more..
