Good Time

What a great way to spend an afternoon in Bar Harbor. The 2 person crew was friendly, polite and super informative. The boat was pretty full but it felt roomy enough. The guide, Gaelyn, narrated throughout the excursion with unmatched enthusiasm. He is a retired teacher and it was obvious that he loves to teach and entertain. We learned in an interactive way about lobsters and the harbor. After the lobster hunting we road out to a lighthouse where we circumnavigated the little island it's on. There were two types of seals swimming and sunning. Tons of birds enjoyed the island and it's skies including two amazing bald eagles. Only SLIGHT possible negative .... Gaelyn really likes hamming it up with the kids. There were 5 kids on board and there was a LOT of time spent being silly with them. Seriously, how many ways can you put a lobster on a kid's head? If you're annoyed by weird kid stuff, this could be uncool for you. Haha! If you have kids, bring them!

    So much fun!
    This was such a fun thing to do for our entire family! We scheduled the 11:30 departure on a sunny, warm day early in July. The stories that were told as we were cruising around the Harbor were extremely interesting and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. The best part, however, was when they pulled up the lobster traps to find lobsters and other amazing sea creatures! Our boys (7 and 10), had so much fun playing up front with the bin of creatures. They delighted at having the opportunity to throw them back in! After this part, we cruised out to see hundreds of seals sunning themselves on the rocks! I highly recommend this trip as a wonderful, family friendly way of seeing Bar Harbor and it’s gorgeous wildlife from the sea!
