If you are big fans of the tv show and the books, this is for you. There is a museum where you purchase tickets to tour the house. The museum is in a white building and has a nice gift shop and wonderful original artifacts from Laura’s life. The tour guides are great and very knowledgeable. Pictures are not allowed in the house-which makes it more special to see it. I recommend doing the museum last because her house and rock house have timed entries and the museum is a self pace. America's National Churchill Museum image
In 1946 it was at Westminster College that Winston Churchill delivered one of the most significant speeches of his long and illustrious career. That address, formally entitled, The Sinews of Peace, but best known for that evocative phrase, An Iron Curtain has descended across the Continent, effectively marked the beginning of the Cold War and linked, forever, Fulton and Westminster College with Winston Churchill. In the 1960s Westminster College set out to mark what would be the 40th anniversary of Churchill's visit. After due consideration to traditional modes of commemoration, Westminster College settled on the rather more ambitious notion of moving a Christopher Wren designed Church from London. This Church, St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, had stood in London since 1677 when it replaced an earlier structure that had sat on the same site since the 12th century. This magnificent building, badly damaged during the London Blitz, was moved stone by stone to Westminster's campus and rebuilt to Wren's original specifications.Beneath this Church is the National Churchill Museum itself which through the imaginative and innovative use of technology bring to life the story of Winston Churchill and the world he knew. Recently rebuilt form the ground up the new displays and the permanent exhibition, together with host of associated historical and cultural activities that support it was recognized the by the United States Congress as America's permanent tribute to this great man and formally recognized as America's National Churchill Museum. The room adjacent to the entrance room is definitely a step back in time. The hole from the bullet and the cross-stitch sampler are still there and a short video explains the legend. Clay County Museum and Historic Society image
History buffs seeking to understand what life was like before and during the Civil War in the Midwest will appreciate this small museum in Liberty, MO, that began life as a drug store. Both the County Seat town and Clay County are represented. The old-time doctor’s office and period rooms on the second floor shouldn’t be missed, although the stairs might be difficult for older visitors. Rare photos and old maps show the Liberty Arsenal, raided in 1861 a week after the Fort Sumter attack. The area suffered greatly during the Civil War, with residents siding with the Confederate cause for decades. Knowledgeable volunteers are eager to share information. See more..

Wholesome experience! So much to see! Staff was interactive and friendly. There to add snippets of info and stories to the different exhibits you will see. The dinosaurs were so detailed it, if you looked close enough you could probably see them breath! Hard to believe they're not finished with the place yet. Don't let that stop you, get a rain check pass! They are giving them out right now for visiting while they're still adding new exhibits. My son did NOT want to leave. He was in ABSOLUTE AWE of the convincingly real dinosaurs on display. We will DEFINETLY be making this a family regular. Don't forget the great diner right at the corner less than 50 steps from the museum. Take advantage of the great country cooking at a fair price after visiting the Museum. Great experience all together. Will be visiting again. See more..
