My wife and I enjoyed a romantic jaunt around the city on a solo ride, but still learned a tremendous amount about the city of Hermann from Cindy. The genuine appreciation for the city and its heritage was unique to just another carriage ride. We love it!! See more..

Second visit to this place. Nothing changed from 4 years ago. There is not enough activities geared for toddlers. The inflatable slide is too high for some children. The zip line is only for older kids. The corn box is a horse trough with a layer of corn in it. The only thing good was the "cow train", which is little barrels painted like cows, pulled by a four wheeler. The adult fee $9 is too high, since no adults actually partake of the activities, and only serve as a chauffeur to get the kids there, the price should be lower. The hayride was ok. They were very disorganized on the weekday we were there. Not enough help to staff all areas. Pumpkin "patch" is a few pumpkins laying in an open field and some on a table and in a box. They have a corn cannon and a slingshot, which is aimed too close to the area where the hayride travels. There were horses in stalls, as well as free roaming goats, some chickens, etc. Save your money and time and go elsewhere. See more..

Shires for Hire Carriage Company image
I had used this company 2 years and was very pleased with the service and events, unfortunately the 3rd year the price was raised and Shawn the main guy called my residents invalids of which was very upsetting to me although our residents are in wheelchairs and staff assisted them to get up in the carriage, Shawn saying this was very disrespectful, residents were very disappointed when I told them the reason we were unable to utilize this for our events due to cost they were very sadden, no way would I tell them, the other comments, everyone should love and appreciate their elderly no matter what their age, no matter what their physical limitations, as well as Shawn has no idea of much reminiscing and fun in the moment residents had, during our events, I would encourage other persons working in healthcare to take strong consideration and compassion for their residents, before considering using shires for hire, See more..
