With the mission "to ignite and sustain lifelong science and technology learning", the Saint Louis Science Center is one of the top five science centers in the United States, and has been named one of the Top 10 Science Centers for Families by Parents Magazine and one of America's most visited museums by Forbes Traveler Magazine. The complex includes over 96,000 sq-ft of interactive science-technology exhibits that are part of the Science Center's free general admission. The most recent major permanent exhibit is GROW, a one-acre outdoor exhibit that will take visitors on a journey of food, to gain a deeper understanding of our food supply. The Science Center's ticketed areas include the OMNIMAX, a four-story IMAX Dome theater; the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, one of the world's largest planetariums; and the Discovery Room, an activity area for families with younger children.See more..

What a great place! This is an interactive “museum” that adults and children of all ages will enjoy. (Of course the teens probably won’t want to let on that they’re having a good time. ) there are some areas geared for small children, some more advanced for young teens and a lot to be enjoyed by school aged children. Well worth the small entrance fee ($12 adult). I stumbled upon this and had a very enjoyable afternoon!See more..

This is off the beaten path and a must do for any dinosaur or fossil lovers. It's only one building, but they have tons of fossils, rocks, and minerals. They're working on reconstructing a triceratops skeleton. All employees were very polite and knowledgeable. It's free entry, but they encourage donations. We also bought some fossils. See more..
4.5The Space Museum(24 reviews) - A treasure trove just outside St. Louis, MO Science Museums
Go now! Built by Old McDonnell (before Douglas and Boeing) space engineers this museum benefits from the same attention to detail that the men and women used to build the Mercury and Gemini capsules in St. Louis almost 60 years ago. Earl Mullins multi-million dollar collection of rare NASA and RosCosmos artifacts from space shines in this spectacular hometown museum dedicated to all things SPACE. And if you love this museum, check out the Cosmosphere space museum in Hutchinson Kansas, and the Challenger Learning Center in St. Louis Missouri. The St. Louis Science Center is also has a small collection of space related materials. In the end though, I most recommend the Space Museum in Bonne Terre because on every visit there I have been blessed to speak with the Old McDonnell men who built the Gemini and Mercury capsules - nothing compares to learning about something from someone who is passionately devoted to it.See more..
I was passing through Kirksville and found a very interesting museum on the campus of the A.T. Still University. The museum had no admission charge and the exhibits were very well done. Dr. A.T. Still created the first school to teach Osteopathic Medicine.See more..
