We stopped in Astral Glass Studio during our first visit to New Haven, and our time in the studio was the highlight of our trip! Not only did we get to watch and learn how Lance and Gary produce such gorgeous pieces of art, but we enjoyed quality time with Remi, one of the shop pups, and had the opportunity to learn more about the history of New Haven and John Colter. Ol' Blue is open most weekends, or when the easel is out front, or by appointment. Ol' Blue is a very unique art gallery featuring the surreal ballpoint pen creations of artist Tai Taeoalii. The gallery is an 1881 home that was renovated by Tai and his wife Adrienne over the course of several years. The structure is said to be the oldest wooden pre-civil war home standing in Hannibal. There wasn’t much to save, but they saved what they could. They turned the front of the structure into Tai’s gallery, and in the back loft there is a small guesthouse for vacation rental and a lovely side courtyard. Tai uses the rest of the building as a space to create his artwork.See more..

Looked out my window and saw this shop across the street on Ohio. A wonderful little shop in the downtown area of Sedalia, just blocks off the Missouri Katy Trail. They have an outstanding selection of art in a good range of media: pottery (my favorite), wall art and paintings, photography, and MUCH more. I was blown away by the quality of the pottery: bought 2 mugs with exceptional glazes that will add a smile to morning coffee or a pottery shelf display.
