  1. 4.5 Boulevard Brewing Company (660 reviews)
    - Friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff of Boulevard Brewing Co.
    Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Breweries
    Boulevard Brewing Company image
In the midst of a road trip, Boulevard Brewing Co. provided a delightful opportunity for a bit of speed tourism in Kansas City, Missouri. As a fan of the beers distributed west (i.e. Tank 7), the opportunity to stop for a moment and pick up beers to bring back was too good of one to pass up. The individual I worked with upstairs to identify a good beer to bring home via a crowler was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. I was grateful for the effort put forth by the Boulevard Brewing Co. team member to ensure I left with the best beer for me. The same was true for the individual at the gift shop who helped me pick out my mix six pack ensuring I was bringing home beers I would enjoy (and I have), but also beers that I am not able to get in California (at home). If the opportunity presented itself to stay longer and experience a tour, there is no doubt the professionalism and knowledge is constant throughout the team at Boulevard Brewing Co. See more..

    - Beer Master Tour

    Anheuser-Busch Brewery image
My wife and I did the Beer Master Tour. I highly recommend booking your tour a couple months in advance as these sell out quickly. We received a A-B baseball cap and wore headphones while the tour was in progress. You’re not going to see anyone adding barley, hops or malt during this tour. I thought the tour was comprehensive and enjoyable. There’s plenty of opportunity to taste beer at different stages of production. The history was interesting and the facility/grounds are historically beautiful to see. If I were to do one tour, the Beer Master tour is the one to do. See more..
  3. 4.5 Mother's Brewing Company (107 reviews)
    - Always a great place to spend an afternoon or evening

    Mother's Brewing Company image
I love the kid friendly additions that have been done to their yard, on a beautiful day, make this place a stop! There is always a food truck or food festival going on. They have several beers that are very unique to this brewery, and some that follow the current trends. If they have the Trop top, a tropical pale ale, give it a shot! Staff here is always fun and welcoming. The beer here is some of the best that I have ever had! Lots of good parking See more..
  4. 4.0 Crown Valley Brewing and Distilling (58 reviews)
    - Worth the 1 hour drive to try this place out.

Crown Valley Brewing and Distilling image
This was a first time visiting this location and I can say it was well worth the trip. The staff was very welcoming and engaged in conversation. My colleague and I were on a distillery tour for the day and this was definitely the best start. We did a flight of spirits and beers and came across a pair of whiskies that when blended together were amazing. They mixed a Honey infused whisky with a cocoa infused one and all i can say is wow. Tasted like a hazelnut coffee. The honey one by itself was also more like a dessert rather than a whisky. All in all a great trip across some very scenic back roads. They have a large indoor seating area as well as outdoor seating with live music (was not planned this particular day). See more..

  6. 4.0 Tin Mill Brewing Company (38 reviews)
    - Nice Brewery!
    Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Breweries
    Tin Mill Brewing Company image
This brewery is a great place to visit if you are in the Hermann area. In a town filled with wine, taking some time for some good beer is perfect. They sell flights of beer for less than $10. However, usually their seasonals and new brews are more fun to try than their regular brews and you are only able to pick two non staples for the flight. It's a fun place to hang and have a beer. Charleville Vineyard & Winery image
Charleville is a little off the beaten path but is worth the extra couple of miles. They have the typical Missouri wines, Noton, Chardonel, Chambourcin), but it is the brewery that really shines. They are dog friendly with a lot of room to run. They also have a B&B in a rebuilt authentic log home. See more..

    - Just beer (really good beer), but who needs anything else?
    Wednesday: 4:00 PM - 1:30 AM Breweries
    Exit 6 Brewery image
This place is a great hole-in-the-wall brew pub. I try to find one of these must return places everywhere I go and I’m glad I found this one. Bring your own food because they just serve BEER. Really good beer. I tried Exit 6 Ryance Red that has just enough hops to make it easy to drink. Followed it with a Lagunitas and for dessert that “F”ing beer that made the headlines. Lauren was our server and was right there every time we needed another. So grab your favorite meal and head to Exit 6 for good beer with your best beer drinking buds. I really love their saying, “If you saw it on a commercial…We don’t have it!” Then there’s my favorite saying, “The only thing better than a tasty beverage, is a FREE tasty beverage!” Next round is on me ;) See more..

    - Good Beer, Good Selection, Good Service

    Logboat Brewing Company image
This place was packed on a Friday pre-game night....90% guys...but packed. The two bartenders were trying to keep up, but were more intent on cleaning glasses than pouring beer from time to time. Still, they were attentive enough and the beer was very very good. Some of them were quite creative and all had excellent body and flavor. The place has a nice modern vibe with a couple of TVs and great patio. Was easy to find and park as well. Breweries that dispense with the idea of serving food and focus on the beer are often the best. And based on my visit to Columbia where I hit four different breweries, that held true. See more..

  20. 5.0 Diametric Brewing Company (5 reviews)
    - Cider & Beer at a brewery with a nice vibe.
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
    Diametric Brewing Company image
2nd brewery of a three brewery tour in the area. Diametric (formerly New Axiom) Brewery is rather nice, it is just of a little pond for a view and nice outside seating when the weather is right. This place also makes a couple of ciders and one mead/cider hybrid. They apparently had a food truck (tacos menu) but my friends and I had already eaten at Smoke (our first stop). They had good list of beers, I loved the Glacier & Sea (Baltic Porter) and I had to try Patrick MacHazy (IPA) named after Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. It is a pretty decent IPA. I did try the Blueberry Cyser (Cider/Mead mix). I was a bit disappointed in that, only because in my mind I was focusing on Mead and expecting more of Mead feel and content. It was more fizzy like a cider. Don't get me wrong, it was nice, but my expectations were the one that threw me off the drink. I did like the vibe of the place, friendly and open. See more..
  21. 5.0 Deslogetown Brewery (3 reviews)
    - Hidden Gem!
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
We tried four beers on tap, and every single one was great! My favorite was the Irish Red. The bar is basically a cozy man cave with large windows and a vineyard view. You can sit inside in air conditioning, outside on a sunny patio or under a covered porch. Unpretentious. Warm. Inviting. Beautiful property. The owner and his friends hang out and chat with visitors. I could have stayed here all day! The wine tasting room is right next door. See more..

  23. 5.0 Miami Creek Brewery (2 reviews)
    - Low key, but friendly brewery

    Miami Creek Brewery image
A great brewery in the middle of nowhere; the staff is very friendly in explaining how the different flavors are produced from locally available and grown herbs and fruits. Have been there a few times and have had enjoyed their several varieties, and I found the barleywines and stouts to be the best, but the others are also wonderful. Very reasonably priced beers either on the premises or for to go in growlers. Complimentary snacks always available. What a great place enjoy a few beers. I understand they will also be producing wines and meads in the near future. See more..
  24. 5.0 Miami Creek Brewing Company (2 reviews)
    - A wonderful microbrewery
    Spent < 1 hour Breweries
    Miami Creek Brewing Company image
I am amazed at this out-of-nowhere microbrewery turning out such wonderful craft beers. They just had their first anniversary of opening (opened Nov 2016). The owner / brewer (Will) is very open to discussing how he produces the exotic beers using produce from his farm (and some outsourced from other farms). The prices are very reasonable and they also fill growlers to go. The tap room is located in the brewery building, and they provide a varying variety of complimentary snacks (chili, tortilla chips, cookies, chips, nuts, etc.). Though they do not have a sampler flight, they will offer samples of their beers to taste. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. Some playthings are available in the lawn and also in the taproom. Will encourages visitors to walk his orchard if one desires.

This is a must place to visit for craft beer lovers.

Springfield is known for having some great micro breweries but you need to make the trip to Neosho! Lots of great seating areas that are both kind of private and amongst other people if that’s what you want. Cool little beer garden in back too. I would call their beer menu German, but they do have a couple IPA’s as well. Bar food available. Such a cool decor and vibe here, bar keep was very nice and had a good conversation with everyone seated at the bar. Good prices on growlers and flights are by four See more..

    Grains & Taps image
Grains & Taps is a very enjoyable brewpub in downtown Lee’s Summit. The selection of beers on tap is huge, a total of 24 including 21 of their own beers. A large selection of beer styles are available. Each beer is available in taster size and is individually priced. The beer menu is available on a computer screen at each booth. They also have some beers to go in cans and they also fill growlers. Grains & Taps also serves food, but I cannot comment on it because I was there only for drinks. Very friendly staff. Convenient parking is available in spite of being located in downtown. See more..

  30. 4.0 POG Brewing Company (1 review)
    - Brewery trip outside of Kansas City
    Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
    POG Brewing Company image
My friends and I are doing a "stay-cation" and checking out regional/local breweries in greater Kansas City area. We started at Red Crow Brewing Company in Olathe (see review) then made a side trip to the Louisburg Apple Cider Mill and our last stop was to Cleveland, MO for POG Brewing Company. POG is military slang "Person Other than Grunt." The owner is retired military, our server (wife) is still serving in the military and helping out here. They built the place from the ground up. They opened in January 2020. The beer names are military slang and they do have a very limited food menu (5 items, not including dessert) at the time of our visit. They had all but one beer, so we ordered a flight of the 9 they had available. We did have a nice time talking to our waitress/owner about the names of the beers and what it meant. They come from a military family mostly army, but air force is also represented by displays of uniforms in cased in glass. Of the beers we tried they had several that I thought were pretty good for a new brewery. I liked the Bug Juice (dark wheat, blackberry), Lickey Chewy (cream ale with roasted butterscotch). Lickey Chewy is the flavor of the homemade ice cream (with the beer of course), that we immediately ordered the ice cream. It was fabulous. Pogey Bait is Kolsch style beer, I am generally not a fan of Kolsch, but liked their Kolsch. It was also the beer ingredient of their Radler (Fobbit). All in all it was a nice stop. I wish them well and if you are south of Kansas City, check them out. See more..

    Crossroads Brewery image
I came here for my birthday after already going to another brewery in the area. I had a horrible experience at the previous spot and almost turned back to forget about my bday for another year, but this place is possibly the best brewery I've been to in yrs. Upon walking in was told Happy Birthday due to the sash I was wearing. Which was not even noticed at the previous spot. I also was excited to see that when you walk in they have a game wall which is always fun. The bartender was the sweetest most professional I've seen in awhile. The selection was great and reminded me of being at International Tap House. I got a flight of some of my favorite styles and was super surprised to see a mead on tap. I got the Gin Genie Lager, which was the one we started with, it had great flavor if you like ginger which my husband loves. Then we got The Big Sip which was there scotch ale, It had great color but was a little sweet for my taste. Very tradition though. Then we got the Cosmic Zipper which is an IPA and also my favorite style of beer. It is 7% so nothing outrageous which is the way i like my IPA's. Super smooth I liked it so much i had to buy a growler of it. I definitely recommend it. The last one we got was the mead because it was a coffee mead which is my weakness. This mead was unbelievable!!! So smooth perfectly sweet without being over the top and had the most amazing coffee flavor. I was so impressed i asked more questions about who made it and am now and Instagram follower of his. I also bought a growler of this one which they dont normally do but wholly cow i would have begged for. The aromas of all of our selections were amazing right off the bat. There were no off flavors and they were super smooth. This place was my favorite of all 5 stops we went to. I will definitely be back and I hope everyone of you go there too. This place needs to be more well known. I Love Love Love this place. Did I say I Love it lol but I do. See more..
  34. 4.0 The Goat Brewing Co (1 review)
    - A new (& welcome) addition to KC area microbreweries
    Wednesday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Breweries
This is a new brewery that opened in late June. Goat is tying into KC history with the Pendergast era in the roaring 20s. Pendergast political "Goats" vs their opposition Rabbits. I love that they tied the theme in everything they did for look and feel of the place. The tip box is listed as "Bribes" and their hours of operation are listed in the front as "Speakeasy or Legitimate Business Hours." I could not find a list of beers so I messaged them (yes they have FB page along with website). The automatic response was: Thanks for messaging us. We are most likely brewing beer, tasting beer or researching beer right now, but we will get back to you." They do have a good variety of beers fro NE IPA, RIS, Saison, Belgian Tripel and Belgian Dark Strong at least on this outing. I did like very much what I tasted and we agreed this would be worth coming back for another tasting when we do another brewery trip. All in all worth checking (and supporting!) this new brewery.
