If you're looking to float in the Branson area, White River Kayaking is the place to go! Not only are the prices fair, but the staff is friendly and very helpful. They've got a few different float options that are perfect for people of all ages and abilities! The water is super cold, but it is excellent to cool off with in this heat. Young or old, short trip or a long one, beginners or experienced floaters, this place has something for everyone. I highly recommend adding kayaking to your vacation plans! See more..

We rented two days from Windy’s - one day on the Jack’s Fork and one day on the Current. A canoe and tandem kayak each day (we have 4 ppl, 2 adults and 2 children). The employees were so nice and knowledgeable. Fabulous customer service! We also appreciated that the bathrooms at the business are air conditioned - so much easier to change out of wet clothes! Would not hesitate to rent from them again should we come back to the area (and, after this great getaway, we probably will)! See more..

Staff was super nice and helpful. This was a great place to go for a group of people or a family reunion. We stayed at the Hiller House. So convenient. It was right across the street from the resort check-in so we had the store and restaurant. This house has 10 queen beds, 5 or 6 toilets and showers. Full size fridge, stove, microwave and coffee maker. I gave it four stars because there isn't any counters. So make sure you bring tables to set up in the kitchen for food prep. I also loved that the drop-in for the float was right across the street. Everyone was able to get great cell service unless you had Verizon. See more..

    - Josh's Cabin

    Current River Canoeing Missouri image
More "stabbin" than cabin in my expert opinion but if youre into a cheap place to hang w friends, this is it. The basement doubles as a dunegeon that locks from the outside so all your nightmares can come true (dont ask how I know) Also, no need to bring cell phones. The fact there is no service adds to the adventure. All in all, exciting trip. See more..

Very nice trip down the Elk River in a 6 person raft. River was nice level, only had to pull a couple of times because we hit bottom. Rented through River Ranch with no hassles at all. Stayed at The Dam House - very unique house with the perfect location by the dam on the river. Highly recommend. See more..

Excellent, friendly service. Booking was easy. Owner called me a day early when it was going to be pouring rain. He suggested the following morning, which was great. The river was a beautiful paddle. I would definitely paddle with this company again See more..
  7. 3.5 The Landing Canoe and Tube Trips (31 reviews)
    - Almost perfect float trip.
    Kayaking & Canoeing
The Landing Canoe and Tube Trips image
First off the people at the Landing were wonderful took us up the river and got us into our raft no problems at all. However this would be a 10/10 float trip except for the idiots in their boats that fly up and down the river dodging in and out of all the rafts, canoes, tubes, etc. I’m honestly surprised that there isn’t more accidents. We did the 9 mile float which was great then the second day we went South of Van Buren to big springs in our own kayaks and it was another spectacular trip besides the idiots in the boats. If you are unfamiliar with boating rules don’t worry about it they don’t know either. Just keep your head on a swivel and enjoy nature at its finest. See more..

  9. 2.0 Elk River Floats & Kozy Kamp (27 reviews)
    - You’ve been warned
    Kayaking & Canoeing
Elk River Floats & Kozy Kamp image
Possible the worst place I’ve every stayed. There are facilities but it would be no difference in using the restroom in the woods. Have to bring your own toilet paper. No showers. Was completely flooded for the most part and staff is next to useless and rude. Wrist band also was cheaply made and fell off. Had to pay double even thou same person gave me the wristband. Camp sites not marked and basically a free for all which lead to many people wondering through ours. Very disorganized the rate was 15$ a Person for basically nothing. Also due to heavy rain they wouldn’t allow me to use my own boats/raft to put in at there location and get out at there other locations. Insisted it was a liability and had to use there equipment for extra money. The public let in was 100 yards away carried my gear to that boat ramp. Be aware this organization has many places along the elk. Kozy kamp, wayside, shade beach and others. See more..

15 of us stayed here two weeks ago and we had a great time. We stayed in the Grizzly Ridge Cabins and we were not disappointed with the accommodations. Each cabin had two double beds, electricity, and AC which blew cool air all night. The grounds were very clean and there were multiple picnic tables to use around the campsite. There was a large rock fire pit with a grill and a grill top where we could cook for the entire group. The river, although there was no rain for some time, still was high and dragging was minimal. We will be back!! See more..

Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground image
Float trip. Rafts that are full of patches leaked air. Room smelled. They don’t provide sheets or towels for a one bed cabin at almost $200 for two nights. We were not made aware of this when booking our stay. Dusty dirt roads. Bar and grill had some good food and great entertainment but lack of adequate air conditioning kept us away. We had a good time but will choose another outfitter next time. See more..

    Two Sons Floats image
"If our guests are gonna die in a tornado in a concrete bathroom, then god damn it, we are too" - Mick Myers, reenacting the amazing management of Two Sons Floats. Two Sons is the best float in Noel. Their guys bend over backwards to make sure their guests are happy. They continuously checked on us during horrendous weather this weekend. Thursday night was a tornado a mile a way at 1AM. Will and his guys came down to get us in the shelter and hung there with us to make sure we were good. Then Friday the campground got hit with hours and hours of rain, but there was Will and Ashley there to take care of us again. My friends and I have been traveling down to The Elk for over a decade now to do our annual vacation there, and Two Sons has been by far the best out of all the floats/camps in the entire town. The campground itself is quiet and right on the river. It's a pretty place. 5 stars. Thanks, Will, from the KC crew See more..

I had the pleasure of floating the James twice this fall. Hootentown Canoe Rental took care of us. Diane, Jen, and their crew made both floats very enjoyable. Diane is very familiar with the nuances of the James River. I had never floated this stretch, yet she did a terrific job of explaining all significant landmarks, and navigable forks of the river. I am sure that they have a lot of repeat customers based on how kind they are. The store was also stocked well. It is to be noted that I brought my canoe. The shuttle fee was very reasonable. Diane helped me unload and load my canoe. She also picked me up at the exact time specified. She is an excellent outfitter! See more..

Stanton KOA is the same facility, so we pulled in and hooked up, then left on the bus for the river. Once we finished the float, we just used an on-site phone to call for our ride back and Dan arrived within 15 minutes to take us back to the KOA. Dan cooks BBQ in the office/restaurant, so dinner was simple and it was delicious! It was just so easy to have a nice day with the kids floating down the river! See more..

This is our favorite place to camp when floating the Niangua. The campground is clean, right next to the water, and the owners are fantastic to work with! This is NOT a party place. They are very family friendly and keep their facilities clean. They are very reasonable on cost and their equipment is always in tip-top shape! See more..

A gravel bar with random sites, unmarked and confusing. Electrical pedistals were a OSHA nightmare, bare wires, panels missing breaker covers, pedestals that have 2 panels but only 1 -30 amp service, etc. Long hike to the shower house, and the "outhouse" was unusable. See more..

    - Good, but could be better
River Rafting & Tubing • Gear Rentals • Kayaking & Canoeing
The staff is good , accommodating, and polite, but they could use some help with their website. They are located in the middle of nowhere and it turns out they have multiple locations they use for different purposes. I’m glad we tried to find them the day before, or we would not have arrived in time. My only other advice might be to either bring your own paddle, or make sure you have one your size. I’m tall and had a paddle way too short for me. I had a hard time on certain rapids and turned over once. See more..

This was such a family-friendly excursion! We rented both canoes and kayaks. We had first timers and experienced paddlers on the river. The price was reasonable, the employees were cordial and quick to pick us up once we arrived at our stopping point. The scenery was breathtaking! For someone who has never kayaked, I left wanting to purchase one! I guess the cautions are to not try this in flood waters. There were two shallow points where we had to get out and drag the kayaks a few feet, but we were warned of that before we took off. Also, no bathrooms/rest areas/outhouses were available. There were, however, beaches where you could stop, eat lunch, & regroup. See more..

We always have a great time when we come here. The owners are super nice and really helpful. We took the 6 mile float trip with canoes in the past, but decided to take the shorter 2 mile by raft this time, only because we didn't have time for the longer route. It was relaxing. We all can't wait to go back again! See more..

My son, 4 grandsons and myself just booked the river raft tour at Old Cove July 25, 2020. It was an amazing experience. Twins are 10 then 15 and 17. I am 64 my son 43. Great for all ages. Felt safe. People working there were friendly, helpful, just so kind. Great information. Great places to stop along the river to swim and have a picnic. Few spots gave us a little thrill to paddle through. We were in a 7 man raft pulling a cooler raft. Easy 4 hour trip... can easily stay open to close. Will definitely go again. See more..

    - Family Floating

It was our first time river floating and KC's did a great job explaining equipment options and float procedures to us. We felt well taken care of. The river is very nice: many places where we could not touch bottom but also many places along shore to pull over and take a float break. It was nice to have a tube with a head rest. See more..

The owners, Greg and Janive Smith, are exceptionally friendly and helpful. If I could, I would have given more than the 5 stars. I have never had a better experience in my 50 plus years floating and camping in Missouri. The 9 mile float on the Big Piney River is the perfect length. The river is easy to navigate with many places to stop, camp, swim or picnicking. The trip can be done in around 3 hours but plan to spend the whole day or camp, enjoying the incredibly scenic and peaceful experience. Don't forget the sunscreen! See more..

    - 4TH LONGEST RIVER IN THE WORLD SEEN FROM A KAYAK

MIdwest Sea Kayak & Tour Co image
Neither I, nor my husband had ever even touched a kayak before our journey on the Mississippi. We met at the shore, got into the kayak and took a 45 minute lesson with the instructor. We discovered that keeping the kayak afloat is easier than we thought (they look tippy) and to a large extent, balance involves the knees. We also learned that getting back into the kayak, should you fall over, is also much easier than it looks. The instructor indicated that he instructs all skill and physical fitness levels, but we would recommend that, to really enjoy this activity, the student should be able to comfortably fit in the kayak and should be in reasonably good physical condition. The instructor does not paddle at an Olympic pace, and he even towed one of us when we got behind, but this activity still requires some exertion. The best part of this trip was paddling in the middle of the grand Mississippi with the verdant bluffs at our side, curious birds swooping overhead and fish jumping into the air. We took the trip on a hot, hot, hot summer day and it felt so good to have The Big Drink splash back at us and cool us down. From the center, the river is much bigger than it appears from the shores or bluffs, and being on the river offers an unanticipated perspective…massive, independent, very powerful, quiet, soothing…The Miss is a confident river that gets its way when it wants it. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the river, towns and rules of navigation on the river. The instructor told us stories about the history of the light keepers, fishermen and the Mississippi as a major commercial highway. The price was reasonable and well worth the adventure! See more..

We live in Fenton and we were there in 25 minutes and dropped our canoe right in off the parking lot! We had an awesome, no hassle float trip. We floated on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and there were no large crowds or rowdy people. The water was very clean and our bus driver (also the owner) was so nice and kept us entertained the whole bus ride home with jokes and stories. He mentioned he is retiring, so we want to wish him good luck and thank you for a great day! See more..

Attempted to take my children floating for their first time and am very upset I gave this establishment a chance. They were an hour and half late and showed up with beat up patched canoes I wouldn't trust and didn't have enough life vest and when I told him I wanted my money back he got very defensive and proceeded to cuss and yell at my wife and I in front of our children and he was the owner. Not 100% sure but from other reviews I have read they don't even have a business licence. I am reporting them to the BBB and the chamber of commerce in their area. I have never been treated like this business. See more..
