We were passing through Columbia on a Friday morning, and decided to stop at the Midway Antique Mall, about 8 miles west of Columbia. From the front of the building, it looks like a rather large building. However, once you get into the building, you realize that it covers about five times what it looks like from the front. There are inexpensive items, for those looking for a bargain, and there are fine, more expensive items for those looking for collectibles. Through in homemade soaps, baked goods, and other refreshments, and it will take most of the day to go through. If you love flea markets, and/or antique malls, don't miss this one.See more..
I really liked this antique mall. Most of the prices seemed reasonable. The set-up was nice and it was well lit. Some of the spaces seemed a little overcrowded which made you afraid to walk in any further for the fear of breaking something. But I would definitely visit again.See more..

I visited Hermann’s Attic a few months ago on a weekday. I bought a Scottie dog planter and a rack with 8 vintage kitchen tools. The store has quite a few booths, lots of records and books. I collect cat figurines but none were available. I didn’t have lots of time that day to browse the entire shop. The shop has many vintage items and prices were average. This is an awesome old building full of unique treasures. This store is on the corner of Main Street, by the "big clock." Years ago, when I was just a small child, this building housed a store called " Sterling's Department Store." I have many fond memories of going there with my mom to choose yardage of fabric for new mother and daughter dresses. When I go into this antique store, I can still see her smiling, as she and I would walk hand in hand looking around at all the new items. This is one antique store that is well worth stopping by, if only to just browse for awhile. Be sure to check out the basement level too, there is quite a bit there to see, as well. The people who work there are very helpful and can assist you in finding even the most specific of items. This is part of the re-development area of "Old Downtown Cape." Be prepared to buy something you probably don't need because you will find something here. There is a Rt 66 sign with holes cut out for your head for a fun photo. He does have a collector rt 66 wooden nickel for the shop. Plan a few extra minutes on this stop, Jerry is a talker and we enjoyed his stories. Before you know it he busts out his harmonica and will play for you. Store is old and cluttered and just perfect for an antique shop. Be sure to get your photo with him, he is somewhat a legend on the route. Double thumbs up, worth a detour.
