  1. 4.5 Stone Hill Winery (718 reviews)
    - One of my favorites, a classic, #1 attraction for a reason
    Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Stone Hill Winery image
Established in 1847, and well before there was a Napa Valley wine industry, Stone Hill grew to be the second largest winery in the United States! Stone Hill wines were world renowned, winning gold medals in eight world's fairs, including Vienna in 1873 and Philadelphia in 1876. By the 1870's, the winery was shipping 1,250,000 gallons of wine per year. Unfortunately, Prohibition swept away the state's burgeoning wine industry interrupting and destroying Missouri's momentum in the industry. Stone Hill's labyrinth of arched underground cellars (the largest series in North America) were sidelined into harvesting mushrooms rather than wine, until 1965, when Jim and Betty Held bought the winery. Along with their young children, the Held's began the long process of restoring the historic buildings, cellars, and an industry which had fallen into disrepair. Jim and Betty's primary task: producing and marketing the finest wines that can be made and putting Hermann back on the map as a world-class wine producing area gained them repeated recognition throughout the past 50 years. Today Stone Hill is Missouri's oldest and most awarded winery. Stone Hill's yearly production is approximately 300,000 gallons of wine, using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technology. Stone Hill's winemaking team produces wines that are again receiving international acclaim. Winning more than 4,000 awards since 1991, Stone Hill Winery has continuously ranked among the nation's top award winners. Norton, Missouri's official state grape - a big, full-bodied red - is the pride of Stone Hill. The 2011 Norton and 2012 Cross J Norton both won a trifecta of awards including the coveted Missouri Governor's Cup adding to 8 other Stone Hill Winery Governor Cup awards. Stone Hill also uses French-American hybrid grapes such as Vidal, Chardonel and Vignoles, making sophisticated wines leading Missouri to reclaim its viticulture history. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Stone Hill... See more..

    Adam Puchta Winery image
Adam Puchta Winery, located off Hwy. 100 on the banks of Frene Creek about 2.5 miles southwest of Hermann, is the oldest family farm winery in Missouri. Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the fact that the same family has continuously owned it since 1855. We are a true farm winery with a peaceful, laidback setting. - Great Winery
    Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Montelle Winery image
We enjoyed a beautiful warm spring afternoon here sitting outside on the deck. Upon entry, we were able to sample wines inside and tasted several that we liked. We were then directed to a counter to place our order where they would page us via a buzzer when our order was ready. We then had to go inside to pick it up. There was a lot of seating on the multi-tiered deck. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and a talented singer/guitar player was entertaining us. Besides the wine being delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed and shared the jumbo pretzel served with meats, cheeses, and fruit. We want to return to Montelle Winery when we are back in the area. 5. 4.5 Hermannhof Vineyards (323 reviews)
    - Great winery
    Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Hermannhof Vineyards image
Hermannhof's ten magnificent stone cellars and charming brick superstructure are among the 100 early Hermann buildings placed on the National Register of Historic places by the Federal government. Construction of a brewery/winery commenced in 1848 and was completed in 1852 in the French section of Hermann. Hermannhof's wine making was initially a small part of this very successful brewery. By 1904, the Hermann area produced 3 million gallons of wine, most of which were produced by small wine growers, many of whom utilized the facilities of Hermannhof. Prohibition began a forced long sleep for Hermann with the vineyards being uprooted and the equipment destroyed or sold to Europeans. In 1974, the Hermannhof Cellars were purchased by the Dierberg family and renewal began. Today, all the cellars are utilized in premium wine production of 15,000 cases. These historic cellars contain casks made from white oak from the forests of France and Missouri. Here the wine continues to improve wit See more..

Stopped in here for a nice "al fresco" lunch. It was the off season, late October, but the weather was great so we sat on the deck with a great view of the lake. Not very crowded this time of year. I could see this would be a fun place to stay n the warmer months, a winery on the edge of town with a pool and a few cabins right on the lake. The wine, beer and pizza were all very good. See more..

Stopped by the winery on a bike ride on Saturday, June 9th and it was packed. The weather was beautiful and even though there were long lines, the staff kept them moving. We were able to get our bottle of wine quickly and find a spot to sit. The band was excellent and everyone seemd to be enjoying themselves After awhile, we decided to get something to eat. I ordered the bison burger - absolutely delicious! It was quite a burger with a generous helping of fries. Just the thing I needed to fill up my tank before heading back out. All in all, we had great service, great music and a great time at Crown Valley! See more..

At first this is just another winery. You go inside do your taste testings....buy a bottle of wine...then walk down a steep but paved hill to get to the cave. Sitting in the cave was different than all the other wineries we have been to. After drinking your wine you do have to climb the hill back up to your car. See more..

  15. 3.5 Cedar Lake Cellars (93 reviews)
    - Beautiful location
    Wineries & Vineyards
    Cedar Lake Cellars image
The winery is romantic, even in the middle of winter. Many lights with reflection of the lake make the winery truly memorable. Their main dining area is also very nice with a fireplace and several windows looking toward the lake. The wine and food are delicious. The only downside that we experienced was wait time, including our check. The restaurant was severely understaffed and it seemed that, literally, there was only one waitress with a few others trying to help with service. However, overall, it was a wonderful night. - great
    Tuesday: Wineries & Vineyards
    Endless Summer Winery image
We stopped at Endless Summer Winery while checking out the more rural wineries in Hermann. Endless Summer is across the river and beyond a couple of small towns, so I'm not sure how they got a Hermann address. It's basically a private winery at someone's house, but the wine is really good and the owners are really nice. They make fruit wine with non-grape fruits. We tried them all and they were all really good. See more..

There were several we liked. Also enjoyed two orders of cheese and crackers. Loved the music on July 31, a husband and wife duo. Good music…not too loud and a variety of music. (Don’t forget to tip!) Heinrichshaus Vineyard And Winery image
On a road trip of 835 miles to tour wineries in five states, this was by far the most interesting and best wine of the bunch. Heinrich was a gem as he gave us an education on grapes, wines, and the importance of the wine trade in France. We weren't sure what to expect when we drove out to what we thought was a deserted home, as it was off the beaten path, and tucked away in a forest of trees. But it was well worth the drive, the adventure, and the case of wine we left with. Writing this review while drinking his Missouri Vignoles and thinking we should have bought more. See more..

The vineyard is very nice. Have been here before. Great service, very good selection of wines (we like sweet and sister likes dry). Yummy pizza. Good value, their dog is good and friendly. Love the seating, in or out. We sat outside. You can sit under the roof or out on the patio and even out below the patio on the well cut grass. We and our 2 dogs visited with my sister, brother in law and their 2 dogs after hiking the state park pickle creek trail. Was less than 15 minutes away. Will return again and would recommend to others. See more..

My wife and I were very impressed with the beauty of this winery. Moreover, we felt welcomed into this safe environment that managed to figure out that customers are not contagions. Wonderful tasting experience while other wineries in the area seemed bothered by us pesky intruders. We came back for a delicious dinner and will treasure the complete experience. See more..

We are dedicated to providing our winery guests with a warm welcome and tasty Missouri-made wine, beer and food. Currently we are rebuilding after a fire and moved into a new building in April of 2018. We are still working on several projects in and around the property, so please excuse our 'dust'. Our kitchen offers a full lunch menu from 11am-6pm Thursday through Sunday, so be sure to stop in for a delicious bite to eat along with your wine or your beer! See more..
