If you're looking to float in the Branson area, White River Kayaking is the place to go! Not only are the prices fair, but the staff is friendly and very helpful. They've got a few different float options that are perfect for people of all ages and abilities! The water is super cold, but it is excellent to cool off with in this heat. We rented two days from Windy’s - one day on the Jack’s Fork and one day on the Current. A canoe and tandem kayak each day (we have 4 ppl, 2 adults and 2 children). The employees were so nice and knowledgeable. Fabulous customer service! We also appreciated that the bathrooms at the business are air conditioned - so much easier to change out of wet clothes! Would not hesitate to rent from them again should we come back to the area (and, after this great getaway, we probably will)!See more..
Don’t look elsewhere to rent a bike, if biking on or near the Katy Trail! The owner and employees of the Katy Trail Bike Rental are the most accommodating and helpful folks you could find anywhere. They picked us up at the appointed location and drove us to our starting point on the trail. They delivered our luggage to each of our stops, and provided us with well functioning bicycles for our Katy Trail bike trip. They also helped with “mapping out “ what would be the best stops based on our preferences, including suggesting names of hotels to stay at. All this for a reasonable fee!See more..

We started in Defiance because of the bike rentals there. We took a weekend away to camp for two nights and float the Eleven Point River. There are no actual assigned camp sites which means that there is significantly more privacy than most campgrounds. I had the pleasure of floating the James twice this fall. Hootentown Canoe Rental took care of us. Diane, Jen, and their crew made both floats very enjoyable. Diane is very familiar with the nuances of the James River. I had never floated this stretch, yet she did a terrific job of explaining all significant landmarks, and navigable forks of the river. I am sure that they have a lot of repeat customers based on how kind they are. The store was also stocked well. It is to be noted that I brought my canoe. The shuttle fee was very reasonable. They are located in the middle of nowhere and it turns out they have multiple locations they use for different purposes. I’m glad we tried to find them the day before, or we would not have arrived in time. My only other advice might be to either bring your own paddle, or make sure you have one your size. I’m tall and had a paddle way too short for me. I had a hard time on certain rapids and turned over once.See more..

We took the 6 mile float trip with canoes in the past, but decided to take the shorter 2 mile by raft this time, only because we didn't have time for the longer route. It was relaxing. We have used these campsites and rocky river for floating current river 4/5 times. The tent sites always have power and water spickets for hose hook ups. The camp sites are clean, have fire boxes for roasting s’mores or just having a cozy camp fire. The staff is friendly and courteous. The site offers RV sites as well. Also on the property is a shower house with bathrooms. They offer tube rentals to include cadillacs, and cooler tubes. They even have canoes and kayaks. My son, 4 grandsons and myself just booked the river raft tour at Old Cove July 25, 2020. It was an amazing experience. Twins are 10 then 15 and 17. I am 64 my son 43. Great for all ages. Felt safe. People working there were friendly, helpful, just so kind. Great information. Great places to stop along the river to swim and have a picnic. Few spots gave us a little thrill to paddle through. We were in a 7 man raft pulling a cooler raft. Easy 4 hour trip... can easily stay open to close. Will definitely go again.See more..
What an amazing and personalized way to finish up our family spring break getaway! Wayland and Sabra were fantastic hosts on our UTV adventure thru the sites of Eminence Missouri. They couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating on our tour. We wanted to take our kids to see the wild horses of Shannon County and they delivered!
