This is one of my favorite sightseeing site in Hangzhou. The park is very well designed and maintained. It reminds me of the Everglades of Florida, except that it felt cleaner and is free of alligators. I learned that the park houses flora and fauna. We found a bird watching area where avids can sit inside a hut with benches and lookout holes to wait and spot the different types of birds that make this wetland their home. We also found fruit trees all over the park, including persimmon, pomelo, oranges, etc. The best way to see the park is to walk along the well built trails as well as to take the boat rides. Entrance fee is only 80 RMB for adults. You will need to pay another 60 RMB for the boat ride that make 4 stops within the park. See more..

The most popular scenic areas are 2 Ling's (Lingfeng, Lingyan) and 1 Dragon (Big Dragon Pond Waterfall), so check those 3 places out first, then explore the others. There are plenty of photos already here to give you an idea what to see. Be prepared that Yangdangshan is very much authentic Chinese - if your diet is western food, you're in the wrong place. I missed my coffee and ham & egg breakfast so bad when I was there, the hotel breakfast is nothing compared to McDonald's. Ended up riding through Longjing village on a bike ride around Hangzhou. Wonderful village, with mile upon mile of tea leaves each side! A main town was full of restaurants and tea bars - I'm amazed so many can stay in business! Ended up going up a long hill on the bike, before entering a long tunnel and coming out to even more tea fields the other side. Wonderful to see the women working picking the leaves. I do need to work on mastering how to drink the tea, I find the physical tea leaves annoying in the drink! Needs to be strained, although locals don't seem to drink it that way. First, don't believe some guys taking an album and persuading you to follow them. The whole sight is FREE, or you'll pay unnecessary money. Second, search some information about Lu Xun. It is easy to find on Google. If not, you'll all messed up and everything you see is some old buildings. The main value of this sight is that it recorded Lu Xun and his ancestors' life. For visitors who are not Chinese, some preparation is really essential. Third, Shaoxing is a small town. English speakers are far more less that major cities like Hangzhou. And locals mainly speak dialects, which is different form Mandarin. So install a translation software of find a guide is a good choice. Wish you to have a happy tour! P.S. I went here with my girlfriend at night and it was a relaxing spot that made for a good date night. The island wasn't very busy which was a bonus. Basically, there are 3 sections to the island....a park/pond area, an amusement park (each ride charges individually, around 20/25 rmb each), and a water park (150 rmb entrance fee). There are also some restaurants and a hotel at the end. An easy way to access the island is to take the ferry located on JiangBin Road, which is included in the 25 rmb entrance fee. Those who are even trying to compare to West Lake in Hangzhou are not being at all fair on this place and though yes it does have nominal similarities, that's it. This is about 120 years old, the brainchild of a local Qing lord who wanted to build a playground out of an ancient bluestone quarry. If you ignore the age of the place and just enjoy its natural beauty and elegance then you can't help but love it. I think my photos speak better than my prose can allow, so I will just say that it may or may not be worth doing the cave boat ride as it's not dirt cheap by Chinese standards and only lasts about 15 minutes, but the price of entry into the attraction is more than worth it. Take time to explore every inch of the grounds which go all the way to the caves and all the way up the hill. A great way to spend the morning, especially on a sunny day like we had! See more..

Premier attraction is the hike to Sword Forging Pond (Jian Chi) – named after Mo Xie & Gan Jiang (married sword smiths who made & polished 2 beautiful swords for emperor, by this pool fed by three waterfalls. Good walkways, wooden pagodas and viewing points. It’s a 30 minute hike down from Yinshan Jie (Street). Difficult hike back but still manageable. There are many routes to get there. Start from Yinshan Jie right in front of ZTG Mingting Hotel (no signage indicating start of hike to Sword Pond). Go down the outdoor spiral staircase and follow the stone path as it meander through bamboos and a stream. Pass by Maple Villa, a grand mansion under restoration. Next is the Seven Bells Pond (can rest there). Path descends steeper to the statue of Husband & Wife (Mo Xie & Gan Jiang) by a pond and waterfall. Rest at the convenience store which sells drinks and snacks. Follow the steep steps down to a series of waterfall and ponds, the last of which is the Sword Pond (with timber deck and bivouc pavilion lookout. There are strategically located pavilions at various vantage points that offer fantastic photo opportunities of the Sword pond. The path continues down but I did not explore due to insufficient time. Best time: early mornings when it is deserted before loud smoky Chinese tour groups invade. It is a serene and quiet meditative place, worth the hike. See more..

I went there in april...the weather was good....not good enough for swimming...Last year -2012- the had Disneyland Sculptures....amazing... Also the suvenires... The place to eat nearby is not the best...you might want to take come food with you...I was there just one day....no idea about hotels... Is worth visiting! See more..

Qin Dynasty was built 2200 years ago. Now we can't see the real palace therefore really love this studio palace especially after watching very popular China drama of Qin dynasty. It is much more smaller than Ming Qing palace 明清宫 but still my number 1. There are 3 show every day with different theme, by morning, noon and evening. We were able to watch 2 of it because we need to rush back to Hangzhou. Visited on Mac 2019. See more..
