The grounds of the pagoda were beautifully landscaped. it was a easy walking area for the most part. The lift up to the top of the pagoda was an easy to get to the top and see the city from the fourth floor. I was also able to ring the bell outside of the pagoda for ten rings. The TianFeng Tower lies at the back entrance to the ChengHuang Temple. Cross a small alley and you will see the ticket office (5元 for entrance). The tower is surrounded by a small garden scattered with a few trees and benches. There are several narrow staircases to the top, they seem to be narrower the higher you get. The top floor is pretty small and the balcony has been sealed off. The view is nothing spectacular but if your new in the area take a look around and get your bearings. The roofs of the nearby buildings are all very traditional and look nice from above. Getting to the tower is easy, its in the centre of Ningbo. Get a bus to KaiMing Jie (开明街) or XianXue Jie (县学街) then head towards the Chenghuan Temple (across the road from MacDonalds). The tower is next to the temple.See more..

If you want to find a quiet place to rest, Moganshan is one of your choice. It is famous place to avoid hot summer, there are many villas around the whole mountain, which are connected with many famous persons in Chinese history of last century. One can take train or bus from Hangzhou to Deqing county, then transfer taxi to Mountain. Although the mountain is not very high, where you can hiking within one day, & most of tourist will return Deqing county on the same day, I suggest that one stay there at least one night to breath the fresh air in the next morning. Summer & fall, as well as public holidays, are rush reasons (hotels pricie will rush too), beside these days, you can find hotel with reaonable price. If you are tired with crowded West Lake of Hangzhou, you can arrange a trip to Moganshan.See more..

This is a very quite old architecture complex or manor. It belonged to a big prospery family for a couple of hundreds of years. Now the main part are changed into protection building area and as tourist spot while the other parts still using by local people as normal houses. You could found most of the antient chinese wood architecture techniques, so beautiful and magnificent woodcraving. The huge lantern (duplicate displaying now) is also the signature thing there. a guide or some friends know something about the architecture, the tour would be well worth the time. This was surprisingly ok as so many of the displays were also in English. It was interesting to read all about this fellow and his history with silk, real estate and banking. Also interesting to see the last part showing photos of his descendants in todays modern time as they still visit the town regularly. It's also a large compound. Firstly, it's not really a tower. Bai Jian Lou is basically 100 old houses situated alongside the canal at Nan Xun Ancient Town. What's so amazing about this place is that it is still lived by the locals. The old houses are renovated on the inside for modern living but the outside still maintains the original structure and design. You can still find locals washing clothes on the river, fishing, dancing, and pretty much going about their days as usual. Not much commercialism at this part of the town, hope it will stay this way. Really refreshing change from the busy hectic life of the big cities. Just find a good spot to sit and watch. It's amazing. See more..
So it's possible I had this experience because of the nearby construction or because it's winter, but there wasn't really much going on here. The buildings themselves are pretty, but they're also mostly empty as well. Each one has a sign in both English and Chinese outside, but inside there's not much hint to what you're looking at. Still, it made for a pleasant afternoon wander. One surprise was a fighter plane, which was apparently gifted to Longyou years ago to keep safe.See more..
