This is one of my favorite sightseeing site in Hangzhou. The park is very well designed and maintained. It reminds me of the Everglades of Florida, except that it felt cleaner and is free of alligators. I learned that the park houses flora and fauna. We found a bird watching area where avids can sit inside a hut with benches and lookout holes to wait and spot the different types of birds that make this wetland their home. We also found fruit trees all over the park, including persimmon, pomelo, oranges, etc. The best way to see the park is to walk along the well built trails as well as to take the boat rides. Entrance fee is only 80 RMB for adults. You will need to pay another 60 RMB for the boat ride that make 4 stops within the park. See more..
This is another one of the Top 10 scenic sights in West Lake. It is located on the south side of the lake. This was once a private residence and I believe it got its name after the red kois in the pond. There are also plenty of lotus flowers and peonies within the garden that offers free admission. Although we could not see the moon at the time of our visits but the reflection of pavilions on the calm lake was photogenic and enjoyable. You'll need to stay 3 nights, having 2 whole days to explore the scenery. The most popular scenic areas are 2 Ling's (Lingfeng, Lingyan) and 1 Dragon (Big Dragon Pond Waterfall), so check those 3 places out first, then explore the others. There are plenty of photos already here to give you an idea what to see. Be prepared that Yangdangshan is very much authentic Chinese - if your diet is western food, you're in the wrong place. I missed my coffee and ham & egg breakfast so bad when I was there, the hotel breakfast is nothing compared to McDonald's. I have stayed here many times over the last 10 years. It was built for tourists, mostly Chinese nationals, who come to the area to enjoy the mountains, lakes, streams and quiet. Over the years a major highway has been built across the little river from the resort so it is not nearly as quiet as in 2004. It still has a beautiful garden area and the rooms have always been clean but the beds are typical of China and are extremely hard by western standards. About 40 miles south of Hangzhou, this is the birthplace of the legendary beauty Xishi. So, before you visit this place, do get yourself learned about her story and this trip would be amazing. There's also an exhibition hall depicting famous women in the history of ancient China; that includes goddesses and deities. There's also a Chinese restaurant within the grounds which offers some delicious local dishes. It takes about one full day to fully unravel this beautiful place.See more..

I use to drive bicycle to NanBei lake from Haining city. Lake is located between the hills near to coast. It is laid-back area with less tourist. You can just walk around the lake, visit small island in the middle or rent a boat. Local people selling souvenirs and fruits. If you cannot speak basic Chinese you will have problem to order a meal in restaurants as they do not have English menu or menu with pictures. From the hills above is nice view of lake and from eastern hill you can see Hangzhou bay. I have never met a foreigner there, it is really not a known attraction. And actually not worth for visit as there are plenty of others in China.See more..

We went there with our two kids - 2 years and 5 years - for one day and I can say that we all had so much fun. I need to mention that we were there during the week, therefore very few people which might be different at the weekends. Thus we never had to queue up anywhere. I would say that this park is perfect for kids between four and twelve years old, but they also provided some attractions for our small one. Besides they also have a lot of shows and a Hello Kitty Parade. Compared to the Hello Kitty Land close to Tokyo, I would recommend this one.See more..

I loved this place. The village at the top, despite having to pay to get in was so cute. Walk all the way up and around to the waterfall and aqua blue rock pool that will take you breath away. We started off on the hike in the morning and it wasn't too busy on the trail. It got crowded around noon though. The trail snakes alongside of the river the entire way up and so the air is cool and refreshing. Many of the so-called "waterfalls" are actually just man-made dams so won't see the big waterfall until you reach the end of the trail. The water is clear and creates beautiful blue pools. The blue pool with koi swimming in it was one of my favorite spots. There is a section called "flying mice in the forest "aka a roller coaster that was quite fun actually. It's not very long (maybe 2 minutes?) but if you're looking for a fast and fun way to hike down, I definitely recommend paying for it.See more..

The Chinese name for this place is “Bamboo Sea” and it’s not difficult to see why when you look down from the top. It’s indeed a sea of bamboo trees! Anji is about 3 hours by driving from Shanghai and it’s a nice place for a retreat from the busy city life. Come to the bamboo forest for clean fresh air. This is the venue where Lee Ang filmed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Climb all the way to the top where the view is beautiful. Probably a 30 to 45 minutes climb. At the peak, you can pay 80 rmb to cross the forest via a glass bridge that’s a few hundred meters long. You can also choose to descend via luge. We, like most, chose to walk down. See more..

This is one of my favorite retreats in the city of Taizhou. It is an incredible day of relaxing, strolling, dancing in the square in the evening, enjoying the teahouse along the lake, or climbing one of the nine peaks that rise above the park. If you enjoy photography, this park allows more a multitude of visual opportunities, especially if you climb one of the mountains. There are reconstructions of old houses from more traditional times, which allows you to escape back in time. For young children, an amusement park is also on the site. Many also come here to participate in public square dancing along the pond by the outdoor cafes and teahouses. Truly a refreshing experience in the middle of this most active city. Big area covered with huge number of very nice plants, trees, ponds and typical Chinese bridges. I went through this park looking for something I've thought is there. Unfortunately that was not the place I was looking for. However, my disappointment was not as big as I thought it could be. All because of this piece of natural beauty. Even weather didn't cooperate. That was a rainy day, my umbrella was leaking after hours in the rain. I was alone in the park, but happy to see so many nice plants. You can spend hours there. I recommend this place. The wetland park is a perfect place if you're into bird watching. But even if not, it's still worth a visit if you are looking for some time to kill and something nice to see. The park was still under development, so some areas were sealed off. It is easily accessible using public transportation. Bus number 7 westward and exit at the end stop. You won't miss it since the bus will turn around. Entrance is 60 RMB per adult. Boat ride was free of charge (included in the route), bicycles available for rent, but the area were you can ride a bike is limited.See more..

I move for couple weeks to Cixi city and I am still discover the area and what can I say about this place.... well. I just love parks here. Anad the Zhishan Park is the best!!!!! You can go for running there, trecking the mountain or just take an nice long walk. On the top of the mountain is a great view point for entire city.....Marvelous!!!! And if you continue walk with thiny path you will find the hidden mountain temple. I heard that is a forrbidden place for Cristians.... wonder why... is amazing.See more..

Если пагода открыта, то проходите в неё и поднимаетесь по лестнице слева (не ошибётесь) наверх, а там, на каждом этаже можно выйти на балкон вокруг пагоды - красивое зрелище. Храмы с Буддами также интересные, в них можно фотографировать. А перед храмом на холме, справа, можно посмотреть как растёт чай.See more..

It is a quite and peaceful place to sit and relax, february has the plum blossoms and in march the cherry blossoms are in bloom. I would suggest try to avoid weekends and busy periods as you can't move in there for women taking selfies amongst the trees and kids running riot around the place. There is a small studio inside where you can observe people doing things like flower arranging and painting. If you have been to the busy old town and want a place a bit quieter to catch your breath then head for this park. I frequent it often as it's great for flower and plant photos.See more..
This place is regarded as a mini copy of Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province in china. But personally, it's far from that. I spend 3 days in the mountain. Because it's the winter in China, there won't be many tourists there. The atmosphere is quiet, there is a hot spring under the mountain which is quite comfortable. We drove over from Xikou to spend the day in this mountain park. It is filled with lakes, mountains, vistas and a hotel we were told was a 5 star hotel. I didn't stay there but the facilities around the hotel were not what I would consider 5 star by western standards. This large National Forest Park has a lot to see but it all involves a lot of walking so see any of it. There is a special Geological section of the park for those who are interested in different geological formations and how they all present themselves in this one area. I did enjoy hiking down some of the mountainsides and seeing some of the trails that have been built over the years but if you're not into a lot of hiking and climbing stairs, this is not the place for you.See more..
Only until recent 20 years, this special gold mine was discovered by people and everyone was surpprised to find that the mine was at least opened 1200 years ago till about 400 years ago. Ancient Chinese used quite simple and rough tools (many many charcoal) and managed to creat a very complex and astonishing stereoscopic mine. You can see some thing shining on the mine wall. Too small kids may not enjoy that much. Entrance fee is a bit high.See more..
