The whole village has been transformed into a scenic area, with the southern wall protecting the area from wind. North of Guihu, the Chengshui Langqiao, 8 km north of Guihu village, is a well preserved bridge hidden away in a picturesque valley, the access to this bridge has recently been developed, with a boating lake, and fish pond.    Went exploring and spotted the pagoda in the distance so went looking what a good choice. It is steep to walk up but is a stunning garden and the locals are a joy to meet. I stopped for a break being fat and unfit to watch a group of locals doing Thai chi next thing a policeman in the group was giving me a bottle of water while an older lady fanned me and then got me to join them which got a lot of laughs because of my ability.     Among the visit of most of the Taishun lounge bridge, this one is located downstream your arrival point. It needs a 15min walk down along a small path under the trees with punctual views to admire the bridge in the bottom of the valley. The bridge is a beautiful arch-beam wood bridge above the river flowing between round polished rocks...nice to sit on to watch the bridge from beneath. Then... you will have to climb the path back for 20 minutes... Nothing extraordinary, unless walking up thousands of stone steps in a narrow path isn't in your physical capability.     We ended up going here by accident seeing as the rest of Zhoushan was over-run by Chinese tourists. Lover's Isle or Valentine's island was the highlight of our trip. There are stunning views of the bay, beautiful paths, scenic views, picnic areas and little surprise romantic locations around every corner. Beware of all the mosquitoes, though. Wear long pants or take repellent with you. The entrance fee for the island is about 50 Yuan but it is worth it. You can make it a fun calm hike with your friends and family or a romantic stroll with your loved-one on the forest path surrounded by angel statues and underneath the intertwining trees.     Yuwen is not a wood structure but a stone structure bridge. Connected with a temple, the bridge contains under the roof a place for the monk to live in. The context and the bridge realize a very poetic composition...but not so far, some landscaping works are not in line with the value of this place. Like often within Chinese historical environment, the design relation between old and new is not well skilled when the difference between the respective design of history periods (so obvious and representative of Chinese history) tried to be erased or reduced by some useless damaging mimetic design. If the accesses to the bridges should be developed... there is no need to overdesign them... but rather to maintain the existing in order to avoid the bridges to finally become a kind of Disney attraction.     Firstly, it's not really a tower. Bai Jian Lou is basically 100 old houses situated alongside the canal at Nan Xun Ancient Town. What's so amazing about this place is that it is still lived by the locals. The old houses are renovated on the inside for modern living but the outside still maintains the original structure and design. You can still find locals washing clothes on the river, fishing, dancing, and pretty much going about their days as usual. Not much commercialism at this part of the town, hope it will stay this way.
