Stunningly beautiful! The most beautiful place in Hangzhou!
I went on April 12, 2015 and it was a beautiful day. I came because I was lured by pics uploaded to Baidu's travelling page and I just had to come!. I started from the southern entrance (Bus no. 4 takes you here) and took me two hours to hike through Jiuxi. There were plenty of tea plantations that go all the way up the hills, small restaurants, beautiful streams where couples came for picnics and wedding shoots - it was a very relaxing and atmospheric place. It took me about one hour to get from the southern entrance to the main attraction (Jiu xi 18 streams). The scenery was so beautiful that I can't use words to describe it. It looks so unreal. The color of the water and trees....I totally understand why some couples picked that area for wedding shoots. it's like heaven on earth. All the tourists in Hangzhou come mainly for West Lake. West Lake is beautiful in all four seasons and I really enjoyed my day at West Lake. But not a lot of people know about Jiu xi and honestly, they're missing out!!!

I bicycle or hike through Jiuxi very often. This place can be reached from Qiantang river side (bus 4, 287, 504 stops there) or from Longjing village, then walk down to end of village, pass through Nine Creeks area until you reach the pond with small waterfall. Waterfall is artificial and not always running. Jiuxi use to be crowded during weekends and it is also place where young couples taking their romantic wedding pictures. Hangzhou families with children enjoy shade and play in the streams during hot summer. There are also a few restaurants, barbecue and fishing places along Jiuxi road. Comparing to my first visit 4 years ago the Jiuxi is now much more known and touristy, also more polluted by noise from cars and visitors but it is still beautiful piece of nature. Definitely worth to go.
