A holyland of culture and art in Hangzhou
Gu Shan, widely translated as The Solitary Hill in English, is a quite popular tourist destination in Hangzhou. It is a must-visit site nearby the West Lake. Accepted as the No.1 cultural scenic zone, a part of the highlights of the Scenic Area of the West Lake, Gushan is a holy land of culture and art. This area used to be the center of culture in southeast China. A large number of historic and cultural heritage sites are located here; the old cultural stories and tradition that the former great scholars and cultural elites gave remain here; many old memories of natives are hidden here. The No. 1 must-see tourist site here is Zhejiang Museum. This is your first stop to give a glance at the past and today of Zhejiang province. The West Lake art gallery is a cultural and artistic exhibition hall in China. Nearly, there is an exhibition about the fashion, art and history available here. The No.2 must-see tourist site is Sun Yat-sen Park, which was the provisional palace of emperors in Qing Dynasty, and today is a public park with many historical remains. The No.3 is Xiling Society of Seal Arts, which is a holy land of seal arts or Jinshi Art, and a large number of great sites of history deserves your stay and attention. More to see, eat and play here.

    Quiet area and quite nice
Quite a nice and big area especially the park under Gu Shan which is very quiet and you could easily sit there for a long time. Gu Shan has several areas to see - one was the Remains of the Liaoyao Pavilion from the Qing Dynasty. It's pretty cool.
