We stayed at the Port Lincoln Tourist park for the week and had 2 choices for the Parnkalla Trail. Walk to the left and you are taken along the coast through the silos and into town which is approximately 3.5 kms Saw many people walking, jogging, bike riding We walked in most mornings for coffee browsed the shops and walked back. If you walk to the right you can get to the Marina which is probably more than 4.5 kms. Also depending on the time of day, you get to see the prawn and sardine boats unloading. Great experience See more..

We went on multiple walks along the coastline and jetty. The water is clear. Watching the waves from the cliff tops was cool. Highly recommend this place! See more..

    Spring Gully Conservation Park image
The ladies at the Visitor Centre said I may find a rare white orchid in the Park, so I went along the Cascades Walk looking for it. But alas, i was too late in the season and they had all gone by the time i got there. But the water was running freely over the falls, and provided a relaxing moment, before I returned to the car and the picnic area at the top of the hill. A few kilometres off the main road, and a short 3km walk, but worth it See more..

    Troubridge Island Conservation Park image
We took a trip to the island with our hosts Mark and Lois. The boat arrived on time and our hosts were there to help you on and off the boat.Service with a smile. Speaking of alighting the boat you dont even get wet feet you are transported in the tractors novel chariot to the light house. The ride was worth the money and the island is your own little paradise. We had a day trip so we walked around the island and met the wildlife including a seal that waved us goodbye. Birdlife in abundance, a symphony of natures sounds, sandy beaches with crystal clear waters . A picnic lunch and a self guided tour of the light house cottage. An amazing place to visit. Thanks Lois and Mark for showing us your piece of paradise. The island is a conservation park you can only enter by permission. See more..

  10. 4.5 Stamford Hill Loop Hike (7 reviews)
    - You do it because it is there!
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Stamford Hill Loop Hike image
There are many walking trails in Lincoln National Park, but this one appears to be the most popular. It is a bit over 2 km return, and took me a good hour. It starts off with moderate grades, but gets steeper towards the summit. The track is wide and smooth, with well made stone steps towards the top. There are a couple of seats, and good information signs about Matthew Flinders who climbed up here to spy out the lay of the land in search of water. There is an obelisk at the top in memory of the explorer. The surrounding bush is not very interesting, although there are small flowers here and there. The views at the top are panoramic and distant. Not the most rewarding hike I have done, but I guess you do it because it is there! There are toilets, a picnic ground, shelters and plenty of parking space at the foot of the hill. See more..

    Green Bay image
Green Bay is a little off the beaten tourist track, but it is one of the delights of Port Elliot. You can drive to it, or follow the walking trail around from Horseshoe Bay. It is a narrow inlet between the rocks with a sandy beach at the end. On a calm day this is a fun place for children, on a rough day it is spectacular with giant waves crashing in. It is surrounded by high rocky lookout points: a good place to bring the camera! See more..

I really enjoy using the walking track around the lake. It is nicely maintained and there are usually ducks or birds on/at the lake. The trees provide enough shade that the walk is even pleasant during the heat of Summer. See more..
  22. 2.0 Cathedral Rock (1 review)
    - Not worth it!
Spent < 1 hour Scenic Walking Areas
Expected much more! Really not worth the effort. If you really want to do the walk, it is shorter, more straightforward and easier hike to start from the southern end of tennis courts (cnr Nott & Lambert Streets) NOT from the monument. It will take about 40 mins return, not a circuit just there and back the same way. Walk along the creek path and follow the Nature Walk signs. Go past the sign to the old mines, then up a gravelly rise (crossing the creek bed so the creek is now on your left) to a picnic area. You can just see Cathedral Rock from here. Right after the picnic tables you will need to follow the path over a barbed wire fence into private property, signs indicate that permission to walk is given but of course be respectful that it is private property. After this the path gets very steep and difficult. The Rock formation itself is much smaller and less imposing than I expected! On the return when you are back on the creek walk behind private houses, look out for giant spider sculpture in gum tree. Honestly this was better than the Rock. See more..
