We spent a fantastic day with Wayne today visiting the amazing Painted Desert and many outreaching areas of Cobber Pedy. We left at 9.00am with my 3 young kids in toe and Wayne provided us with a day tour that my kids will remember for many years to come. We spent the whole day with a wonderful tour guide in his 4WD treated perfectly with the tour being well suited to 3 kids under 10. We visited Arckaringa Station, Painted Desert and some wonderfully spectacular views from mountains, just brilliant. We stopped and saved some bearded dragons and we took some wonderful photos that will be with us for a lifetime. Wayne knows this area like no other, don't use anyone else!!See more..

It was obvious from the outset that Karen, Paul and the Cameleers all love and care deeply for the welfare of these gentle giants. Their knowledge and experience with the Camels and a the beautiful landscape is exceptional, and then at the end of each day to bring all of the magic together and come to a comfortable campsite, with delicious food cooked to our tastes, and snuggle up in the clean and comfy swags to sleep under the stars was once of the most relaxing and wonderful holidays we have ever experienced. Camel treks Australia exceeded all of our expectations and made us feel welcome, treated every guest and an individual and ensured that comfort and safety throughout the entire experience was achieved. Luke is a very pleasant and excellent tour guide! He has a lot of knowledge of the region and its wines. He is very accomodating and allows you to tailor the day as you see fit. Our group of 10 friends and family embarked on a Murray River Walk in July. All I can say is I would give this walk and experience the highest rating possible. Our guides, Drew, Jo and Cook extraordinaire, Sally, were absolutely fabulous. We were so impressed with Drew and Jo’s knowledge of the area and the indigenous history in a pair so young and Sally’s cooking skills and presentation of everything was second to none. The walk was fabulous and a lot of fun with much learned along the way. The food and drink were restaurant quality down to every minor detail. The houseboat accommodation was fantastic however I will say it will be even better when the custom built boat becomes part of the adventure. With everyone having their own en-suite, rather than sharing 2 bathrooms between 10 people. Well done Murray River Trails you’ve definitely got everything right. As a resident of South Australia I've always enjoyed walking holidays interstate or overseas. What an amazing experience we have right here in our own backyard. The Southern Ocean Walk did not disappoint. Sections of the walk were challenging but it was worth the challenge to enjoy the beautiful scenery and stunning views. With Barry as our guide, Jane handling the drinks (all local wines) and logistics at the homestead and TJ providing the most delicious meals with lots of local produce. We had a great 4 night cruise on the Murray Princess last week. We especially liked the time we spent at the Sunnydale property checking out the sheep shearing display and going for a spotlighting tour around the property that night. Today we had a magnificent flight with ‘Arid Air’ departing from Port Augusta, flying over Lake Eyre, taking in the stunning colours and landscapes. Our pilot, Zac was extremely competent and displayed an extensive knowledge of the sights in a most friendly manner. He gave us quite an education about the mining areas of Olympic Dam and Roxburgh Downs and put thought into giving us the best view of all the sights. We had a fuel stop at William Creek and a great camel burger for lunch at the iconic Maree Hotel, meeting our welcoming hosts Maria and Phil. Our flight was booked with Maria who went out of her way to organise our flight on the date we requested. An aerial view is definitely the best way to take in the vast landscapes of the area. We were so impressed by the entire experience and will definitely recommend Arid Air to our friends! Had a great flight today over Lake Eyre and Coongie Lakes. Maree from Arid Air was helpful and friendly from my initial enquiry through to the end of our experience. Matt our pilot was confident and knowledgeable, a great guy. This is the only way to see the outback, from the air, and so much more than all about 'if there is water in Lake Eyre. ' The Coongie Lakes were a great surprise to see and the landscape ever changing during the flight. Arid Air Birdsville made today memorable, thank you.See more..
