St Andrew's Uniting Church is currently undergoing restoration work to its exterior but is still very impressive. It can be seen as part of taking a walk along the River Angus. We were lucky to run into a committee member setting up the church the day before for a Kirk & Town Theatrical-Historical Tour and Heritage Display as part of South Australia's History Festival in May. He invited us in to view the interior and gave a very informative and engaging talk about the church's history. Obviously that was just lucky for us but his details, passion and friendliness made it very memorable and I think the weekend tour and display would have shown this too. It is a beautiful church, even if you only see the outside. See more..

When leaving Streaky Bay, I was delighted to find the front door of this church open, so went inside. The church has an interesting exterior: it was built in 1912, and there are architectural similarities to the local Anglican Church which was built in the same year. I found the interior warm and welcoming, with lovely stained glass windows behind the altar. St Canute was a Danish saint, and there is an icon of him in the South transept which was apparently given to the church by the Danish Archbishop at the time of the church’s centenary. See more..
