Stunning nature. Easy to spend the day going from spot to spot and enjoying a picnic surrounded by some truly spectacular scenery. There’s a beach before entering the gates. A key is required to enter this area (see below) Parts are challenging to walk so not suitable for wheelchairs, walkers or unfit people eg. Hanging onto a chain and then go down a ladder etc. There are also spots where caution required due to freak waves. $40/car a bit pricey but then it is private property. There’s also an additional $20 deposit required for the key that is collected at the Pt L Visitors Centre. Note: There are no public toilets or any other facilities. See more..

Spectacular views, including the new Whyalla Jetty. Easy drive up & lots of photo opportunities. Don’t miss walking on the new circular Jetty, it is amazing. At the entry to the Jetty, artist Karen of Squashed Cocky is completing the final stages of giant cuttlefish mosaic tiles seating - today she was doing the final grouting. Very artistic, so clever & very representative of Whyalla’s giant cuttlefish who can be seen here in the winter. The foreshore is nicely laid out & welcoming. A very progressive Council & residents - well done Whyalla. See more..
  3. 4.5 Winter Hill Lookout (116 reviews)
    - Memorable moment

    Winter Hill Lookout image
The turnoff to this lookout is well signposted, and turns right off the highway several kilometres on the way to Coffin Bay. The road is sealed with an easy gradient. I had some hesitation about visiting here: obviously a very distant view! But it was great: Boston Island, Port Lincoln township, across to the Conservation Park and Mount Stamford, and west towards the coast. My most memorable moment was coming over the final rise to the carpark: a long low wall, and the panoramic view spread out before us. See more..

You see some of the best features of Mannum from the lookout. It's high up and close to town with plenty of parking space. You get some terrific views of the town, the river and its islands, banks, old red gums, some partly submerged, and the ferries going back and forth. We went during the day but hopefully next time we’ll see the sunset. See more..

Fantastic views on this drive, glad I did it. Takes you from Yanky up the hills towards Parawa for views, and then Deep Creek and Jervis, where you view KI, and then back along the west coast with those views. Never realised there was so much to see. Make sure you take the offload detour around Deep Creek, it is worth it for the extra views. See more..

Took the World's End Circuit tour from Burra which ran initially west across farming land, vines and generally what looked like good cropping lands. And then headed in to Eudunda and further east from there, and it became desolate, and really worthy of its name "World's End" ! A good tour nonetheless. See more..
