Beautiful views all the way on this scenic trail. Easily done on the electric bike hired. We had morning tea at the Velvet & Willow Cafe at Auburn and an epicurean lunch at the Watervale Hotel on route back to Clare which we would highly recommend. See more..
  2. 4.5 Brachina Gorge Geological Trail (122 reviews)
    - A bit of a challenge right now!

    Brachina Gorge Geological Trail image
We were keen to see this feature, and it was truly amazing. There has been flooding, and this is apparent in the road surface (though it had been cleared, some repairs are still needed) - it is definitely only for 4WD. Makes you really appreciate the land, the passage of time, and our relative insignificance in terms of nature! Would be impressive when the water is running! See more..

  4. 4.5 Bunyeroo Gorge (59 reviews)
    - Very scenic drive and hike
Spent 2-3 hours Hiking Trails • Geologic Formations
    Bunyeroo Gorge image
We drove from Rawnsley Park Station to the Bunyeroo Valley Gorge and then through the Branchina Gorge which is a very scenic part of the Flinders Ranges and well worth doing. We did the Bunyeroo Gorge hike which is an 8km return hike which winds along the creek many times. It was a 2 1/2 hour hike with a lunch break. The track was well signed posted with geological information provided also. There are many creek crossings so it is a dry weather hike. We hired a 4WD for the trip and returned via the Moralana Scenic Road. I would strongly recommend this very scenic loop is for 4WD's only. We hired a 4WD from Chris's Mechanical in Hawker who was very accommodating and provided a great vehicle. See more..

We enjoyed a very pleasant walk along the River Angus with reserves and gardens that were green and lush on the 30th of April. There are a number of interesting bridges to cross and it was easy to also fit in seeing St Andrews Church and visit the antique shops on High Street along the way. See more..

Black Cockatoo Bush Camp Hiking Trails image
Liz is very friendly. She gave us shortbread biscuits that she cooked to celebrate xmas coming & also loaned us a yabby net & gave us the bone bait. We caught 6!! Left net in overnight in dam, so had a delish breakfast. The Tom Yelland bush walk took us 85 mins with our dog, saw lots of birdlife & a roo, butterflies, dragonflies & a goanna! Plenty of room to camp anywhere, we used one of the sheds, as well. Grass seeds a bugbear for our dog, had to check they weren't stuck in his skin. When warm, lots of mossies, flies & bugs, so mossie coils & spray used. Showers a bit dilapidated, cobwebs everywhere, but at least water got hot!!! Having a dump point was a plus!! See more..

  9. 4.5 Mount Remarkable Summit Hike (20 reviews)
    - Pick the milder weather and go for it
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
    Mount Remarkable Summit Hike image
Mount Remarkable really is quite a special mountain to interact with and climb upon. Its certainly not an Everest and that probably helps people of all ages, to do as much or as little as you like. I have been visiting Melrose since I was a child and I love climbing it as much today, as I did back when my dad, was with me and supervising my safety. Best done on a mild weather day. Take your time; take plenty of self-hydration and electrolytes; don't forget your camera or go-pro and enjoy a breathtaking experience with great views and considerable physical challenges in parts. See you at the top. See more..

  11. 3.5 Yourambulla Caves Historic Reserve (17 reviews)
    - This site is on private property, and the owner has stopped access to the site because of public liability.

    Yourambulla Caves Historic Reserve image
We met with the owner of the property, and because of lack of government support, he has had to close access to the property because of public liability. It is a real shame as it it a real treasure. Land owners I this area need more government support to keep these sites available for public access. I feel for the owner, and it is a shame for the public! See more..

2km out of Crystal Brook Free Camping, toilets, BBQ,s. Playing oval and nature walks available. Brilliant maintained area for travellers. Caravaners if not greedy and considered other travellers could fit 20 plus I think. Is a donation point to assist in maintenance etc, if you don't drop at least $10 for an overnight stay you shouldn't have stayed. Brilliant and well done to all volunteers. See more..

Being a beginner, I was instructed well. I rode a retired race horse Rueben. Full sleeves and pants are recommended as you will pass many bushes. Also, consider taking fly mask; thousands of them around. Give your self some extra time, we were late by 1.15 hours. Over all a very good experience. See more..

    Oyster Walk image
We walked from the campground out the back of town to join the start of the trail which winds its way along the foreshore only metres from the water. It’s nice being off the road even though there’s little traffic. Birds fly back & forth across the path and there are great views across the bay. There’s plenty of beach access points for a swim or a paddle and benches to rest and take in the view. Do as much or as little of the path as you like. See more..

  22. 5.0 Bonney Reserve Nature Trail (3 reviews)
    - An easy and picturesque walk with views
    Hiking Trails
Access to this walk is via a vehicular gate that you just open and shut behind you. We are not really into flora but it’s a lovely walk that shows the beauty and uniqueness of the Coorong. We walked at a good pace and arrived at the elevated wooden viewpoint with 360 degree views after 15mins. Just over another 15mins later we arrived at the lake. The track is clear to the viewpoint, immediately beyond there when the track splits, the left one is the true nature trail path (but the right vehicle track basically ends up in the same place). See more..

This was an unexpected delight. Easy to locate and park at in Bowman Ave, this hike is expertly laid out with great thought. Terrific signposting and seating. Lush flora and occasional fauna. Just a brilliant walk. We finished one walk in 45 minutes only to bounce into WALK 2. Another half an hour then cross the road to WALK 3! And so on. Take plenty of water and allow several hours. Its an easy, level hike in the most wondrous setting. Well maintained. A true secret location to put on the map. DO IT! See more..
  25. 5.0 Mount Maria Walking Trail (1 review)
    - great views with plenty of wild life
    Spent 1-2 hours Hiking Trails
An easy walk providing reat views of the Southern Flinders. The walk is about 5 -6 km deending on the starting point. The start of the track is very easy to find on the main road through Wilmington. The track has good definition, it is sign posted and is a gentle gradient. It's a good option for those who may find some of the other wals in the Southern Flinders a bit long or steep. Lots of kangaroos to keep yu company along the way. Could stop into the pub for a meal or drink afterwards See more..

  28. 3.0 Limestone Cliffs Walk (1 review)
    - Not a bad little walk, even if cut short
    Hiking Trails
    Limestone Cliffs Walk image
Not a bad little walk if you're in the area (e.g. to visit the caves) but probably not worth the trip otherwise. It's a shame that the signage is so poor - despite being signposted as a "loop" walk, upon arrival at the cliffs there was a makeshift sign telling us to turn around and go back. It would have been nice to know that half the trail was closed before we started. The associated picnic area 1.8km down the track was also closed - again, it would have been nice to know that before went there. I really wish national parks would put closure notices on the main signs at the start of trails. See more..
