Beautiful beaches & jetty with lots of eating options nearby. Public toilets in good location. Lots of fishing. Robe Obelisk is a Cool monument with breathtaking views surrounding this interesting historical rocket launcher. I found the information fascinating and love where it has been placed. We walked all around the walking trails nearby and soaked in the scenery. Definitely well worth going to. Plenty of car parking.See more..
What a cool part of Kangaroo Island The drive here was scenic and once we arrived we absorbed every part of this beautiful beach. We ate at the Rock Pool Cafe, climbed up over the hill and watched as a group of people raced into the water to swim with dolphins We walked through the rocks and took some great photos. Only a handful of homes here. It would be such a peaceful and scenic place to live.See more..

4.5Horseshoe Bay(117 reviews) - A Beach with a heart and soul Beaches
Horseshoe Bay is a protected swimming beach which is very popular with families during the summer holidays. You can fish from the Jetty, watch the kids play in the playground or go for a swim in this sheltered bay. Why not follow the rugged cliff around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches. Horseshoe Bay has been a favoured destination for visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for a long time come and experience this very popular destination. During the months from June - October each year the cliffs surrounding Horseshoe Bay provide a great vantage point for spotting Southern Wright Whales as the protected coastal waters become a whale nursery. Or you may spot Seals and Dolphins in the protected bay while enjoying a picnic or riding along the Encounter Bikeway that passes through Horseshoe Bay. The historic township of Port Elliot is situated on the coastline between the towns of Victor Harbor and Middleton. While your in Port Elliot take the time to explore The Strand area with its many historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and shops.See more..
4.5Lincoln National Park(97 reviews) - Mixed feelings National Parks • Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
This park is some 25 km south of Port Lincoln, and situated on a peninsular. There is a small entry fee to be paid at the Visitors Centre in Port Lincoln. I have given this park four stars, and perhaps that needs some explaining. We drove in to Stamford Hill which I climbed, and then had lunch at Surfleet Cove. A park like this is a wonderful asset for conservation purposes, and probably for camping, hiking and fishing. The amenities are excellent and 5* : sealed roads, signage, toilets, and everything well maintained. I enjoyed investigating the coastline at Horse Rock (but where was the horse?), and the hike up Stamford Hill led to good but distant views. But I couldn’t get excited about the endless sameness of the low growing trees and scrub. I felt rather sorry for Matthew Flinders and his crew, landing here and desperately searching for water. So, only 3* from us for enjoyment.See more..
4.5Coffin Bay National Park(95 reviews) - Experience to be remembered National Parks • Beaches • Geologic Formations
My best friend decided it was time to get my 4WD dirty. Coffin Bay National Park seemed the obvious choice, little did I know what was in store. After an easy drive to Yangi Bay the fun started. Lots of sand, plenty of mud holes and a lot of swearing before getting to Point Sir Isaac. I suggest if it is your first time perhaps team up with someone as there are plenty of 4WD enthusiasts along the way. Please be aware of the tide times if doing this trip. Great fun with plenty of Adrenalin. The cost of the Park was $11.00 which can be done online.See more..
4.5Second Valley Beach(66 reviews) - A touch of paradise Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
This beach is one of South Australia’s hidden gems We love coming here and spending the day. There is so much to see and explore. The views are absolutely stunning. The caravan park is located right next to this beautiful beach. There is a deli with a good variety of foods and products however it’s very expensive. Toilets located at the car parking bay. No matter how cool the weather may be, there is often swimmers or divers in the water. Seems to be a hot spot for divers.See more..
Really lovely beach. Large free car park by the surf life saving club with usual doggie bags etc. Whether you turn right or left you have a massive expanse of beach to explore with great surf on offer too. Be aware that the eastern end of the beach is accessible to vehicles and horses also run here from time to time. Finally make sure you grab a coffee or a bite to eat from the awesome Kuti Shack before you leave!See more..

4.0Rapid Bay Beach(39 reviews) - Always a pleasure chance to reconnect with your soul Beaches
Love Rapid Bay, it’s basic toilets only and a BBQ, there’s nothing to do other than stroll Along the beach, walk the hill, walk along the jetty. But if it’s somewhere quiet and yet busy at the same time then this is for you. Basic camping at its best, big skies and no traffic, just the squeal of other campers delighting in the lack of civilization. We love to reconnect as a family and our souls and this place is exactly where you can. The beach is beautiful but it is fine stone sand so not your average white sand beach, great if you’ve got surf shoes. The water is crystal clear, the cave at the end is fascinating to explore. If you want a cheap camp with a view go here.See more..

A short drive from VH this magnificent stretch of beach is wild and windy, perfect for walking and fishing. The sand is clean and it is very photogenic. The day I was there I would suspect there are safer places to swim. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.See more..

4.5Vivonne Bay Beach(7 reviews) - Dirt road to beach Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
Another beautiful beach on Kangaroo Island Fun to explore on the rocks. If it was hot I would have dipped into the rock pool. Beautiful scenery! Had to take it very easy driving out to the beach on dirt road but it was worth it.See more..
Once we found the spot, as it was not sign posted - so when you see all the caravans and tents take a right and you will get to Cactus Beach. Also no signage when you arrive! We asked a local. Cactus beach is perfectly named as the rocky cliffs are like cactus. I know as when I sat on the rocks it was prickly. You can watch the surfers as they shoot the waves or look in the rock pools. So good! There is camping nearby with flushing toilets, rubbish bins, bore water showers and firewood. Remember, around this area, all vegetation and wildlife is protected.See more..
Booked a spot in the National Park for 2 nights at 3 mile bend. Great spot right near Lake George. So quiet with just a short drive to Beachport if you need anything. Surprised at the amount of black swans on the lake. Plenty of wildlife around. See more..

Enjoying this white sand shallow beach from Point Turton to Hardwick Bay was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. We parked on the car park at Corney Point Road but others, with 4WDs, parked on the beach and thus were able to put up gazebos and set out all the comforts of home. It was on a public holiday so quite a few people were out enjoying the beach but it is so wide that everyone was quite separated. Perfect for kids and for an enjoyable time with family and friends.See more..

3.5Nora Creina Beach(4 reviews) - Secret little spot worth a visit Beaches
We have been here before and we know when you reach the gate that says "Private" you can go through ( remember to shut the gate). You follow the track and it goes onto the beach. There is another walking track just before the gate that also takes you to a different part of the beach. The beaches are fantastic and have jagged limestone outcrops flanking them. The beach before the gate has a large sweep of sand that goes for some distance and is great for strolling along. One warning. March flies abound and if you stop ouch! Repellent, the cream type seems to deter them.See more..
4.5Pondalowie Bay Surf(3 reviews) - Great views, different from the other swimming areas Beaches
We loved the volcanic rock and salt crystals forming everywhere. Plenty of collapsed rock around the cliff edges, so be wary. The area out to the lighthouse was inaccessible due to the tide. See more..
5.0Butlers Beach(2 reviews) - Great Beach Beaches Butler Beach is located south of St Augustine Beach on Rt A1A. It is usually not crowded, there's plenty of parking, and the beach is huge. We spent most of the mornings there during our vacation, and while I never thought I would like a beach as well as St Augustine Beach, I loved this one because it was not crowded and there was more wildlife; tortoises, pelicans, small sea birds, and flowers. Just love this beach and will return to it from now on!See more..
Visited on Monday 2nd March. The last section of road to Browns Beach is gravel and easily done with 2wd vehicle. Well worth the drive to see the beach, there is a camping ground close by as well. See more..
4.0Coobowie Playground(1 review) - BBQ, Play Equipment and Easy Access to the Sandy Beach Beaches • Playgrounds
Coobowie is a small coastal town on the eastern side of South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula just north of Edithburgh. After a two and half hour drive from Adelaide, the Coobowie Playground offers an opportunity for the kiddies, and adults, to stretch their legs. The playground is between the main street and the ocean with a large car park next door and also street parking. There is a wide variety of playground equipment, a BBQ area and toilet facilities. Easy access to the sandy beach behind is available through childproof locked gates. The large sandstone rock at the front of the playground carries a plaque commemorating those from the area who served in war forces. Return? Yes as an opportunity to relax and stretch after long drives.See more..

Local birdlife put on a show as well. Fabulous See more..
