What a view, this is a dormant volcano and it looks spectacular! The walk from the carpark to the top consists of 1,038 limestone steps and is shaped like a strange ladder, very peculiar to walk on. This is quite a strenuous climb and although not a long walk it is quite hard and requires a moderate amount of fitness. Once at the top you can walk a trail that circles the entire rim with stunning views There is also another trail heading down into the Centre but this was closed when we were there for maintenance. “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list. We loved our two night visit. We purchased a package that included Astronomy evening, 4WD Ridge Top Tour, two nights accomodation and both breakfasts and two course dinners. The whole experience was so friendly and breathtaking we have to recommend it. The accomodation is basic but adequate, but don’t go there if you want city comforts: it’s a comfortable place to sleep and the rest of the time there is so much to do around the property your focus is elsewhere. Package is the way to go for extra value. Staff are hardworking and super helpful, setting is unique, food was fantastic as far as we were concerned. The beef fillet was perfection on a plate. We took optional 75min flight with owner Doug to Frome Salt Lake and over Arkaroola and it was the highlight. He is an all-rounder both practically and knowledge. The Ridgetop tour was the other highlight. Remember it’s remote and staff wear many hats to cover everything, it’s part of the appeal. See more..

    - Highly recommend for sunrise

A truly amazing experience! We drove out here on the dirt road before sunrise. We then climbed through the fog to the top of Mt Wudinna. Not a long climb but steep enough to get your cardio going first thing in the morning. It was so cool at the top as we stood watching the fog pass through just before the sunrise There are arrow markers to guide which way to climb up and down. The parts that were not covered in moss were very slippery as it had rained all night. Will definitely be going back whenever we pass through that region. Toilets facilities are located near the parking area. Table & benches provided if wanting to picnic. Was a nice bonus to see a yellow foot rock wallaby. See more..

    - Stunning views

The signage suggested it wouldn't be too bad, so we took off on the Summit Hike to the top of Mt Brown. After curving our way through a gully, the climb started. Stopped a few times for photos before reaching the Summit, with the views being absolutely stunning. The lookout tower on the top is well placed to give a view over the tree tops, while the history signs give a good understanding as to the importance of this hill. Took the loop trail back to the car, which was slightly longer, but less steep and gave a different set of views. No facilities are available enroute, and the trip to the top and return was about 5 hours, but well worth it. See more..
