4.5Taylor Shellfish Farms(96 reviews) - Super FRESH oysters! Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
We really enjoyed Taylor Shellfish. So much so, we went back twice. We came on Monday, 8/9 and Friday, 8/13. The oysters, although not exactly cheap, were really fresh. Both times we went around lunchtime. The items they have from the kitchen sell out so plan accordingly. They open at noon for lunch so if you come earlier than that, expect to stand around until they open. They have outdoor seating, some in the shade and some in the sun. The first time we went, we ordered oysters ($2.50 - $3 each) and caesar salad ($13). The 2nd time we ordered oysters, ceviche ($12), geoduck ($12) and the charcuterie board ($16 - the items here changes). The wine is super expensive at $13 a glass. It's a better value if you order the bottle for $35 if you are going to drink 2+ glasses. Overall, it's a great experience. You get to sit next to the ocean and enjoy some great oysters. Dogs are allowed. We saw lots of people bring their pups.See more..
4.5Jack's Country Store(94 reviews) - Kerosene lamps Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
My wife collects antique lamps. Everything from kerosene to Hurricane lamps. Due to extreme seismic activity ( the wife says clumsy husband. ). We have made several trips for chimneys. We have been bringing our old friends from Alaska to their store, just to remind them of the old Samson's Hardware in Fairbanks. They have a great inventory and everyone that we have dealt with at the counters have been very knowledgeable. Go visit, and enjoy .See more..

4.5Skagit's Own Fish Market(34 reviews) - Hello? Where do I begin? 10 Star isn't enough! Saturday: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
Stopped at Skagit's Fish Market on our way from Burlington to Annacortes. I love the local shops run by local folks that serve the area with the best food ever! We needed to by some Halibut for our Halibut Olympia Recipe and on top of that we were hungry. So we ended up buying our Halibut, but the menu looked pretty darn good. We ordered the Lobster Roll which I don't think as local but just as good if not better than if I was in Maine. The Clam Chowder was nothing out of the ordinary, sorry. But they did have so many other goodies you can't get anywhere else, so this place is a 'GO TO" in my travel book. I will be back for other goodies on their menu but I don't think I can get past the Lobster Rolls, Haha!See more..

This place was a favorite stop for my family, yet it sadly CLOSED its doors in 2015. We are not clear on why it closed. Several great area businesses closed after the Chelan Complex Wildfires of 2015, due to lack of August business that summer with the heavy smoke. Yet I feel it was other challenges that encouraged this fine business to shut down. We miss it. ;(See more..
During the Christmas season, the Polar Express will bring out the child in everyone. Starts with organized boarding process, and then the train chugs slowly south through the forests. Young staff "waiters" bring hot chocolate and cookies, sing songs, there are visits from the conductor, a "hobo", and the engineer. The train is decorated with garlands, Christmas lights, and wrapped packages. At the end of the line, about 30+ minutes along the track, the North Pole is a brightly lit area with Santa waving to the children. Santa boards the train and works his way through the cars handing out sleigh bells, just like the movie. The train backs slowly back to the start. Whole things takes about hour and a half or so. Lots of fun. Don't expect a Broadway production, this is fun for the kids so enjoy it. Gift shop available too.See more..
5.0Christmas Shop(12 reviews) - A lovely shop Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
This place is not the Christmas shop...that is next door, but you must go in! There is a lot to look at. So, here is my strategy: first lap around the shop just to look and see what there is to see. Second time around is to find the things I missed the first time, and there was plenty and the third lap through the shop was with a basket. I found a beautiful hand crafted metal sea turtle that is hanging proudly on my wall and a number of great gift items. The proprietor was friendly and helpful and the whole shop was simply a lovely place to come and find a treasure or two.See more..
If you don't already love chocolate, this shop will change your mind. I had the milk chocolate covered caramels (they also have dark chocolate, with or without salt). Since I bought two, I had planned to give one to my husband when I got home, but his caramel never made it. Luckily I didn't buy a pound because it would all have been gone. The candy just melts in your mouth with a rich chocolate and buttery taste. So I saved the two pieces of fudge (each the size of a small cupcake) for dinner. Mine didn't make it that far. It was every bit as good as the caramel piece. The shop also has a large variety of teas and antiques. I didn't buy either, but it was fun to look. This is a small shop in a small town, but the chocolate is big on flavor and freshness. Worth the drive!See more..
