I have always wanted to ride horseback on the beach, now I can say I have. Yes, it was a very controlled ride. In previous reviews I noticed some people griping about not "being matched with their riding ability". I grew up on a ranch and have a pretty exceptional ability--I also understand just how risky riding horses can be and how easily someone can get hurt-and they only have so many horses. I understand they can't really have "high spirited" horses and take the chance someone wouldn't be able to ride and get hurt. I was very pleased with my horse and I was riding with my granddaughter (2.5yo) it was a big old draft horse. He behaved very well and the ride was quite enjoyable. Would I loved to have been able to take off at a gallop through the water? Sure, but you just can't when you're in a group situation like this. The "wranglers" were quite nice and helpful to those in the group who had zero experience. I would definitely visit and ride with them again. See more..

Whether you have years of horse experience or first time on a horse, Lang's Horse and Pony Farm is a great place to visit. They have wonderful knowledgeable workers that make your experience a memory maker. Our children have enjoyed their camps and lessons years after years. This last summer we took a family mountain trail ride. All 5 of us enjoyed great horses, a beautiful sunset and ended with a campfire with s'mores. I would highly recommend Lang's Horse and Pony farm for any horse activity you might have.See more..

I called Skipper's Horse Rental well in advance of our trip to the coast with the express purpose of riding on the beach. I signed our party of four experienced riders up for the 2 hour ride for a Saturday. I called 2 weeks before our scheduled trip to change it to Sunday as I heard the weather was going to be bad on the original day. I was told that was no problem and just make sure we were there a half hour before the ride was to start. We arrived 45 minutes early as we were so excited. No one showed up, so I finally called the number. Skipper told me, "Yeah the storm made quite a mess so I'm not gonna show up today." When I questioned him further about why he couldn't have even given me a call to let me know, his response was, "Well hell, I didn't know it was gonna make such a mess". Not once did he even apologize for our inconvenience of traveling over 500 miles to ride with his outfit. When I told him I was going to leave a review to the effect that it was a poor way to do business, he told me that he didn't care and he was done talking to me. He hung up on me. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! Very unprofessional and rude. The corrals were very shabby as well, so I doubt they take much pride in their horses either. There was another group of 6 that were in the same situation that Skip left us in. I went across the street to Backcountry Outfitters and they were awesome!!!! We truly enjoyed riding the Norwegian Fjord ponies for our trail ride with Cascade corral. We have done trail rides in the past at other vacation destinations and these horses were some of the nicest, sure footed, well-behaved trail horses. The scenery is gorgeous and some parts of the trail are a bit steep and rocky but these horses are so solid and sure that there were no worries. We even saw a mother bear and 2 cubs in the distance at one point! Great ride!See more..

A group of us participated in the wine, women, polo weekend. 30 mins before check in we received a group text that the weekend "may" have to be cancelled. Most everyone was already in route coming from out of town. To make a long story short we were put up in a horrific motel grouped together with people we didn't know. The gourmet food and wine was laughable. We spent most the time in the barn waiting for the other group of people to vacate the house that we had rented for the weekend. Finally on day 2 around 8pm we got the go ahead to use the house and finally have a prego spaghetti dinner provided by the host. Overall the experience was not what any of us had expected and I wouldn't return. The highlight was the polo lessons that were given by the husband and he did a great job. If your looking for a higher quality relaxing weekend with really gourmet food and wine this would NOT be the place to go.See more..

This lake is a reservoir that supplies the city of Seattle with drinking water, so it is fenced to prevent contamination. The trail varies from a gravel road, to a single track trail, but is well maintained and it travels outside the perimeter fence. You cannot see the lake from anywhere along the trail as it travels through woods, along roads and behind residential developments. The morning I took my bike ride was sunny (although the trail is mostly in the shade due to dense forest) and there were not many people out. The trail has an elevation gain of over 800 feet according to my iPhone and it took just under an hour to complete the ride -- starting at my house which is about half a mile from the trailhead.See more..
