Monday: Rail Tours
We did the Polar Express ride and it was great. Our kids, 5 and 3 years old, love the movie. I thought the experience was very professionally done and it was sweet, whimsical, and fun. The cast of characters were great. The interior of the train is decorated nicely. We loved the mementos we received. It takes a while to get into and out of the parking lot. See more..

Was a quiet afternoon, ended up with a personal tour by one of the volunteers. Very well versed in the history, and all the projects they were working on. He opened up several of the rooms and cars to show me some of the out of sight items. They have done an excellent job of collecting lots of items for their collection, and much of it has been very well restored and is presented well. Lots of other items that will be fantastic once they finish it. Obviously a lot of great volunteers dedicated to the cause. See more..

-Beautiful Fall Trip
Rail Tours
Although we did not have the steam engine the trip was worth the drive.We drove from Olympia about 2 hours,but the drive was beautiful along the river.I want to come back just to se the town and maybe tour the grist mill that was on the way.The train ride was beautiful,with a slow ride through the forest and over a bridge,and best of all a tunnel,my granddaughter was thrilled.There weren't too many people so we moved from the inside car to the outside one.We were in luck the rain held off until we were headed home.There is a stop on the trip back for a short hike to Yacolt Falls.Our boarding passes also included a wine tasting at the local winery.Check out their web site for special train rides.
