This is a great swimming center with lots of different options besides the main lap pool. There is a 17' deep diving pool next to the lap pool. There is also a shallow pool for younger kids with a pirate themed area (although it's not a playground area). A lot of clubs practice here so plan accordingly. See more..

    The Source Climbing Center image
This place is owned and operated by a great group of people. Great for the entire family, or even solo; you can always get a belay from another friendly member too. Everyone is great, unlike other "Stuffy" gyms that can intimidate the first-timer, this place is perfect for someone learning to climb, or the 5.10 lead climber looking to improve their skills. Classes, one-on-ones, fitness training...Great place for everyone to burn some energy. If you are visiting Vancouver and staying downtown; check this place out, but don't forget to play some tug with the mascot! See more..

My daughter takes classes at another rink but she practices at this rink. Wednesdays is cheap skate night. Only 5 bucks! During the summer we arrived at 9:50. Daughter skated for one to two hours. Few people if you go early. 7 dollars for ice time. I think skate rental is 3 or 4 dollars. See more..

We had plans for a family winter walk but the freezing rain deterred us. So we made a last minute plan to go skating. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. We went mid day Friday over Christmas holiday. Lots of families with kids of all ages bit not too crowded. Classic skate rink atmosphere. We headed to the Dutch bakery afterwards for an extra treat. 11. 2.5 Pioneer Park Pool (3 reviews)
    - Best City Pool Ever
    Sports Complexes
If you are on a road trip in the summer and you happen to be driving through Connell (or nearby), then stop here to beat the heat. It is a well run pool, clean, and set in a nice and shady park for picnics. But the best part is the water slides. It has 1 slide for toddlers, one slide for small kids, and then 2 huge slides for big kids and adults alike. The red slide is one of the coolest and fastest slides I've been on. The yellow one is fast but watch out for wedgies! The price is right, kids under 4 are free, and adults are $3 each. There are some picnic tables with umbrellas right next to the pool. Amazing that such a small town has such a sweet pool. See more..

Took my kids this summer on a wacky Wednesday the theme was Christmas in July. My kids got a free prize and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was a little tough at first but they learned how to stay up on their roller skates. Good fun and a great way to spend time with your kids. See more..
  14. 4.0 Dr OR Nevitt Memorial Swimming Pool (1 review)
    - Fun public swimming pool
    Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes
Our family visited this public swimming pool on a hot Sunday afternoon. The above-ground pool was the perfect spot to cool off with no crowds. We had so much fun and couldn't believe that there were less than 15 people enjoying the water. The depth ranges from 3 feet to 6 feet and there is a tube slide (42" minimum height). There is also a wading pool for small children. The fee for recreational swim was $3/person. Lockers are free, but bring your own lock. Because this is an outdoor open-air facility, it is only open in summer. Public swim hours on the weekend we visited were 2-5pm. After swimming, we had fun playing at the adjacent public park with its incredible and unique jungle play structure. See more..
  15. 3.0 Starfire Stadium (1 review)
    - Home of the Seattle Seawolves Major League Rugby
    Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes
The stadium is one playing area in a large sports complex with primarily soccer fields. For the rugby match, parking cost $5. As you approach the stadium you see the concession area which consist mostly of food trucks and a few kiosks. The stadium has poor signage and the staff was only partially helpful. It took a conversation with a fan to find out where the almost invisible section signs are located. The stadium itself is much like a high school stadium with a poorly located scoreboard and an adequate public address system. Luckily, I could see the field better than I could the scoreboard. The "100" sections appeared to have individual seats while the "200" sections had backless aluminum bleacher seats. The pedestrian flow into and out of the stadium was poor as was the traffic flow after the game. See more..
  16. 2.0 BMX Park (1 review)
    - Dangerous, poorly planned, no parking
    Sports Complexes
We live close to the BMX park in Gig Harbor. Took my son to the park to try out his new bike. The park is designed in a dogleg direction with a number of similar "jumps" heading in a downhill direction. The first problem is the city reduced the size of the bike park to accommodate two sand pits for volleyball. This greatly decreased the area where younger kids could ride their bikes in a flat, easier area. The second problem is the people using the volleyball courts take all of the limited parking, requiring kids to weave their bikes through cars parked at weird angles. While we were there a male volleyball player yelled at every kid trying to maneuver their bikes to the track next to the cars. I'm assuming he didn't yell at my son because I was with him. The jumps are extremely steep and difficult to use unless you have a certain level of skill. There will be a number of "users" saying that unless you have skill you shouldn't be using it, but the city should be making the park usable by all levels of BMX'ers, and not just the advanced kids. Gig harbor should either fix it or bulldoze it. See more..
