  1. 4.5 Seattle Public Library (2.224 reviews)
    - Impressive Library

If you want to experience the entire library then visit on the weekdays. That will give further access to the book stacks on floors 6-9. The single escalator (in fluorescent yellow) would have been an interesting experience (see photo). On floor five (the mixing chamber) walk over to the overlook and take in the view down to the main floor and the surrounding glass and steel. For an intense color experience go to the 4th floor (meeting rooms) which was painted floor to ceiling in 13 shades of red. See more..
  2. 4.5 Vancouver Community Library (37 reviews)
    - New and well equipped

    Vancouver Community Library image
This is a great new library that has 5 stories filled with books and equipment. There are kid zones, adult zones, quiet zones. Has a beautiful outdoor balcony area with good views of Portland and Vancouver waterfront. Nice areas to sit and look at the books, plug in your computers, research, etc. Because it is so new it has all the conveniences you love in a well stocked public space. They make it east to check out books, videos, music, magazines, etc. There is even a small coffee place on the bottom floor and you can order a great coffee and take it with you. Love spending time here to just relax. See more..

    Kirkland Library image
Books, ebooks, audio books, magazines, DVDs, internet access, study rooms, conference rooms and more. There is plenty of parking, comfy seating and friendly staff to answer questions. The library is clean, well lit and generally quiet. Sadly, there are lots of empty bookshelves on the second floor. A sign of the e-times, I guess. I work at home and when my internet is down I have used it many times as my "satellite office." It is a MUCH better option than any noisy coffee shop. See more..

    Bellevue Public Library image
Aside from offering the traditional full-services expected of a great library, this location brings the community together with special events. Today, we attended a free concert to preview the upcoming Wintergrass bluegrass music festival. The music was Buck Owens and the audience couldn't have been more diverse. A really fun way to spend a gray afternoon. See more..
