  2. 4.5 Green Bluff (339 reviews)
    - everyone should expierence Hansen's Orchard
    Farms
    Green Bluff image
Four years ago I ventured to Greenbluff for the first time in my then 70 years. Previously my parents would go to Green Bluff & bring me the fruit to make their jams and pies. In 2016 I went up myself. I happened to turn in to the first OPEN sign and was greeted by Mrs Karen Hansen. It was cherry time and I picked my 1st box full and began another box. No need to climb a ladder since the cherry branches were full and hanging low. I was even brought a chair -- divine decadence to sit, pick & sample. No matter what fruit is in season, I go to Hanson's. Wonderful fruit, great prices and fantastic owners. I will go to the orchard every chance I get during picking season. The storeshop has fruit, jams (Derrick Hansen's huckleberry is divine), honey, and craft or painted items from local artisans. ps - the 'date of travel' is for my last visit. See more..

    - Best Pie I’ve Ever Eaten. But Go Early before They’re Gone.
    Thursday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Farms
    Johnson's Orchards image
Stopped there on way from Seattle to Salt Lake City to buy local cherries to take to my daughter. They were fantastic. And so we’re the apricots and early peaches. But I discovered they also sold fresh baked pies. Bought a cherry pie and it was the best. My mother used to make great pies, but this exceeded hers! Also took a few pictures of cherries on trees. Didn’t know there were so many on a tree. We decided to stop on way back. But, there were no cherries because that bizarre heatwave had killed them. (Thanks a lot, global climate change. That 110 degrees in Seattle also killed a few of my plants and extensively damaged a few others.) Also, we were late in the day and there was only one pie left. See more..

My girlfriend lives in the area and I was on a hunt for berries since it was the end of the season. Well, lo and behold they had the most gorgeous blackberries I had ever seen, so SCORE! They not only had berries, they were getting ready for fall and what a presentation! Pumpkin Patch, Gourds, Squash and fresh beautiful produce. They also have a cute gift shop and freshly baked pies. So, of course I had to take home a blackberry pie which was beyond delicious! The kitties roaming the area and seeing the chicken coop were also a plus! Fox Hollow Farm image
This place is an amazing farm with many holiday activities! 4 generations enjoyed the animals, patch, decorations, pony and tractor rides, kids activities. However, my daughter and I went a few years ago and at that time the price was reasonable for admission and the place was well kept! Now it is quite expensive and I feel not as charming as it once was. Getting a bit run down and dirty in the play houses. Over crowded at times as well. See more..

This WAS a wonderful place to stop all summer long, but after 25+ years they have closed for good. The property was being leased and upon the original owners passing away, the lease was canceled, so as of fall 2016 this very fun stop is no more. So sad for Whidbey Island!!!! See more..
  24. 4.5 Craven Farm (36 reviews)
    - Casual Low Key Farm Visit
Thursday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Farms • Wedding Chapels
    Craven Farm image
This is a very traditional fall harvest type farm visit. We had paid a visit to another Snohomish farm festival and were left a little cold by the commercialism of the event. This farm is a little further off the beaten track but has a more casual feeling about it. There was no admission charge for our visit on a weekday, but several of the attractions (food booths) were not open either. Nice farm store with all the stuff you might expect to see. They have apple cider donuts too, but having already had two apiece we passed on these. There were pumpkins and apples for sale too. I think having to choose, I'd visit this farm first and skip the other. See more..
  25. 4.5 Chocolate Flower Farm (31 reviews)

    Chocolate Flower Farm image
The farm is just setting up when we visited so there were few flowers and the gardens were still off limits. But Marie, the owner, paused her duties to give us a personal tour and way more attention than we deserved. She was the delightful part of the visit. Well, she and the goats. We fed the goat ships and listened as she regaled us with the plans for the farm this summer and next. Lots of new projects including camping, snack barn, cut flowers and lots of other stuff. It's a pretty setting near town and totally worth the trip. We'll be back later this Spring when everything is in bloom, for sure. See more..

    - Weekday visit
    Farms
The Farm at Swan's Trail image
Weekdays work better: less crowding, less cost ($10 vs $15), no waiting for attractions. We did everything and packed a lot into our visit: farmyard animals, hayride, kids corn maze, tractor pull, duck races, apple picking, pumpkin picking, slide, climbing on haystacks, pedal bike, hay lifting with pulleys. Covid concerns were addressed (masks required and social distancing suggested) but even though some patrons didn’t listen, there was enough room to spread out and avoid them. Hint: start out your visit with a fresh apple cider donut & coffee-you will need the energy to keep up with the little ones! See more..

If someone were just stopping in for ice cream in the shop, they might miss all that goes on behind the scenes. Food crops are seasonal, small buildings are quaint, the massive greenhouses filled with herbs, ferns, perennials and annuals. Antique buildings, trucks and tractors too. I personally loved taking a stroll to see the goats, ducks, hens and rooster, llama, curly haired pigs, goose and more. And don’t miss Lucy, the resident dog greeter. I met Mr. Hunter, the son, and he was hands on helpful and informative. See more..

    Mountainview Blueberry Farm image
My husband and I attended their annual "Blooms and Berries" event where you can pick sunflowers by the bucket and blueberries by the pint. The staff were very welcoming, the signage for parking and where to head for picking was great, and they set up "photo opps" in the sunflower fields (garden windows, vintage bicycles, upcycled vintage tub, and more) - so darn cute and they were perfect pix for framing. They also had a wide variety of gorgeous sunflowers; I had no idea they came in so many autumnal colors! I mainly attended for the flowers, but this is definitely a fun family outing. There were activities included for children throughout as well as opportunities to purchase handmade goods. Despite the crowds, the traffic flow from parking to walking the grounds was very smooth and well-planned - we really appreciated that attention to detail. See more..

Goat cheese in the beautiful Skagit Valley. We milk a small herd of LaMancha goats & turn all of our milk into award winning cheeses. Stop by anytime from 9am-5pm. We are too small for a store, but have a well marked Honor Box for self service. Our cheese is also in several fine local restaurants & retail cheese shops. We are an Animal Welfare Approved farm. This blueberry farm is a nicely preserved natural area near busy business area and close to Walmart. The farm is a great place for blueberry picking and great trails place for fitness enthusiasts. We went there and did walking along the blueberry fields. Also, tasted fresh blueberries right out of plants. We could see people picking bluebirds and collecting them. I think now is the blueberry season i.e July. Good place to spend time amidst nature. 49. 5.0 Wilderbee Farm (8 reviews)
    - My favorite “biggest little farm” in Port Townsend!!!

Be sure to get off the beaten path. I love, love, love this Farm and these people. It’s family run and they work so hard making it an amazing experience. I took dear friends from Florida this weekend and they loved it—the soay sheep who love to be fed from the quarter machine, Bri the piranese dog, chickens, the lavender fields, the cutting flower fields, the trails, woodworking, honey, berries, gift shop and meadworks. They do it all! They are even host to a pottery class in conjunction with the Port Townsend School of the Arts. I love to visit this place and discover the special things to buy or see for the week. It’s a certified organic farm. There is never any pressure! Casey and Eric are so helpful and kind. It’s off the beaten path Hastings to Cook Avenue but so very worth the trip! Enjoy your visit! It is always very special. The newly Mead Works is beautiful open on the weekends. Check for times. I have very fond memories over four summers. See more..
