    - What a Gr8 Two Weeks ~ Didn't want to leave...Loved Vashon Island & Miko's Guest House!

Five stars are not enough to describe the exceptional state of relaxation and renewed state of mind courtesy of Miko‘s guest house and the host Karen. The scenery, sounds, and the overall vibe put you in an even better place within. The actual living quarters are cozy and comfortable, and one step outside and you can see the beautiful horse Gypsy from the backyard. I was even getting a friendly neigh by the end of my two week stay. Love the hot tub and the views too — made for a relaxing end of the day after daily hikes around the island and into the quaint downtown to check out the Restaurant and Live Music Scene. So much to see and do, and this is the ideal homebase to do it all, Joe V. See more..

Visited this facility twice in 3 years for an extended weekend for business retreat purposes. It is perfect for this type of get away business retreat event. It is also great for families or large groups wanting to do outdoor activities and learn about eco-friendly living, have long nature-type walks and have comfortable really excellently built log-cabin facilities with books and games supplied and nature all around you. There is internet if you need it but this is a perfect place to go off the grid either with colleagues or family. Food is very tasty and the staff are so pleasant. Take one or two of the tours as they are worth it. See more..

  5. 4.5 Puget Island (16 reviews)
    - Very pleasant

    Puget Island image
Puget Island is an island in the Columbia River, connected to the town of Cathlamet with a bridge. We got to the island by taking the car ferry from Westport Oregon. There is a brand new ferry, just placed into service in March 2015, and it holds more cars plus there is room for RVs! We landed on Puget Island and drove along Route 409. We didn't take time to wander around the island but what we saw was nice. There are lots of farms, fields, and open spaces. We passed by a few small businesses and a handsome church. This island seemed to be a very pleasant place on a sunny spring day :-) See more..

Fir Island Snow Goose Reserve image
I have been on a wild goose chase literally! I finally understand that old quip. I spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday and on a goose chase. It was through locals that I was actually able to find this reserve in n Fir Island Road. It appears I may have been a bit early in October, but I did find birds and it was thrilling. I searched Conway, Mt. Vernon, Sedro Woolley, and Edison. It was great to see country roads on a sunny crisp weekend. See more..
  7. 4.5 Cutts Island State Park (3 reviews)
    - Excellent destination
    State Parks • Islands
Also known as "Dead Mans Island", this is a great destination via boat or kayak. There are large mooring buoys off the island in deep water. Rafting for the weekend is a great way to visit the area. If you want to Kayak, a great shortcut is launch at Raft Island private launch. You must drive back off the island, there's a little public parking area at the end of the street, which you take to get to Raft Island. Parking in the lot is by Raft Island permit only. See more..
  8. 4.0 Young's Park (1 review)
    - Quiet Escape
Spent 1-2 hours Islands • Beaches • Parks
    Young's Park image
Young's Park is a county park right next to the resort on Guemes Island. Not a really big park, but if you're looking for a real quiet place to hang out, this is the place. There is a little beach area, lawn area, and a short trail through the woods. One could even stay in their car if the weather is bad and watch the boats go by. There is a nice view of some the surrounding islands. I'm guessing on a better weather day, one might be able to see Mount Baker on the mainland. Even on a grayer day, it was still fun walking around and get the sense of quiet you get here. If you're looking for a quiet place and not want to do a longer hike on Guemes, Young's Park is a great place to escape to. See more..
  9. 3.0 Skagit Island State Park (1 review)
    - An okay park
    State Parks • Islands
There are certainly better vistas and more activities at other parks but the uniqueness of Skagit Island perhaps makes this park worth the trip if you are in the area. See more..
