The Jet Boat tour on the Snake River is a "must do" experience. It is the best way to see the river, wild animals, and petroglyphs, and much more, and to truly experience this area of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. You may think the price is a little high, but you get lot for this price. 8 hours of the boat ride as well as lunch, water and lemonade, and great narration by an experienced tour guide. I have done rafting trips before, but this jet boat is so much more comfortable, and you cover a lot more territory in the jet boat than you can with a floating trip (and you do not need to row). I really felt like I got my money's worth. The only way to see the 3 state corner (Idaho, Washington, and Oregon) is on this river. We did an 8-hour drift boat tour with Skyler. Skyer was an awesome guide. Right away he taught us some helpful knots and information about flies/bugs on the river. Within minutes on the river, my partner and I both hooked into some trout (at the same time)! We caught a lot of fish on various flies. Skyler also talked about the river and the fish. He constantly was telling us where and when to cast, and when to set. He did rest for a minute and made sure we were always on the fish. We overheard other boats saying they had a slow day, but with Skyler, we felt our day was awesome and action-packed. We will be back to do a hunting tour with him. We paid $53 plus tax plus credit card transaction fee for a total of $61. Showers and Wi-Fi are additional. For some reason the bath/shower building is located at the far end of the property at the entrance. The bathrooms and shower (yes, only one shower for the entire resort) are out of date and dreary. Expect to hear trains on the other side of the lake, and it was continually windy during our one-night stay. On a positive note, Sprague Lake is a nice setting and the resort has comfortable all grass camping sites. But for $61 I can do better, shower included. We camped in a 25 foot motorhome.See more..

My wife and I went out on the Tornado for two consecutive days. They were combination Salmon/Bottomfishing trips. Captain Dwight Sawin and deckhands Joseph and Quinn were very gracious and efficient, hustling to take great care of all the fishermen and women aboard. Everyone onboard got their limits of king salmon and rockfish each day. We had our first encounters with Blue Sharks on these trips. Wikipedia states they average 10 Ft, and we saw several that size. They were consistently taking our bait, and providing exciting fights before they inevitably broke the lines. One fisherman reeled in half a king salmon, and a big blue got the other half. That’s the only fish the boat gave up, although often we had to quickly pull in fish past the circling sharks. Great fun and excitement!See more..

Their guide, Pat, was fun, energetic, knowledgeable about the river, and great with our son (he is 12) who had never fly fished before. Upon arriving in Clarkston, we were shuttled to the boat launch. We were the only drift boat and only fisherfolk on the 12 miles of river we floated. Under Toby Wyatt's guidance and recommendation of extremely effective lures and where to cast, we landed nearly 40 smallmouth bass in the 1-2 lb range, a few exceeding that weight. We saw a large golden and bald eagles, mule deer, and a variety of waterfowl such as mergansers, white pelicans, kingfishers and enjoyed the song of the canyon wren.
