We had over 7hrs to kill before our flight so scoured the airport for things to do, we stumbled upon the Panorama Terrace. It was brilliant a huge space that even had an empty disused aircraft for you to board and look around. It was very windy and cold there but would imagine in the summer would be a lovely place to sit and watch the daily goings on of the airport. They are doing works to this area and when these are complete the place will be a great place to visit. They are building a new bar and restaurant which will be a great place to chill in the summer. There are picnic tables and seating areas so you can bring your own food or takeaway food from the airport outlets. I wish we still had something like this at our local airport in the UK, its great place to kill time. See more..

This one of the first windmills as you walk along the Zaan River from the bridge. The entrance is free. The shop sells different spices and souvenirs. I got two Delft blue containers with stroopwaffels. See more..

One of the best viewing places I have seen for planes. You are close to the runway and the view is free of obstacles. On top there is a Snack bar that serves some of the best chips I ever had. See more..

Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Lookouts
We visited at 6pm and had the lookout to ourselves. We could clearly hear the birds in the distance and enjoyed the views. The lookout is a 5 minute, easy walk from the road and there is a free telescope at the lookout complete with a poster of birds you might see (in Dutch only). Binoculars are highly recommended.
