    - Schrobbelèr-feestje
    Monday: Spent 2-3 hours Distilleries
    Schrobbelèr image
If the idea of a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon learning about the history and production of Brabant’s most authentic herb liqueur appeals to you, then visit the Schrobbeler distillery. On an interesting tour under the proverbial smoke of Tilburg, you will learn all about this – by the producer’s own modest account – “valued atmosphere enhancer”. Introduced during Carnival in 1973, Schrobbeler has always maintained a strong link with this fun annual festival. Learn all there is to know about Schrobbeler – with the exception of the family secret of course – on one of the fun guided tours. Smile, warmth and friendship Tickets for one of the open tours at 1.30pm on Saturday or Sunday can be booked at schrobbeler.nl. Groups of fifteen people or more can also book on other days and times. And it’ll be well worth it, as confirmed by one guest: “We had a very enjoyable but also successful afternoon. The staff are friendly and were keen to tell us about the history of Schrobbeler. - See the angel on the cellphone on the square side
Monday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
    St. John's Cathedral image
A treasure inside and out. Too much to take in. If you are very interested there are guides sometimes (not sure how this works, just saw them). The stained windows, the architecture, peace inside and just the general feel make this a must see to me, Don't miss the climb if you can get tickets in summer (hugely popular). The organ is often missed by tourist, just look and absorb. There are little (and big) treasures around every corner, take your time. Remember to respect the various services, this is a working church. See more..

  7. 4.5 Indoor Skydive Roosendaal (892 reviews)
    - Best workout experience ever!
    Monday: Adrenaline & Extreme Tours
    Indoor Skydive Roosendaal image
The coolest thing to do.. Skydive Roosendaal has a professional set up and well educated staff. Planning a date is done with kind telephone employees who think along with you. After checking in on site, clean protective clothing is handed out. A short information movie is shown and then it is time to fly. Our kids where excited and a bit anxious but the teacher was highly skilled and very kind for them. One of our kids is afraid of heights but this totally not an aspect to not skydive. A great experience and an effective workout too. The demo what can be done in the wind turbine afterwards is very impressive. If you are in doubt, defenitely do check it out!! See more..

  9. 4.5 Overloon War Museum (619 reviews)
    - Very interesting and informative
Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Military Museums
    Overloon War Museum image
The Overloon War Museum is the biggest WWII museum in The Netherland. Right here, the tank battle of Overloon unfolded in the autumn of 1944. The village of Overloon was totally devestated back then. In order to remember the casualties and victims of that episode the museum was founded in 1946, even before the village was rebuilt. Nowadays over 100,000 people visit the museum every year. The first exhibition is about the occupation of The Netherlands from 1940 till 1945. The second large exhibition, displayed on 10.000 m2, contains over 150 military vehicles and artillery, both from allied forces and German. In addition to these two main exhibitions there are several smaller presentations, of which the Battle at Overloon presentation is definitely worth a visit. A museum restaurant and a shop completes this museum, which can be found in the so called Liberty Park in Overloon. See more..

    - Stunning and interesting
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
    St. Catharinakerk image
We had a few hours to kill in Eindhoven and with a train to catch we didnt want to leave the city centre. At 9am there was a lot not open yet (a Friday, a lot of stuff was opening at 10am) and saw the spires of the Cathedral when having a mint tea (with honey, try it!) so thought we would visit. This place is beautiful with beautiful paintings and stained glass. It also includes history which is really interesting. On display are excavated items with descriptions in English and Dutch, which are fascinating, especially the reconstructed child! Also old architectural drawings of the building. Worth a visit. See more..

Some areas of the exterior are undergoing maintenance but the inside is unaffected and quite brilliant. Found a matter of feet from Breda Grote Markt. See more..
  12. 4.5 Jheronimus Bosch Art Center (438 reviews)
    - Great if you love Bosch
Monday: Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums
    Jheronimus Bosch Art Center image
The body of work produced by Hieronymus Bosch can be found in museums and collections across the world. But the only place to find high-quality reproductions of all of his works is the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center in the city where the late-Mediaeval painter lived and worked his whole life. Come and admire the impressive exhibition set in a magnificent church building and you'll understand one visitor's summary of the experience: "I’ve learned a lot of Jerome Bosch. He is a great, and the most creative painter ever in history. This is a museum must see." Barely a quarter of an hour's walk from the station and just five minutes from St. John's Cathedral, this original and refreshing museum is home to all of Bosch's works and more. The reproductions can be found on the ground floor, while the other floors house collections of contemporary art, all inspired by Bosch himself. You can also take the lift to the very top floor of the tower for a fantastic view over the city. See more..

    - Amazing beers and food 10/10
Monday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Breweries
    100 Watt Brewery image
Cafe 100 Watt “Very international-friendly. Great service, warm atmosphere, superb beers and delicious food.” That was the response from an American visitor to this specialist beer experience at Cafe 100 Watt (Eindhoven City Brewery). Its artisan kitchen means you can combine wonderful home-brewed beers – with names inspired by local landmarks such as Witte Dame and Heeren van Eynthoven – with a slow cooked Picanha or Brewers Ribs, for instance. Or simply come along and enjoy the large pavement cafe of the Proeflokaal 100 Watt (Tasting Room 100 Watt) by the Dommel, in the middle of the city centre. See more..
  16. 4.5 Museum De pont (326 reviews)
    - The place to see contemporary art
    Speciality Museums
    Museum De pont image
De Pont is a great museum; probably the best in south eastern Netherlands. If you want to see top class contemporary art outside the big Dutch cities this is the place to go. Established in an old textile factory - which is worth a visit in itself - the level of exhibitions has remained high since it's opening in 1992. There's also a quality cafe and very pleasant 'natural' garden. Another couple of suggestions are the North Brabant museum in Den Bosch and the Bonnefanten museum in Maastricht. See more..
  17. 4.5 National Park de Loonse en Drunense Duinen (304 reviews)
    - Fresh Air in the Dunes
    National Parks
National Park de Loonse en Drunense Duinen image
This is a national park, close to amusementparc de Efteling and the cities Tilburg and 's Hertogenbosch/Den Bosch. This park is like a desert, surrounded by a small forest. There are 6 main entries, and at each entry there's a restaurant and lots of parkingspace available. The "duinen" (in English it's called dunes) is a great area to walk or cycle around (there is a special cycle path) and there are tracks for mountainbiking and horsebackriding. Children can build sandcastles or treehouses, and dogs love the area, because at certain places they can run around loose. It's sort of a beach without the sea! Also great for picknicking, sunbathing, children's parties, groupgames, etc. A real popular NP in our province! See more..

  20. 4.5 Beer Brewery de Koningshoeven (260 reviews)
    - Sample La Trappe beer
    Breweries
    Beer Brewery de Koningshoeven image
We had a La Trappe beer in the Hotel Mercure in Tilburg and the waitress told us it was brewed locally.....so we just had to visit. Due to social distancing measures, it's currently not possible to have a tour, but the restaurant/bar is open and we were able to sample the beers for a very reasonable price. The abbey is one of only 12 Trappist breweries and, apparently, the only one to brew its own wheat beer. I'd love to come back when it's possible to have a tour round the abbey. See more..
  21. 4.5 Breda's Begijnhof Museum (252 reviews)
    - Beautiful, peaceful and very interesting history
    Speciality Museums
    Breda's Begijnhof Museum image
The Begijnhof is a beautiful spot for a short visit. I was there during the winter, so the gardens were dormant, but I imagine it's amazing during spring and summer. It's easy to walk past and miss the gateway, but there's a lot of local information to let you know exactly where to find it. It's quiet and peaceful, and has a very interesting history going back for centuries. There's a small museum (2 Euro entry cost) with a short video available in both English and Nederlander languages. The museum shows how the Beguins lived when the Begijnhof was still active. You don't need to enter the museum just to visit the grounds, though. The grounds are open for visiting, but be aware that women do still live in the apartments, and quiet wandering is appreciated. The chapel is not open to walk into, but you can step inside the door and look through a glass partition to see it. It's quite lovely. See more..

The Museum of Prehistory (Oertijdmuseum) in Boxtel is the Netherlands’ largest geology museum. Here, you will learn all about prehistoric times and can walk among life-size dinosaurs and other extinct species! The remarkable fossils on display take you back ages, while the lovely Prehistory Garden (Oertijdtuin) offers ‘living fossils’ and also plenty of amazing trees and bushes. Add to this the playground and exciting Prehistoric Forest (Oertijdwoud), and this educational museum is a fantastic day out for families with children aged between 4 and 12. As one of our young explorers put it: “We’ve had another great day here, plenty to see and do!” A modern way of experiencing the past Open from 10:00 to 17:00 Tuesdays to Sundays, this museum offers several special packages for children’s parties and also lays on up-to-the-moment themed evenings. The museum is the pride and joy of the village and this augmented reality dinosaur hunt is the perfect way to appeal to 21st-century explorers. Great way to spend a few hours. We travelled to Eindhoven to watch the PSV v Volendam game, unfortunately the game was moved as PSV we’re playing in the champions league the following Wednesday. We visited the stadium anyway for a look in the morning and booked the stadium tour for 1pm the same day (€14/head). Sandra was our tour guide, she was great as was her English) Really enjoyed and 100% recommend to fellow football fans. See more..
  28. 4.5 Montana Snowcenter (172 reviews)
    - Great lessons and bar/ restaurant
    Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes
    Montana Snowcenter image
We visited here during our stay at Centerparcs. Our boys (12 & 9) have never skied before so we booked a beginners group lesson but now wish we’d booked the midweek package. The instructor Janneke was enthusiastic and fun. It was a quiet week so no other customers - they basically got a private lesson. She built their confidence up so that after just one hour they could traverse (tentatively) from the top all the way down the beginner slope. Great value for money, really recommend. We had dinner in the restaurant overlooking the slope which I think is a really cosy place. The pizzas and burger were great. One meal wasn’t good but this was refunded when I explained the problem - really good service. Overall - great value with fabulous staff, would definitely go again. See more..
  29. 4.5 preHistorisch Dorp (165 reviews)
    - Good experience
Temporarily closed - Closed until Mar 31, 2023 Spent More than 3 hours Speciality Museums • Children's Museums • History Museums
    preHistorisch Dorp image
The preHistorisch Dorp in Eindhoven is the replica of a prehistoric village, complete with dwellings and demonstrations of skills used by historic people. The open-air museum recreates life from this and later eras, including Roman and early medieval. Find out how the Romans lived, meet militant Batavians, visit farmers from the Iron Age and go on a hunt in the prehistoric times. At the preHistorisch Dorp, interpreters dressed in historical clothes bring the history of this province to life, going about everyday tasks and interacting with visitors in programs and workshops. These might include learning to make a fire as prehistoric people did, baking bread on a stick, or learning how to make a Roman fibula (garment pin). Prehistoric farming methods, hand weaving and spinning, metalwork, and other skills are demonstrated and discussed here. Although very engaging for children, this is an experience for all ages. 30. 4.5 Van Gogh Village Nuenen (163 reviews)
    - Must See Village
    Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour History Museums
    Van Gogh Village Nuenen image
The village of Nuenen is also known as Van Gogh Village, and rightly so. There isn’t a place in the Netherlands where you can tread in the footsteps of this famous painter quite so literally. Here, stories about Van Gogh are still vividly told, his letters are available for reading, and there are no fewer than fourteen locations which have been immortalised by Van Gogh in a picture or a painting. Experiencing Van Gogh’s life in the Netherlands so intensely is not possible anywhere else. “The museum is a gem” In the Vincentre museum you will hear all about Van Gogh and read his own stories about Nuenen, where he lived and worked from 1883 to 1885. Who was he, how did he live, who did he socialise with, and why was he so passionate about Nuenen? It will all become clear during an educational tour with an audio guide in no fewer than eight languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. In the village itself, no fewer than 23 locations have a direct link with Van Gogh. Together, they form a walking and cycling route with interactive informational signs in Dutch and English. From The Potato Eaters to The Starry Night The Potato Eaters is based on a scene that Van Gogh saw at the house of a peasant family in Nuenen. It literally comes to life in theatre Het Klooster. The world famous designer Daan Roosegaarde designed, based on Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, the now famous and unique Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path, for which thousands of twinkling stones were incorporated in the asphalt. This cycle path, between Nuenen and the nearby city of Eindhoven, is part of the Van Gogh Cycle Route. Heritage locations in Brabant This cycle route connects the five Van Gogh heritage locations in Brabant, which of course include Nuenen. You won’t get any closer to Van Gogh than this. Or, as one of our enthusiastic guests wrote about Nuenen: “The same view that Van Gogh had!” Come and experience the place in which Van Gogh was inspired by the rural... See more..
