One of the highlights in Bergen op Zoom
The Markiezenhof is an old middle aged castle and was later a prison and a regiment for soldiers . It has a very interesting history. You don't have to visit the museum inside, because on the outside is also much so see and if you don't understand Dutch it's easier and cheaper to look around. From there it's a short walk to the other highlights in Bergen op Zoom: the Gertrudis church and The Gevangenpoort (prisonersgate).And on your walk you can look around in the old town.

Beautiful 'castle' close to the Centre of town.
A must see. There is also a special 'feel' bronze layout for people with sight issues. Typical, beautiful castle with recreated historical kitchen garden. Don't forget to really look at the tower and gate entrance embellishments,
