Make your own gin
I’ve booked the gin workshop for my friend and myself. I actually don’t speak Dutch but my friend does so i decided that with some gin and help I’ll handle it ;-). We arrived a bit early and had a cocktail before the class, which was very, very good. Mark took amazing care of us. After the other couple participating in class arrived Mark kindly asked them if they would mind if he held the class in English. They didn’t and i couldn’t believe my luck! I was so so grateful that Mark was so attentive and flexible and just switched to English! I appreciated it a LOT. Then the class started. First we were told about history of gin, gin making process and the company. Then we tried the gins which are being brewed directly in the building (beware of the chili one, which i personally loved). Afterwards we were allowed to see the distillery from the inside where Mark took time to explain every single detail of the process. Questions were encouraged and answered in every detail, and my friend and i had many ;-). Afterwards we were told about tonics and tried gin/tonic combinations and were allowed to experiment with garnish. At the end came the highlight where we were allowed to create our very own gin. For the best result it should sit for couple of weeks before trying it. I actually cannot wait ;-)! So if you are a gin lover or at least interested in it, make sure you take part in the workshop, it was very hands on, informative and fun. Thanks again for a fantastic experience and I’ll definitely stop by for a couple of cocktails next time i’m in Eindhoven!

A great experience, well worth doing!
Mark was an excellent guide and shared lots of information about the distillery. It's a really nice place, alongside a canal and with a chilled outdoor space. If you're carrying hand luggage only, I can confirm that the set of 5 rums (100ml each) safely made it through security at Schiphol Airport albeit with a somewhat envious glance from the officials! The Bottle Distillery is really worth a visit, maybe a 10 to 15 minute walk from the city centre and a great way to spend a few hours. You get a choice of tasters at the end, the Ginger Gin is highly recommended. Thanks again to Mark for an enjoyable tour and his insight into distilling and all that goes with making the venture a success.
